Why could you not have just screwed the I-let off of the shock shaft, used the original mounting hardware on the top of the shock and mounted it right back in the original configuration? Wow.

I was wondering what performance increase would be given on the single speed gearbox using a 2S Lipoly instead of the supplied 6V Nicad. With the 6V Nicad the C24 covered the length of my entrance hall in 19 seconds, with the 2S Lipoly 15 seconds. So it's about 25%. I have not checked if the motor would heat up too much with 2S.

I finally got one of these. I ended up just swapping out the ESC. I didn't put any of the decals on mine. I'm going to paint it into a snake theme so that it can maybe scare some of the people around the pond.

Hi I also upgraded to a 2s motor but the rubber between the couplers is grinding against the plastic sides because it swells with the brushless power. Do you have the same problem?

An esc with a brake or reverse would help it self right. The one you used looks like it was intended for aircraft. That little sucker was moving. What kv and cell count did you use?

What tires are those?

Everything better about the 2nd gen: The axles are wider, the shocks are on the outside of the chasis, the motor is bigger, the truck is faster, the tires are better & 4-link suspension. Did I miss anything?

I have both & there really is no comparison. Basically everything they did wrong on the first gen, they corrected on the second gen.

I use a piece of one sided adhesive foam pad I got at hobby-lobby and made a gasket with that. Also my kit came with 4 very small outside diameter 3mm shims, If you put 2 of the shims on the outside of the each input shaft, attach the drive shaft to the input shaft before assembling the axle. Make sure the input shaft is all pushed against the inside of the diff cover and there is no play, it'll work with very little binding.

Or maybe the pinion gear is on the wrong side of the axle?

Did the cavitation happen with the 2s? Just wondering if the 3s weight caused the cavitation? Let me know if you did any other mods and if you ever tried at full throttle. Thanks for your video

Thanks for posting this. I just got into the axle assembly procedure and was dismayed that the first axle I tried to build was a no-go. Too much binding and I can’t close the gear case up without small gaps. This gasket/shim idea seems like the easiest fix. I’m going to use paper though and make several so I can gradually build up thickness.
