Love those knives.! I am always carrying a Case knife.. but bought some RR knives a month ago. Their quality is great! The fit & finish is spot on! And they are way cheaper.! 👌🏻 Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Yes I was surprised myself on how good they were made.
What's the objective of whittling a cedar stick? Are you just trying to get it as smooth as possible without Nicks?
Trying to get the longest thinnest shaving possible, it’s fun to see how sharp your blades are .
@@crosscutcarvings I remember my grandpa fussing if I made a notch in his whittling stick. Probably going to head to Smoky mountain knife works and the antique Mall tomorrow to see if I can find a Case Whittler.
@@shawnsnow6413 case makes a great whittler .

Greatly appreciate it, glad you enjoyed watching 👍
Have you seen any of ddalo carving videos, some are basic but a few are quite enjoyable and push limits.
Yes I have he is a great carver
What would be a complete list of all the palm gouges I will need to do this type of carving I have several knives would like some quality gouges and I want to order them at the same time. Thanks
So drake is very good quality and flexcut in my book when honed and buffed very good are excellent.. for the drake tools I would look up the carving glove guy he should have some tree line for flexcut .. let me know if that helps ..3/16 #11 or1/8 # 11 and 1/4 #8 a1/4” #9 is good aswell but a good knife goes along way if you don’t have all the tools 👌🏼
Excellent job, that has got to be one nice piece of basswood and/or a very sharp knife, thanks for sharing…
A good piece of northern basswood and a very sharp knife you can have some fun 😉
When is the next carving show. I go to north Carolina 2 times a year would love to stop by.
Charlotte woodcarvers should have the dates if you go on their page its usually around the same times each year I believe..
Sounds great maybe I'll get to see you there
Love it. Thanks. I've been carving for about 4 years. I can see I need to get a lot better.
Carving is a wonderful hobby I’m always trying to get better as well just takes time and a lot of time with a knife and wood .
