Corrections: bar 325 G natural should be G sharp Bar 365 beat 2 should be C natural Bar 366 should be ff Somehow I forgot to put in measures 372-376. Just pretend bars 380-384 are those missing measures. Original video: ruclips.net/video/-Ngn_CYMiw4/видео.html
Is there a way I can buy this transcription?
many thanks. where the sheets @ alice? patreon?
Do you give lessons?? You're absolutely amazing!
Thanks a bunch!
it’s hard to find Steve Lacy transcriptions, I’ve been looking for this thanks!
Lacy worked Monk's stuff well with all the chords and what could be worked out at the time...Lacy was a great, intelligent and gifted musician. Starting out with Dixie, then Cecil Taylor... he brought a lot more to the table than some who only played chords. He created melodies and atmospheres with a precise concept. We never listen to him enough and we miss him. Thanks for the transcription and the work.
o7 This must've been a real grind.

wow - really impressive work ; thanks for sharing this. Pretty inspiring
Great!!!!
Nice to see you get the time signature right this time
wow, Terrific job! Is it possible to download the score? I know its pointless for me, its impossible to play this perfectly 🤣 but you know you can't resist giving it a try
instant sub!
<3
a lot f similarities to Say's Black Earth. Makes sense both are rooted in the same music traditions
so good!! thank you man his rhythms are incredible. i think tigran is one of the few pianists today who really have a distinctive style. one of my absolute essentials in a piece of music is a very strong motif. such an amazing sound. augh. this is inspiring me to compose!!
Great 👍
oh my god this is so cool
Amazing. How long did it take you to transribe?
probably like 11-15 hours
I wonder if Chris Potter is influenced by this guy. His tone sounds similar. Or, more likely, they both share influences.
It was probably a nightmare to transcribe this "Dream" ! Nice job. Congratulation.
recorder jazz ensemble goes crazy
This is great!
Thanks! And I really enjoyed your charts as well!
amazing
Whoa, nice!
Wow impressive work, especially with the rhythmic difficulty and how long piece is!
Blows my mind... How anybody keeps those wildly fractured 5:4 polyrhythms straight in their head on top of the 6/8 I'll never know. Making sense of this is a huge achievement - nice work!
These are traditional Armenian folk songs. Check out Gomidas or Komitas depending on the transliteration
In first two bars, time signature should be 2/1, with a dotted half note long upbeat and a fermata on the G# in the second bar, which lasts only for an eigth note. I assume it continues that way but I can't be bothered.
it's in 10/8. The piece is literally called "Ten Tune"
@@alicehu0 the piece is literally wrong
@@Whatismusic123 nah man i asked God and he said it was right
@@alicehu0 anyways just learn to use your ears and hear tempo. the piece may be written as if, and intended to be in 10/8, but it failed, and subsequently is both terrible and embarrassing as its entire gimmick is broken. same problem as when people fail to transcribe the counterpoint in c418 wet hands
@@Whatismusic123 The composer disagrees plus it's correctly been transcribed in 10/8 as the metre is broken up into two large beats comprised of five 1/8th notes each... In other words it's in 10/8. This interpretation is also supported by the fact that the song _feels_ like an "oddified" (not a real word lol) version of 6/8 where the two large beats of the time signature are broken up into fives instead of threes. In other words, 10/8 also makes sense on an intuitive level. If we actually followed your asinine suggestion of notating the two large beats into dotted 1/2th notes, then the counterpoint in Mehldau's LH would be in a constant polyrhythm against the six 1/8th notes that comprise a dotted 1/2th note. TL;DR: You have no clue what you're talking about. Go back to transcribing Minecraft, it suits you better.
This transcription itself is art
Booker was incredible, thanks!
Crazy
Good work, that's some tricky stuff.
Thanks for your work and introducing this intriguing musician to me.
Impressive! Do you have a PDF download link?
@@alicehu0 could you please share it again <3 I think link is not working anymore???
Asking the same as @karolpiql; if there still exists a pdf of the notes I would be very greatfull if you couls share it.
