A visit to Crewe on 26/04/2024 brought a variety of traction including three Class 90's, 2 destined for transfer from DB to Freightliner and the other on LSL Duty. Also plenty of Class 67's passing through the station, though the last was meant to be taking me home, it was failed outside the station and sent into Platform 11 instead of 6 and the train was cancelled for some reason. Enjoy!

Awesome Mark Cheers for a Great Day 👍
Yes it was the best diesel gala I have been to. I wish I had done 2 days with all the extra stuff we didn't have time to fit in!
Superb shots and captures there Mark!👍👍👍
Thanks. Yes it was a brilliant gala. Have so much great footage to share from it.
Good shots and captures there Mark!👍
Excellent shots and captures there Mark!
Cheers. There will be 4 parts to enjoy!
@@sparkynl1271 i will definitely check out part 4 then
Certainly Was Fantastic Mate Great Footage 👍
They should reopen the line from skelton junction to Carrington. This train could take a few trucks off the road carrying waste from Broadheath to Northenden. Nice vid 👍
Really good I live round the corner it is always interesting
I hope these drivers appreciate and enjoy their well paid jobs ? !
次々と駅に入って来る列車が素敵。 チャンネル登録をしました。😺
It's definitely a majestic train compilation video !! Greetings from India.
Excellent Sir 👍 Very Nice Glad u got the 90s 👍👍
Awesome trains my friend. Joe from Canada
Lovely ❤❤ thanks ❤️ 😊 my favourite train
Excellent Mark 👍 Great Footage 👍
Cheers mate. I was running back and forwards trying to film, it was like a rush hour of freight🙂
Excellence camera work.
Fab catches from that bridge loving the biomass Drax train. Great reverse then forward manoeuvre into the RTS. 😊👍
Thanks. It's an interesting location with trains coming from the Peak District and from the Stockport area. The bin train is interesting to watch from arrival to run round.
Nice to see the train with empty hoppers to tunstead before it comes to Northwich. I grew up with this train when the class 37s pulled it
Excellent Mark Great Footage As Always 👍
Cheers. It's a great spot. Hoping for a little more traction variety next time I visit.😊
Wonderful work of these 66 diesel engines. Joe from Canada
Excellent Mark Brilliant Video 📹 👏 👍
Thanks
Thanks for sharing. Excellent coverage. Use to enjoy going there for a few hours when we lived nearby
Absolutely banging. I love this more than I can express here. Superb, Great, Fantastic. All that and more. Thanks for posting this. 👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice vid Mark, where are the freights going to/from please.
The majority of stone trains are to and from the Peak District. Empties head towards the Peak, loaded head away to places like the Midlands (for HS2 I presume). The bin trains are Bredbury to Runcorn to Northenden (Freightliner) and Knowsley to Witton (DB Schenker I think). The loaded Biomass trains work from Liverpool port to Drax in Yorkshire.
Thanks for that, must get down there.👍
Excellent indeed
Excellent Mark 👍 👍 👍
I reckon you might have made as many as four guest appearances in this video. Certainly 3!!😃
Awesome Footage Once Again Mark 👏
Awesome Footage Mark Brilliant mate 👏
Cheers Kev. Hope to catch up with you soon.🙂
Cracking video! To me, this is both the most interesting and annoying part of the mid ches - its very unique compared to the rest of the network, however, the single line with low speed limit means its a bit of a bottleneck at times. If I had a penny for every time I've been on a Chester-bound train and had to wait outside of Deansgate Jnc for another Northern, I'd have enough money to move to Stockport and never use the line again😆
and it's frustrating in terms of the fact that the majority of the workings are from the south so if it's sunny that is a challenge. Additionally, there is limited help on RHTT and other sites with regards train updates between Northenden Junction and Hartford or Middlewich. With freights running early or late it is common to miss a working without knowing! This happened to me today as I was waiting at Lostock Gralam for a freight, which had passed 1 minute before I arrived!
awsome video i subscribed u chanal cheers from netherlands
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.🙂
Dios...Inglaterra es tan especial y tan mágica , que sin ver aún los titulares de los vídeos , sabes que es Inglaterra, gracias , hermoso vídeo.❤
Cracking footage! Been a great month for the area, railway wise. I seem to appear a few times in this video - shows how popular a location this is!😆
Yes it has been good. Just watched your video including some of the same moves. Always like to see different footage from the same time I was at a location.
