… I also use the Lee hand presses that take the conventional dies and will fit easily into a briefcase … much more versatile than the legacy Lee loaders … I have a RCBS Rockchucker press which I haven’t used in years … my favourite 30-30 Win & 45-70 loads are all “dipper loads” constructed without the use of scales
… you need to get a Lee case trimmer to trim those cases … that’s why they’re harder to get into the sizing die on subsequent reloads
… I saw a RUclips video of an older bushy bearded guy reloading 45-70 on a stump that did it the same way as you
… except faster 🫤
@@DouglasPrice-p9q yea, he’s been using these reloaders for whole lot more years than me. Log cabin looms is his Chanel, he is a wealth of information
Thank you for making this video; I feel less stupid.
@@colloidalsilver1096 your quite welcome and honesty I felt a bit stupid myself doing it the first time. I got another one I’m gonna do on the same set up but 30-06 sometime in the future
What scope rings can you use for this scope?
@@FrankCastle-jj4rd when I mounted it to my savage I used plain weaver medium mounts
Reloaded for 30+ years on presses and just watched some of logcabinlooms videos on these. Now own Lee Classics in 300 Sav, 30-30 and 270 Win. Wanted something I could use at the bench or just try new things with. Barnes Originals in 190's for the 30-30 and 255 for the 375 Win are in my future. Thx!
The 30 Remington was a rimless round for their model 8. It was, quite frankly, a rimless 30-30. It was a sister cartridge to the 25 Remington and the 35 Remington. The 35 Remington still has a following east of the Mississippi and is still viable.
To much trouble NM m
Great Job on this. I have 357,44, 3030. They work good. Going to find me 20 and 12 guage next. Then I am set. Thank You for sharing this.
@@reedmitchell6716 thank you sir
The secondary Lee company that made the shotgun loaders is no longer in business, and the primary company hasn't ever taken them up for production. That means you have to look at the used markets to find them. All is not lost, though. A similar kit is made by "X-ring USA." Available in 12, 20, & 410 last time I looked.
@@kirkboswell2575 Thank You I will check them out.
🗣️Sir, what rifle were you using ? Barrel length ? Twist rate ? Weight of bullet ? Try using a lighter bullet, like the 130gr or 140gr in .308 caliber. SEMPER FI 🇺🇸🤠
Thanks mate, for the belted magnum tips. Do you use the Belted Magnum Collet Resizing Die system by Innovative Tech ? Or is there an equivalent die you could recommend to do the job- full length. Rifle - howa 1500 heavy barrel Bullet - monolithic copper 168 grain Power - Winchester star ball powder for magnums multi Temp range. Projectile - coated with Boron Nitride dry powder barrel life saver. Chassis - MDT oryx Weight 15 pounds. Omega suppressor Falcon strike - Hydraulic recoil arrestor for stock. Aim - to fire flat shooting bullets 1000 meters with minimum damage to rifle and bullet case with low recoil with the punch of a Magnum Thanks Andrew New Zealand.

I just wanted to let you know, videos like this pisses people up. Is more like a commercial. The reason I am telling you this is because I like your videos and I think you have potential. Always teach something, don't do videos to tell people you're going to do something in the future. I wasted 3 minutes
Thanks for the input and I am sorry for that, I got busy and got side tracked with other things and forgot all about it, again sorry, I’ll make it my next priority
The only problem I had with mine it wasn’t accurate. I couldn’t get it to hit tried two scopes iron sites and steal the same problem. I had to send it back to see what was wrong with it.
Ive got 5 BCA's in three different flavors, all run smooth!! .223 WYLDE, 2 in 7.62x39 and 2 in 450BM not the 1st hiccup.
Thank you for this very sensible video. Much appreciated.
Cool shooting bench. My be the first shot was just the cold bore shot?
Yes that first shot was a cold bore
The reason for your 100fps less in stated mv, is likely due to your shooting a shorter barrel (16”?), when the load is tested out of a 20”bbl (as stated on the box)
Yep, you’re right and I should have pointed that out but sometimes I forget not everybody would have picked up on that like you did. Bolt guns in tht caliber are becoming more and more popular but figured if someone was watching my video they probably were buying or already might have an AR platform
@@cedarhillkennels3252 I have an AR platform with a 20” barrel. Yet it has a carbine gas system. Was a giant headache until I got a correct weight buffer for it (many out there have cycling issues due to this). Love your content.
@@anthonyperotti151 thank you sir. As you can tell I’m just getting started with this stuff. Hopefully things will get better as I get a newer, better camera hopefully this spring or early summer and also get my daughter on board to help me with the editing stuff
Ballistol, Lucas clp extreme, and choke grease is my go to. Never had any issues. I also use mink oil for my flintlock. I believe if you listen to the old timers you'll learn how to take care of your stuff not just guns. My grandfather used wd40 and his guns looked brand new through his life.
I just bought one from a gun store in Abingdon, VA. I'm getting 1/2 groups with factory ammo (Norma 140g Tipstrike). I harvested 2 Does, and my cousin got a buck with it. Great gun.
