What A Character! #1: Daniel Roebuck, Part 1
I can’t help thinking that he would’ve been great in Airplane move especially his constant finger pointing after every sentence hilarious!
He was great in The Fugitive, US Marshals and Final Destination
ia storm just hit malibu weeks ago. hope both of them are ok
That’s right “joy boy”! Funny as hell!
That philosophy at the end is the best I've ever heard.
Rest in Peace.
“ …dogs “ would’ve been a better film with Carey, no question.
🙏👍
He took the character of Bookman and turned it into a masterclass in acting.
He absolutely nails that part
Love him in so many of his roles! I am looking for the comic "To Hell You Ride" and trying to get Millennium on disc. Pumpkinhead breaks my heart--I feel the father's pain that he projects so clearly.
Its funny how he lays out that whole begrudging story about Kietel's fragile ego losing Carey the part, but the excuse Quentin gave him later was legit- Chris Penn doesnt look like the son of Timothy Carey, and Penn was a bigger name at the time, so it totally makes sense to recast the role. And it's not like they went with a lesser choice as Tierney was great.
Yeah, my immediate thought was, Timothy might've been great but I'd have such a hard time buying him as Penn's father.
Pure gold of an interview.
Absolutely one of the best television scenes ever! A winner every time you see it.
That is the funniest scene in the history of television. I've seen it well over 50 times and I still laugh at it.
Any role I see him in, I always think of Samson “John” Tollet.
Hard feelings? What do you know about hard feelings?
What is wrong with you?
Making claims is one thing but let's see the evidence that Frank stole Mrs. Carey's poetry. Might be true but I wouldn't know of your Dad if it weren't for Frank.
This is such a treat. Thanks for sharing.
I don't judge a man by the length of his hair or the kind of music he listens to. Rock was never my bag. But you put on a pair of shoes when you walk into the New York Public Library, fella.
Pee pees and wee wees!
Romeo is full of it!
Great clip, I had no idea Timothy Carey was supposed to be in Reservoir Dogs, would've been an awesome choice, especially with The Killing connection, which seems to have been a big influence on Reservoir Dogs
I cannot see giving Starship Troopers an NC-17. I mean it was a terrible interpretation of the book, but not obscene or horrifying. Frighteners is one of my favorite movies.
Yeah this guy has been in a ton of great stuff, some of my favorite movies. Great bad guy but even more fun as a side character (Grosse Point Blank). Terrific voice, one of those "That guys" nobody knows the name of but loves every role. And dang... I think he'd have been better for Star Trek than Picard, but it really would have changed the show -- for the better
I'm really enjoying your interviews and so happy you are bringing attention to the sometimes overlooked but very memorable character actors. Your interview style led Romeo to tell such wonderful stories! Great surprise at the end - what a showman Timothy Carey was or should I say "What a Character"😂😂
Luv Lance! A great actor, with an amazing body of work and a wealth of stories! Great interview.
This guy has been in a ton of stuff, huge fan of his work. Always great, a legendary actor. I mean if you look at the best movies of the last 40 years, he's been in almost all of them. Dude was in Dog Day Afternoon, Close Encounters, The Right Stuff, Terminator, Jagged Edge, Aliens, Near Dark, Pumpkinhead, Hard Target, Quick and the Dead, it just goes on and on
I first saw him as a kid in Hard Target with Jean Claude van Damme. So after that it was," the guy from hard target ". Plus his Comic book he co wrote was" To Hell You Ride" great also.
If TWGS is not the worst movie ever made, it is one of the worst. It is preposterously bad. Worse than any cheapo Roger Corman. I would also note that calling it that was not exactly the insult it would seem - Zappa used reverse psychology all the time in his own work. If he had just said it was a bad movie that would be different, but THE WORST MOVIE EVER MADE is pure marketing - a desperate attempt to make people curious to go see it! Why would he want to disuade people from seeing it? That it was so remarkably bad is its only selling point! And as it turned out, the movie was so shitty that no one would release it for decades anyway. Hollywood has a lot of weirdos trying to cash in on some slim connection to notoriety, but this is another category.
Agreed. Frank was brilliant at marketing to the disenfranchised.
WOW!!! That guy is so full of shit. Timothy Carey didn't discover Frank Zappa and he wasn't his mentor. He gave Frank an opportunity to score his film. Frank was already a composer at that time. Zappa was recording at and releasing music from Pal Recording Studio in Cucamonga when he scored The World's Greatest Sinner. He also didn't steal from Carey or his wife. What a bunch of grandiose and absurd statements by Carey's son.
He has some ego on behalf of his father, Zappa would have been the same without meeting his dad, this was the most riduculous claims I have ever heard in my life.
Don’t forget that his mom wrote Zappa’s lyrics. Both his parents *made* Zappa. 🤡
@@jonathonbuttery2041 oh ye i forgot you're correct without his mom Freak Out would never have been written lol
@@HakanTunaMuzik To be fair, Zappa did take material from around him and reorganize it. He was not nearly as bad about it as Miles Davis (e.g. claiming he wrote “Blue in Green” or “Sanctuary”) but Zappa shaved it close at times. But this particular accusation is pretty ridiculous.
@@jonathonbuttery2041well, It was his own music to reorganize, and no one ever heard it back then
My son is one of the actors in the Hail Mary, I can't thank Dan enough for the opportunity and the experience, he is truly a great person and a credit to his craft.
Hilarious.
He was damn good in that. He was that part
I was so happy to see Daniel in The Misadventures of Biffle and Shooster. His performance and outtakes were among my favorite. RIP Will Ryan.
Danny is truly a gifted comedic actor. Thanks fo watching!
