Hi great video, our awning pillars don't seem to stand up straight but bulge and wobble, any ideas?
can i ask a silly question, you have the plastic awning pieces in 3, that attach the awning to the van, mine is 1 solid piece and is a pain to pack, can i just cut the thing in 2 or 3 ?
Hi, you could just cut them as long as its a clean cut and doesn't snag. Failing that you can buy a new kit for £26 from Vango www.vango.co.uk/driveaway-kit-for-6mm--6mm-rails-3m-set
Great video, thank you, we've been struggling keeping the figure of 8 in place the stoppers should do the trick.
Het, thanks for the video. I am just aboir to ourchase this awning. How about reattaching to the awning when you return with your van? How you you do that without aetting up from scratch as you did at the atart of this video?
It’s a lot easier if you have a swivel base on the double bench seat and turn it round before you pop the top - gives you a bit more room to manoeuvre…
Hi do u need to buy the fugure of 8 parts and the webbibg bit seperately thanks
if you attached the awning to the awning rail, and then attached that to the fabric you put on first step, does that mean you could put up the awning on your own?
I have a new Fiat Ducato Campervan and have now also purchased a Vango Galli 3 to with it. I just attached it to the camper and put it up on my own. Took me about an hour. Have to say though that what came out of the new Vango bag was not even vaguely similar to the super job of packing the young lady on the video achieved. The mess in that bag was a disgrace and just looked as though someone had simply crammed it in last thing on the busy Friday. I have been camping for about fifty years and have never seen a new tent or awning arrive in that state.
I always check that the side are tucked in properly so as they don't get trapped before I fully close the pop top.. 😂
What van is this please x
Nice video - how much does this swivel base raise the height of the seating position? I feel like it must do by at least a couple of inches, but your bench seat still looks at the same level as your driver seat...
Looks like a lot of struggling
Brilliant. That's exactly the awning we need . Thank you so much for you demonstration and advice you have saved us so much time looking . 😊 keep it up 😊
Hi, is there a possibility that the van,or the fixed awning, might not have a rail to slip the awning tent rail to?
Thank you - I'm following quite a lot of VW Camper videos as I would like to buy one soon! May I ask, do the front seats recline back and forth and up and down at all - they look like they are fixed. Thank you
Hi, no the front passenger seats are fixed.
Lovely bird.
What brand is the awning ?
Hi, its a Thule awning.
2:01 I’ve just discovered a little trick which no one mentioned to us either. When you unlatch the grey plastic coated securing latch, you can then twist it and fold flat THEN lift it up and secure it on what turns out to be a magnetic press stud in the ceiling. It is then securely stowed out the way for the lift and importantly for the lowering. Hopefully that makes sense and is useful to someone.
Fab tour!
Does the awning have to connect to the keder rails? Is there a way of having guide ropes for that tunnel that go over the roof of the van and peg to the opposite side? Seems way more logical than having to position the van so accurately...?
Hi Patrick, no i don't believe there are, however, you can roll the tunnel bit up if you don't want to use it.
In case you missed them, you have buttons on the back of the steering wheel. Left side track/station forward/backward centre button reverse camera on. Right side volume up /down centre button can’t remember, sorry. Edit: xzent head unit software upgrade and functionality gone!
Also you need to do a visual check from outside that the canvas hasn’t been trapped & is sticking out between the pop top & the roof of the van before you finally tighten the two front securing straps.
Thats actually the GALLI 2 the 3 is way way bigger
It’s best to do this with the door or a window open due to the displacement of air, the roof is effectively a large bellows !
How do you climb in though?
Cool !
Great video! Our arrives in June! Can't wait. Haven't actually seen one in real life yet 🙄😁
Thank you for the video. May I ask what bike rack you have, I also have barn doors on my van and notice you have a rack that fits under the spoiler.
Hi Tim, the bike rack is a Fiamma, we have had a lot of people ask us about this, it came fitted to the van and there are actually holes in the spoiler that the rack goes through, i believe it has been made to fit rather than made to measure if that makes sense.
Very good video, really helpful. Thank you! 😊
Intéressant
Those are called cam buckles, not crocodile clips.
Does she come with the motor home or separately? 😁
Sorry but if you look at all the other videos you will see that you should NOT extend the awning all the way without the support legs down as this puts undue strain on the mounting assembly. Lower the legs when you have a enough of the awning wound out that you can reach it to take the weight and then reposition the legs when the awning is wound fully out. I would advise this video is taken down and shot again when other videos on the same topic have been viewed as the method shown will in time almost certainly damage the mounting assembly 😟😟😟😟😟😟
How are you supposed to do it if the legs are mounted to car instead to ground?
@@DuBstep115 I’m sorry you’ve lost me. My comment applied to what the video showed and how from my own experience and watching several videos one from the manufacturer you should use the legs and not leave this type of awning unsupported during erecting. Your comment about a car is I imagine related to a different scenario and not to the one being discussed. I would be interested to hear a more detailed description of what you’re comment is referring to.
@@stevebeale2187 You are correct. Thule say to only open it by 1 metre before lowering the legs. however I'm not sure a lot of people could reach if it was only extended I metre. Re @DuBstep 115 comment. I think they are referring to an awning which is supported by legs that attach to the body of the motorhome not the ground.
Thank you ever so much 🤗
Such a great video!! Thanks.
Really well demonstrated.. thank you 👍
hi there, where can i get the stoppers for the figure of eight strip please?
Hi, We bought them from the below but they are also available on Amazon. 👍 www.justkampers.com/ac0301-kampa-dometic-pair-of-6mm-awning-rail-stopper.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIopyO9vjk-AIVCrDtCh09HguEEAQYBCABEgLQefD_BwE
Thanks for the demo on getting the awning back into the bag there is definitely a nack to it 😎👍🏻
I was disappointed seeing the dog just sat there watching you struggle to roll the awning back up, could have given you a hand
different to the one in the van we are getting, but still helpful, cheers Trev
Looks a fantastic place, and your dog is gorgeous
looks easy enough :-)
Good video for a complete novices for me and my wife :-) We pick up our first camper van on Saturday ( July 9tth 2022) can't wait :-) We are at the moment watching lots of videos regarding setting up ext, thanks again :-)
Thanks, we are glad you find them helpful. If there’s anything else you think might help you just let us know. Great, you will absolutely love it, may see you on a campsite one day 😎 enjoy the new van!
@@camperway4061 You may regret saying that as we will have loads of questions lol. Cheers Trev
Hi, please can you tell me where you got the bike rack? I was led to believe you can’t fit them on vans with a trim like yours. Cheers 👍
Hi Ivor, unfortunately I couldn’t tell you as it came with the van when we purchased it. I can tell you it’s made by Fiamma though!
@@camperway4061 thank you.
Great video 👍😀
Any chance you could do another video where you show the re attachment process of the awning after you have been away for the day ,many thanks
Hi Shane, no problem, as soon as we have it up again we’ll pop another video on.
Great video.. thanks for sharing
