I know them all. Hung out with Ruby D, we lived up block from one another. Kevie Kev dated my friend Punpkin from clay ave and EZ AD dated my cousin Debra. It was so much fun. We all had our real hair butts and breast. Ruby D used to pick me up and get me into the clubs " Garage" and " T Connection" for free because he was rapping. No violence ever just my people, blacks and Puerto Ricans having fun. I miss this. Also Kevie Kev's father was one of the intruders that sang" ill always love my mama and sad girl" We stayed on southern Blvd at the jew man shopping and buying gold. Ruby D was the nicest person in the world. Blacks & Puerto Ricans did that. Also Ruby D, whipper whip and Charlie Chase are Puerto Ricans.❤❤❤❤

Actually, the first crew was Grandwizard Theodore and the Fantastic Five then it cuts to the Cold Crush Brothers.

They Shouting Black and Proud. Our PR brothers knew what it was and participated in our "Black" American Hip Hop culture just like today. Yall just cant claim that Hip Hop is 50/50 with Latinos you dont hear any Latin breakdowns in this track. Nuyorican pioneers even admitted that they participated but didnt CREATE the art form. Its a difference between participating and creating. 💯

At that time (70ies) the Puerto Ricans that were down, were doing what the Blacks were doing because the Blacks were the dominant race in the Bronx at that time. If you wanted to be down with hip hop (called Jams back then) you had to rock with the Blacks and some Black peeps had a cool Puerto Rican friend from school or from their neighborhood. We Blacks always accept anyone who’s cool. “Yo that’s my man! #GoFigure

The ignorance and the arrogance of kids today that think they know everything about HipHop and have no clue that Puerto Ricans were cofounders of the movement against discrimination of blacks and Puerto Ricans in New York in the 70s and nothing has changed. Boricuas still in front lines of the struggle against racism in USA. Longer than anyone, 530 years and still going strong…

In NYC Blacks and Puerto Ricans have alway’s been together. We grew up in each other’s neighborhood’s and housing project’s living in the same floor. I don’t know about those other states where they fight each other but in NYC in the 70’s 80’s and 90’s we were together.
