Water Preps 101: Beginner's Guide to Being Ready for a Water Emergency
Просмотров 286 месяцев назад
Even in the wettest area of one of the wettest countries in the world, we had a hosepipe ban for 9 months last year. If that wasn't enough, our rivers are overflowing with sewage, and areas are being told to boil water for cryptosporidium outbreaks. You should absolutely be ready for a local water emergency. 3 Lessons Owning Land Has Taught Me About Collapse
Просмотров 226Год назад
The modern world is so abstract and complex that many of us have forgotten the fundamental lessons our ancestors knew by heart: the wisdom that nature provides. One of our primary motivations in moving here to Cornwall was to own some land and become a little more self-sufficient. It doesn't just offer space to build or grow; it provides profound insights into nature's cycles, its strengths, an...
5 Things You (Probably) Didn't Know You Could Compost
Просмотров 284 года назад
There's a lot of myths out there about what you can and can't compost, but the general rule of thumb is that if it came from the ground or a natural source, it can go back there. Here's 5 things you probably didn't realise you can actually compost.
These are excellent and the best yet!!
i like my acebeam H16 ....BUT ist is china crap ................ in high mode the light is flickering
I haven't noticed any flickering on this one, for what it's worth.
Some things to know: This light comes in a super throwy cool white low CRI SFT-25R LED, or a regular throwy Nichia 519R high CRI neutral white. Both have a dual switch set up that makes the UI confusing. Plus, the length makes it awkward to pocket carry. I returned mine. The regular TAC AA is the better light IMO.
Hi, thanks for the review, you covered important aspects. Does it get considerably hot between the high & turbo mode?
Hey, sorry for the late reply! I left it on high from the rear switch for at least five minutes. Body was fine to grab - lens cap area got a bit warm, but nothing unusual. I think ambient temperatures probably play a big part too, but my house is bloody freezing!
@@earthwisesurvivor Thanks for the update! ✨
The Skilhunt H200 18350 and 18650 are better. What wavelength is the red light in the H35? It uses the Cree XPE, while the Skilhunt H200 uses the Cree XP-E2 620nm-630nm. Which LED is better?
Was just on sale on amazon for 25$ and now for 30$ going to pick one up today!
He yI would like to give you a like. I´m waiting in your cellar. Don´t call the police. I brought my grandmothers teeth as well if you like to try them on.
In general a nice headlamp, but neither the brightest nor the most practical red light feature. I wish Acebeam would add adjustable brightness for the red led. Red is supposed to be stealthy... No records for red. The Armytek Wizard C2 WR is on the market for years and has up to 230 Lumen in red mode.
Ah, I suspect they're claiming brightest red for a headlamp because that one isn't technically a headlamp? It looks more like a flashlight that happens to be light enough to strap on your head. But yeh, fair point. Slightly dimmer red mode would be good.
cool
I think I'll stick with my Emisar DW4 + Skilhunt HB3 headband, but Acebeam usually makes good products, so this might be a good option for some people. Also, the runtime graph sucks. The distance between 100 and 200 lumens is the same as the distance between 1000 and 2000 lumens. Very deceptive. Shame on you.
That was taken from the Acebeam site; I didn't pick up on that, so thank you.
I've never really felt the need for such a high-powered headlights even for Search and Rescue purposes with State Emergency Services of Australia where I actually prefer a good handheld, as does just about everybody else on the team. For that I'm using a Fenix C7 at the moment. A headlight for close quarters work especially map reading and so on is an essential and for that I use the Nightcore nu25. Anyway, I suppose it's horses for courses and thanks for a great video
AceBeam makes some excellent flashlights, but you should also check out the Nebo Davinci range. These lights are exceptionally bright and maintain their output on high for a good amount of time. The only downside is that they still use Micro USB for charging, which feels outdated. Hopefully, Nebo will update this feature soon!
I recently discovered AceBeam and purchased the Pokelit AA in Gray. It’s a fantastic little flashlight, and I got it for just £23-a great value for the quality. Shortly after, I came across the TAC AA model, which I also decided to buy. At only £22, it's an incredible bargain for a 1600-lumen rechargeable torch! I ordered it from China, so I'm still waiting on delivery, which I expect to arrive tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to testing it out.
Ooh, it's a steal at that price, nice!
I never realised the packing stuff was made of starch, assumed it was styrofoam. And composting nappies, who knew!?
Have you looked into bleach purification? Doesn't taste great but you won't die of thirst either.
Good plan, I totally overlooked that. It's actually quite hard to buy plain bleach in the supermarkets now here though, they only sell the scented crap.
@@earthwisesurvivor I'm sure you could use that in an emergency, do you have those cheap shops where you live? Like Dollar Tree? They might have it. I googled "unscented bleach" and got plenty of hits here (Western Australia) mostly from the eco-brands. Good luck.
I do tend to agree that the light is kind of a niche package, but I also think the versatility is great. I tend to find times where the laser is useful for pointing things out at work and the UV light comes in handy for working on vehicles or engines, checking hotel rooms if you travel, even curing UV based resins or nail polish for the women in your life. MOST of the time, I do think I'd prefer a slightly throw-ier, high CRI light for daily tasks, but I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything when actually using the light for every day. I live in a rural area, so sometimes the purely flood beam is a little too short range for my outdoor needs, but that's why I have other lights. Overall I've loved my Arkfeld Ultra but it definitely isn't the best EDC flashlight, because the flashlight is 1/3 of what you're getting and therefore 1/3 of the focus when designing the light. It's a do-it-all tool that is easy to carry.
I believe the blue one is better, different LED, I love it.
“There’s no functional reason to have a long shaft.” I try to tell my wife that every night, but she just won’t listen
Great video thank you. Just ordered an Ultra.
Now chickens have to be register in UK, for safety of people and safety of chickens 😅😂😂😂
Yes, anything under 30 was exempt before, but now even a single hen means you need to register. In fairness, Bird Flu has gotten worse every year, lasting for many months where your hens have to be on lockdown. It's difficult to tell people that if they're not registered.
could you leave in a car year around in your latitudes?
Not a good idea - the temperature variations will damage the battery. I don't think it would explode as such, but it would certainly lower the lifespan. Even at my latitudes :) best to get in the habit of bringing it with you.
It can “USE” or do you mean it can only fit 2x21700 batteries but the tail switch wont work? Thats confusing. Also 7.4v battery is lower than 2 cell that reaches 8.4v at max charge assuming the tc works, voltage for 2 cell is stilly risky Need to clarify that information because on a high stress situation a back up 2x21700 battery goes a long way.
It comes with a custom long battery, which is required to use the tail switch. You can use two 21700 batteries instead, but you'll lose the tail switch function.
The included battery is 8.4V fully charged.
Just what I was searching, for cracking coconuts that is.
Nice review. 👌
Fantastic video buddy 😊
You have to turn down the background music in the mix. I agree with all you have said. Having grown up on a farm in the USA I know all about battling the forest. Eventually the forest will win.
Well, the neighbor's backyard was unmown (breakdown and parts backordered) for about six weeks at the peak growing season this spring/summer and the weeds, thistles and burrs, grass and garden plants shot up over my head by the time they got back there to beat it back into submission. My wildlife (well supplemented) even migrated over there during those parts of the growth cycle that benefited them best.
With you on that subject. I also have 2acres it is a full time job 😮😅
😁😁😁👍👍👍