Fantastic you had a good day
Very good indeed I live local to Northenden Jn
My memories of Skelton Junction go back to the very early 1960s. My friends and i used to trainspot through the gate that was left open by the on duty signalman who occupied and very tall signal box right next to Moss Lane bridge on the side of the three track junction. 8Fs, weekend diverted Pines Express, 4MT tank engines going to Warrington were commmon place. We used to place old penny coins on the track to have them flattened by the locos and trains they were pulling.
Thanks for sharing those memories. I presume the signal box was like the one that still stands at Northenden Junction?
Sorry but I have no knowledge about the box at Northenden Junction. The box at Skelton Junction was tall enough to see over the top of Moss Lane gridge
If you have a look through my videos, the ones at Northenden Junction include the tall signal box that is over Longley Lane. I suspect the one by Moss Lane would have been very similar.
Hi, great video, do you have a date for the 66 at Stoney Bridge hauling the 3 loaded limestone hoppers, please? Just wondered if it was mid-January 2024 or not thanks. Cheers Paul
Hi Paul, just looked it up it was filmed on 19/01/2023. BTW the I am working my way down the Mid Cheshire line, I filmed at Northwich for the second time last week, I am fairly sure you will be making a guest appearance on that particular film as I was talking to you on Northwich station on my previous visit last year when 47830 passed through. I also visited the Middlewich branch for the first time on the visit last week to check out possible spots to film, I notice you have some good shots in the Cheshire Railways facebook group which match up to the spots I visited. I hope to go back in March to Northwich. 🙂
@@sparkynl1271ok cheers. I'm sure I'll bump into you sometime soon.

Good video :)
Fabulous footage, thanks for sharing. I first visited this location in the late 70s, bunking off work, and it was an incredibly busy place. At that time, the route through to Latchford was still open and this saw the majority of traffic. The Fiddlers Ferry - Yorkshire MGR trains all came this way, always hauled by a 47, but there was loads of other trains usually hauled by 40s or class 25s. Occasional tank trains came down from Shell at Carrington heading for Ellesmere Port, and these would use the now redundant loop seen in the opening sequence for the locos to run round. I used to park up just to the right of the over bridge seen in the background here - there was much less vegetation then and I had an unobstructed view up to the junction. The clattering semaphore signals gave plenty of warning of an approaching train. Oddly enough, the only route open today is the one which saw least use back then. The only trains which I saw use it regularly were the ICI company trains from Tunstead to Northwich, always in the charge of a single class 25. Happy days, oh for a time machine....
Superb indeed
Thanks for the feedback🙂
Well done great variety of locos and stock at our local junction 😊 Pedro
Yes it's always good to see rare workings through the area🙂
Awesome Footage Mark Great Stuff 👍👍👍
cheers, couldn't spot you in this area😂
@sparkynl1271 Haha I was Down the Line Somewhere Most Probs 🤣
Very Nice 👍 👍
Cheers. Always something going on in this area😊
Excellent Footage mate 👏 Nice to see me aswell 😂
Always good to see a technician at work 😉
Superb, Mark. Enjoyed it greatly! I've now subscribed to your channel. Thank you.
Thanks John. I am compiling a series of videos working their way down the Mid Cheshire line starting at Stockport. I will be posting some from down your neck of the woods during 2024!
Excellent mate
Cheers
I used to spot from all of those bridges as a kid and remember the passing loop at moss lane bridge being in operation along with the signal box at Skelton junction. Saw loads of 37s sat in that loop. Great video keep them coming 👍
That shouldn’t be happening on open railway wagons where the limestone dust is blowing about
Maybe the wagons could be retrofit with cover doors on top to stop this happening.
Great footage. I hope to see GBRF and DC Rail gain more Class 60's if DB are ditching theirs. I enjoyed the video and all the best for 2024.
Yes I agree. At least 60099 is scheduled to return (for DCR) later in 2024.
@@Sparkynl that's good news. Maybe 60099 could be picked for heritage livery like triple grey. I hope 60100 also joins DCR too.
I ain't seen a tractor or hst in Stockport for a few decades! Nice catch seeing these retro real old-school loco's in sunny Stockport!!!
Yes, Blue Pullman and Network Rail test trains in these instances🙂
It's definitely a magical train presentation !! Greetings from India.
