We spent half of a day at Mammoth Cave National Park. We came unprepared, but we learned a lot! Several key things that we learned: 1. It's Cold In There! 2. People are supposed to buy cave tour tickets in advance! (Who Knew?) 3. There's plenty to explore without being in a tour group! 4. Boys like bats! 5. What goes down the hill, must come up the hill! We took advantage of the mild February weather and took a roadtrip from St. Louis to the Chicagoland area to explore another National Park. We only had half a day to explore, but we squeezed in a couple of short hikes and the boys completed their Jr. Ranger program!
