      @@kavanlaing7238 that's cool. was the aluminum plated? i know that usually when you grind aluminum the rock gets clogged with material. can you grind down aluminum down to 1micron tolerance? I'm looking to nikasil plate a Ø10 mm shaft and grinded down to 1 micron tolerance if it's possible. is that realistic? thanks

    • @lakhanpatel8562
      @lakhanpatel8562 2 года назад

      Set the centerhight . Resting blade to upper support. Keep regulating wheel RPM very less. Check the angle of resting blade.

    • @jakewilkinson3612
      @jakewilkinson3612 2 года назад

      Set for the correct centreheight, workpiece should make contact with your blade roughly 3/4 of the way up also and lastly make sure its not bouncing around or stop/starting which is usually an issue with say titanium on a medium coarse wheel and light work pieces, many factors go into it but most common cause is incorrect centreheight and make sure your control wheel is dressed accordingly

    I've had about 40 years experience of Ghiringhelli centreless grinding and had a couple of injuries, not too bad though, I would at least use a bung made of wood or PTFE, with enough overhang to slip lightly through my hand.

    • @kavanlaing7238

      That part that I'm grinding is aluminum with a steel bushing on the inside .0005 total tolerance if you put a lever in the part and try to hold onto it i get taper

      @@kavanlaing7238 I guess the bung would need to be supported on rollers to keep the job running OK on the blade.

    • @peroduanippa
      @peroduanippa 4 года назад

      @@ramazanevrensel6535 Ovality is usually caused by the wrong height of the workpiece, the centre of the workpiece should always be above that of the wheels, another cause could be debris on the control wheel or even a worn work rest blade. Also if your spark out time is not long enough this could be another cause. I used to have a graph chart on mine that I could work out the ideal height for the diameter but it was lost so i did a bit of guess work from experience and all seemed to be OK, the height on mine was set with a setting finger that was probably bent anyway.The work that I done was checked on a vee block and dial gauge and .0002" total indicator reading was usually achieved.

      @@peroduanippa First of all, thank you for your interest. The value you capture is very nice 0.0002 "makes about 0.0051mm in diameter. My aim is to keep this value at 0.003mm, ie 0.00011". I guess we will mutually benefit from our experience. Please give me an e-mail address. I explain it with images and share the formula for calculating the height.
