This is a brilliant composition. Kabalevsky was a genius when he composed this. One of the best violin concertos ever. I never get tired of this piece. Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful recording.

I can't remember the last time I saw Arensky on a recital program...sadly, people like to stick to the big hits.

This young composer was a true conosseur of orchestration. Besides, he is a proper Russian musician, it is heard from his themes, sound colours, melodies we are familiar with from the works of Borodin, Rimski Korsakov, Musorgski or Tschaikovsky. It is a big loss for the entire musical comunity that he died so early and that his works are almost unknown worldwide.
