Amon Carter that the stadium is named after was a big newspaper publisher in the first half of the 20th century. He was played by Treat Williams in the movie 12 Might Orphans if you've ever seen that. That circle is called Founders Plaza. Its the guys who donated the $$ for the stadium. Most of them big oil money. The Addison Clark was one of the founders of TCU. The big donor didn't really want something to honor him, so he had the school put up a monument to Addison Clark.

The new construction also includes the Will Trevillion III weight room. Banner is above the door. He was a TXST player (sophomore DT) who passed suddenly in the off season in January 2016. His parents started the funding for the new weight room.

You only saw the concession booths on the SW corner of the west side stands. There are more concessions on the NW corner, plus a "beer garden" where you can sit and have a beer. The North End zone also has concession stands but those are premium seating and if you have a seat in those it includes your food and drink. Club seating is also in the west side up in the tower. The east stands are mainly for general admission, the band and student seating. And it has two seperate concession stands. One on each side of the student entry gate.

Good game! Hope you guys fix your issues and recover from this. Go beat K State for us! Glad to get a win in the Big12, I honestly thought this would have been where we stumbled. Again, good game. Best of luck with the rest of the season.

The reason SMU was playing Kevin Jennings last game is because of how bad Preston Stone was playing. In the 1st half SMU kept switching them each possession but Kevin Jennings was actually managing to move the ball down field.

And if you do come for the Florida State game go into the "cooling area" which is in the northwest corner of the concourse. It is SMU's Heritage Hall with Doak Walker's Heisman Trophy on display along with lots of other artifacts.

Too bad you did not get to campus early. Ribbon cutting for the end zone project was at 1:30 and touring allowed until 2:45. You could have gotten the inside scoop.

Question please...a million years ago, when you drove down or walked down Mockingbird, you could look right thru the fence and see the field. It doesn't appear that is true any longer. Is that correct? On edit.. It Owenby was demolished and the new stadium was named after a billionaire banker. The small stadium had great neighborhood character. A sunny, cool Saturday afternoon was VERY special. 😢💔

The Swamp is a magical place. I first saw a game there in the 1980s as a young Gators fan. The place is legendary and holds a piece of my heart.

You can't make a parking garage look pretty anywhere.

It kind of goes with the rest of the campus, hodge podge. Stick something here, stick something there. Nothing is symmetrical. Hate a garage stuck on a stadium. Nothing pretty about a garage. They should have moved the track field down by Lloyd Noble and built the garage in its place. They kind of make up for everything with landscaping which they do a good job with.

Next time you visit, you should go to Lubbock High School. LHS is also Spanish Architecture (Buddy Holly attended there). Lubbock High is on 19th St. East of TTU.

There is a historical marker for those trees along Mockingbird Lane near where Ownby Drive leads into campus.

I remember as a little girl in the 70s my family and I passing by tech. It was such a small college then.

Iowa City is a great city. So much great food and diversity. The Ped Mall is a blast!!! Especially on game days/night.

I think that Utah makes the B12 CCG at 11-1 but the loss is not to OSU and Utah wins the conference championship. Utah has beaten teams twice in the same season before. If OSU does beat Utah in the regular season and they meet in the B12 CCG Utah will still win the conference championship.

TSU still plays at Shell Energy Stadium but there’s never been any signage for TSU since I’m assuming it’s the primary home for the Dynamo and Dash

Great video and the stadium does look awesome in person. But do yourself a favor as well as the folks responsible for safety on the job site, don't walk into an active job site. You may have put yourself at risk and the individuals in charge of the job site may get their backsides chewed for your actions. Just something to consider.
