Great footage! I’m deciding between Momi, Intercontinental, & Sheraton Tokoriki. Since you stayed at both, which would you recommend for food quality, ambiance, and beach? Did you prefer one over the other? Thanks in advance!

Thank you!! Momi bay had better food and ambiance, but Sheraton had better views because its on an island! And the vibes from the staff were way more nurturing which made the experience special!

I honestly think if you want privacy, quiet, and snorkeling, Sheraton, if you want slightly more luxury and to be able to go to a nearby town, Momi bay!

You’re white not Nigerian. Furthermore, Africans Never Sought Out Europeans, it was Europeans whom Sought out Africa. The few African tribes that participated in the slave trade was not the bulk of the slave trade, nor the engine that powered the slave trade & if you think that, you’re naive. Whilst it was entire European Nations that had Slave Voyages funded by the Church & elite merchant class, guised under missionary work but it was really to enslave Africans such as with the Portuguese. Other European nations included the British, French, Dutch & the Spanish🤨

Black Americans definitely have a culture, everything you see in the UNITED STATES is Black American culture. Why do you keep saying African American as if you are referring to people who just immigrated to the U.S.?. Black Americans in the U.S. hear persons from the continent of Africa saying black Americans have no culture all the time.

Also African Americans are also a part of every great thing that American did, like sending people to space, winning wars and technology.

The original goal of MLK, "I believe" was to integrate black people into white people society. It was masked behind "equal rights" to the amendments. Integration slowly turned into assimilation when many blacks started to have a crave or want to be like white people. Some blacks back then fought to eat at white people restaurants, but white people never fought to eat at black people restaurants. Black people had their own business, black Wall Street, but behind MLK many black people left their black communities because they "craved" being accepted and being like white people. I stand more for what Malcom X stood for. Unfortunately his background made it easy for whites to discredit him. But what he stood for "self-reliance, black communities, and self-defense". You are a VERY smart woman, beautiful, and educated and you know your history. PLEASE continue to pass down this knowledge. That is what we can do in our community is educate.

Language, traditional foods, traditional clothing, beliefs, customs, religion etc make up culture. I wouldn't claim African American culture as my culture. This is why knowing your history is so important and that soul food has been a curse to since we've been stripped of our real culture.

By the way you are correct. Thai people will laugh at Blacks, and they consider the women cows because they are shaped different. Thais know and don't care. They would rather a Ukrainian with no credentials teaching their child because of the color. They feel European means white, and Blacks are dumb. This is why most Thais can't speak English although they have had untrained foreign teachers coming here for years. The best thing about Thailand is the cost of living and it is safer than America. Brown Thais are nicer by the way. I only shop online to avoid being cheated with inflated prices due to being American.

They put Blacks predominantly in small towns or public schools. The better paying international school positions are reserved for anyone white. Racism exists in Thailand. The salary for Blacks is $1200 USD or less. Most likely less. International school positions can range from over $3000 USD monthly. China and Taiwan respect education a bit more so salaries are fairer there and really based on your credentials. Although some schools like BASIS still prefer white skin no matter if you have a Master's degree and fully licensed. They will not even give you an interview if you are Black.

Our ancestors have paved a great path for us , and melting pot ideology can open up for culture thievery, and the European/white Americans are definitely not erasing their culture that stems from the various European Nations that are in the different regions on the Continent of Europe. Our culture as African Descended Americans is a combination pieces of various cultures from the entire African Diaspora, and that combination of cultures combined, and shared amongst our African Descended American Peoples, and combination is like jazz music, and jazz music fuses different jazz music styles, and jazz music genres to become a unique presentation of music, and music forms

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Colonialism owned and colonized the identity of the slaves. I believe the title of your question suggests we don't know our history and identify thua cannot articulate our culture. Pertaining to national identity the colors Black & White, race, ethnicity, African -American are misnomers. Africa was named after a Roman P.S. Scipio Africanus. America was named by Germans after an Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci. An aspect of culture is language and the language of the descendants of slaves before colonization was Hebrew.Yes our culture is so rich and glorious. The history, culture, and identify of the slaves are documented in the musical format of the Negro Spirituals. African-Americans, Dominicans, Afro-Latinos, Haitians, Jamaicans etc are one nation with common identity, history, and culture as the descendants of the transatlantic slave trade to America America's.
