Not in the slightest I'm afraid. Volvo's own D5 and T5 engines are nice options but it's a Ford Focus wearing a very pretty dress. An expensive car built on a cheap platform. Probably the least reliable car I've ever had

@@psions555 What car did you have? loved my T5, solid. Tuned to 320bhp with some bolt ons. Betrayed it for a BMW 335i and modded to 420bhp. Sold the T5 at 167000 miles and is still on the road today checking the reg now it went past 220,000 miles... TUNED. Why do you say they aren't reliable? you 20000% purchased a lemon on the cheap.

@@psions555 It's not fair to call it just a focus with pretty dress. The platform is used yes, but it's modified and it is it's own unique car.

Yes, that's true, it's not a sporty car, it is more about comfort and luxury (also note that I was in comfort mode and not noticing it). Although I believe 740d also has more HP.

Well this is an entry level idk what you expect to be honest, it has pretty much same horsepower as the 730d which it competes against.. If you want something faster go for the 420cdi or switch to petrol models.

I shan't be buying one. I@m not saying it's slow in ream terms. Sub 7 seconds 0-100 km/h is still rapid enough. I wouldn't go near petrol engines in cars of this size even if I could afford to buy one.

Yeah generally thats okay, 7 secs is an okay because its a cruiser rather than a sportscar. Newer gen 3 liter engines got faster its not like this anymore. I was personally looking at the A8 2007-2009 3.0 tdi however it has around 230 hp which is relatively same as this merc and all in all its very little for cars of these kinds. There is a 4,2 V8 tdi but a V8 can hardly be economical and easy to upkeep it lmao. So I might just end up getting an A5(2011) or A6(2008-2010) 3.0 tdi due to their lower weight

This is luxury, big heavy car. But imo still not slow.

I am actually not owning it, it is the company car of one of my coworkers and I just drove it temporarily for a few days. What my experiences were for that short time is that it is really, really super comfortable, I drove some Volvos that are famous for their comfortability, but this car just beat them for me. Not only the seats are comfy, but the whole driving experience is as well, I wouldn't say it's sporty. It is also luxurious, very sturdily built and this particular model had a lot of extras like massage seats and all. This engine (3 L diesel) is powerful, not a sports car but enough for regular driving and has loads of torque. What I also know is that maintenance costs are high, especially if something gets broken and if you're buying it used then you must pay close attention to how it was driven and serviced in the past, otherwise you may have to reach deep in your pockets.. but hey, its a Mercedes, awesome car, I really enjoyed driving it.