Thinking of getting one in 300 win mag in about a month or two. Good to hear some opinions/reviews of this model. Accuracy i've heared is dang good for what you pay. Bergara i hear also tends to be consistantly good quality no matter how cheap or expensive. Good video, brother!
Useful info. Thanks from Michigan.
My local gun store has these scopes. They even have the Sig Sauer Whiskey scopes. You can take the little adjustment knob off. It does hit the bolt action on the rifle.
How long does it take to ship? I've ordered the 7.62x39 upper and it's been over a week and it's still processing.
I got mine within a week. I’d give them a call, maybe they are busy and backed up. I can’t really speak to their customer service, I got mine in a reasonable time frame
The 06 is an awesome round. I have a Westernfield 06 Mauser action that is a pleasure to shoot and will outlast me and a few of my offspring! The Mod 70 is a child of that action and deserves a lot of respect. Thank you for your honest review.
Nosler are great bullets . My 350 Legend from BCA side charging upper is mated with a Palmetto State Armory lower . The first time out with it I had some feeding issues. I change mags to Dura Mag issue seems to be corrected. BCA has come a long way since their beginning. All the way with BCA.
Used to have the same gun. Loved that gun. I always shot the Winchester 100gr deer season out of mine
I have this upper I have done no modifications whatsoever to either the gun nor the 3 mags I got for it. I’m also running a BCA lower. 2300+ rounds never had a single misfire light strike stove pipe or jam. I ran roughly 220 browning 124g (I think not positive) through it before anything else. Now I can run anything with no problems. I tell everybody to run the Browning before you do anything else including the magazine modification and I know for a fact I have helped several people with their jamming issue. Take from it what you Will good luck to everybody. Just for the record, there are quite a few not only manufacturers types of rounds. The 350 legend is unique in that it can run any 9 mm base projectile whether that is 357 magnum or 38 special or 350 legend unique rounds. Underwood to Winchester it really just takes a little bit of effort to look around but I still recommend everybody start with the browning
Yes you can run 9mm bullets through it but it’s well documented that the pistol bullets are not built to expand correctly at the higher velocities the legend makes and guys have had problems with them on game, some have no problems with pistol bullets, I won’t chance it, that’s just me, pistol bullets weren’t designed to be run in that cartridge. They work well for plinking but I wouldn’t take the chance on a buck of a lifetime
@@cedarhillkennels3252 sorry I must not of explained it correctly. Only run them if you’re having issues til everything breaks in, basically plinking. After it’s broken in it’ll run anything. I was aware of the problems people were having with the 350 before I purchased it. But I also know people tend to gravitate towards pointy bullets and point rounds tend to jam if they aren’t fed perfectly. So I went out and found the roundest ammo I could and ran a few hundred rounds to break it in. Now I run whatever I feel like and never have any issues.
@@cedarhillkennels3252 modifying parts to force it into functioning is not fixing it. It’s putting a bandaid over the problem and hoping it goes away. There’s a problem called tolerance stacking that can cause the platform to fail to function for no apparent reason. Some manufacturers do this unintentionally. They make the parts to a spec and they aren’t always perfect. In these cases it can be a nightmare to track down the issues and most of the time once everything has worn in the issue isn’t there anymore. So the goal is to get to that point where the tight tolerances are no longer an issue. The problem with doing modifications is once that braking occurs you can have dangerous consequences for that Band-Aid. In these cases, it’s best to find a way to get the gun to operate without modification. I.e. a round capable of easing the functionality until break in can occur. Hope all that makes sense. It seems about 50-50 people understand what I’m trying to convey. Lol
@@darkoneokc I didn’t modify the rifle one bit, I modified a couple of 223/556 magazines to allow for the bigger diameter bullets to work. The two cmmg 350 specific mags I have perform flawlessly I did polish the chamber and the feed ramps, that’s not a fix or modification but an enhancement, should have been done before it left the manufacture. I understand what your trying to convey but I don’t have issues with my build, I guess you missed the part where I said I had zero issues with mine
@@cedarhillkennels3252 no I heard it but I always try to post this response or something similar to it and everyone of these BCA videos. There’s a lot of people looking for help and since yours is a new video it’s gonna probably be the first one to pop up on their feed if they search it.
Did you ever do a 2nd video on the buckmaster?
I have not, I thought I was gonna put it on a rifle I had just picked up at the time but I went with leupold instead
That lever you do not like IS REMOVABLE. Just unscrew it. nice extended nub still there, and not intrusive. Right hand threads. Counter clockwise to remove.
Was looking at this as option on my 30 cal hunting rifle , does it seem to hold up well to recoil?
I can’t honestly say yet, I just don’t have anything at the moment that needs a new scope
Next time list the bullet weight, seating depths, load development, target results, rifle, barrel, twist rate, etc. This was 3 minutes of not much, but I'm interested to see where this goes with your 308 and these TTSX's.
Its your bullet seating depth. TTSX are extremely accurate once you find the right seating depth
Hang in there. Next time you could tell us the grain weight of the bullet. You could try seating them a little deeper.
