I "saw" what you did. Did you get a new saw? I had not notice that before. Great views! Thank you for all your hard work! It looks cold up there.
Looks good
That's rough terrain out there. Not so easy to do trail maintenance. But you guys do a great job. Thank you.
Wow! Looking good. Thank you for all the work, I see you got out before the big snow storm , LOL!
Great work, as always. Beautiful fall colors along workman. What part of the trail was that rough, bushy section? Thanks again for all the hard work. It IS appreciated.
Good work, Thank you.
Thanks for clearing Moody. How far was your maintenanc?
I think we'll hit the Rim Trail in a week or two.
Amazing area. Another trail maintenance miracle that you performed. Thank you so much. I hope to get up there soon to enjoy the fall colors before winter comes.
Nice work! Are there two ways to access the Devils Chasm Overlook - Moody Point Trail and Murphy? W=If so, which is easiest and which is shortest? Thanks for all the hard work.
Murphy is the way to go right now. We haven't worked Moody in a while.
Thank you for the M&R on my birthday. I appreciate your work.
You put in quite a long day, and you accomplished a lot. Thank you.
👍🙌
Outstanding work as usual. It sure saves time for not having to dodge all the downed trees. I wish someone would do that for the Ballantine Trail on Pine Mt. in the Four Peaks. I've been up there several time without success. I always run out of time. I guesss I'll just have to camp out sometime. Keep up the good work and be careful in the heat.
Wonderful! Can you get all the way through on the rim trail now? I was turned back a few years ago by a mass of New Mexico Locust.
I doubt that. You can get from Murphy to just around Cold Spring Canyon easily. It looked rough past there to the Pueblo Canyon Overlook. We had the portion of the Rim Trail between Murphy and Moody pretty clear in 2022, but it looks overgrown again from what I could see. Things grow fast up there! 🌲
Another good job of trail maintenance. Thank you!
Looks good Did you go all the way to the Rim Trail?
Yes we did. Next up will be the Rim Trail to the Pueblo Canyon Overlook.
@@anchagladtrailz When you do that you can look for my hand clippers. They fell out of my pouch when I had to roll over that extra thick log blocking the trail 😮
@@phillivingston8237 Are you talking about the big log on the rim trail? We didn't see them there, but we'll look next time.
Nice day to be out in the wilderness. Thanks for freeing up the trail.
That is hard work clearing the trail. Thank you!!! I hope to hike Center Mountain via Reynolds very soon.
Good work as usual. Thanks for what you do,
Nice work. Thank you.
Lots of tough work. Thank you!
❤
Thank you. Some day I may hike this trail.
Thank you.
Thank you for providing trail maintenance on the trail.
Thank you for sharing this! My grandfather was Norwin Dixon, the man that was lost up there. We have a new cross to put up there but the last time we tried going up there it was too overgrown.
Nice work. It looks cold up there. Were any of those foot prints mine?
Thanks Phil. Well, there was only one set of footprints, so you tell me! :)
I'm sure that the snow had already melted after my hike. Thank you for the work you guys do..@@anchagladtrailz
Nice work, as always. Looks like all that snow melted. Any snow forecasted for the next couple of weeks?
Thanks, Phil. We are expecting snow up there, but hopefully that won't keep us away for too long!
Nice work! Thank you for the sub-title mention!
Thank you for all your hard work!
Is that sign at the beginning near the norther terminus? I had not hiked to the falls since 2018, We hiked past the falls and encountered signs that were on the ground,
That's right, Phil. We were working the northern part of the trail that day.
Nice work, as always. I was up there on 12/02/23 to hike the Reynolds Creek trail. I stopped off at the Parker Creek T.H. and saw two small water pools with a thin ice coating. Then I enjoyed a short hike onto the Reynolds and admired much of your tree trunk cutting and rock pile cairns, I also enjoyed being the first person to hike on the snowy trail. Too bad I got my car stuck or I could have hiked farther. Keep up the good work, Maybe one day our paths will cross.
We noticed the remnants of your car getting stuck today. That may appear in the next video.
Was that Knolls Hole at the end of the video?
From Murphy's Ranch, how far is it to Knolls Hole, I hiked there in the snow on 12/02/23. but turned back after an hour of hiking. By the way, the trail was easy to follow. You guys did a great job of Trail M & R..
Thank you for all the hard work. Are the Aspens turning fall colors yet?
Nice work.
Great video, as always! Thanks for taking down that grey log. Any apples left? Time an gas money has kept me from getting up there.
Thanks Phil, we didn't go down that far, as we were working from the top. There are probably apples left, though. I know a group went up there today with kids, so you may have to reach up way high! 😉
Hey Phil, were you up there doing some clearing? It looked like someone else was, other than us.
@@anchagladtrailz Not recently. I did a group hike on the Murphy and Rim trail on 09-04-23. I have not been on the Abbey's Way Trail since 09-05-22. It must have been someone else. It's nice to have other people help. Thanks for what you do.
Great video! Thank you for all the hard work. We have a meetup group coming up om 09/94/23. We will be hiking to the Devils Chasm Overlook. How is the Moody Point Trail? I may coax them to do the short hike to Peterson's Meadow. Can't wait to get back there. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
We haven't looked at the Moody Point Trail yet this year. After Abbey's Way we'll probably work on Murphy's Ranch, Moody Point and the Rim Trail between those two. That's if we don't get snowed out by then! It would be nice if we could get all that done. :)
Our group changed our plans. We took the Murphy Trail, the turned north on the Rim Trail. We visited Cold Springs and Pueblo Canyon Overlook. Then we took the short route to Edwards Spring before turning back. There was a muddy pool, but the run-off thru the grass was clear. Murphy Trail was easy to follow, but the foliage was draping over the trail a bit. The Rim trail wasn't too bad. Lots of felled trees in the clearings. That 3-4 ft in diameter tree trunk was a little hard for this 77 year old to roll over, but I made it okay - twice. We do appreciate all the trail Maintenace that you do. I posted a photo slideshow of the Murphy Trai, and a video of the Rim Trail. It could give you an idea of the trail conditions. Thank you so much.@@anchagladtrailz
Thanks for the trail work! I look forward to hiking this trail some day. And I love the music!
TY!
Great work guys! how may miles is the trail from Murphy northI am anxious to hike up there soon.
Thanks Phil. From the Murphy Ranch trailhead to the junction with the Reynolds Creek trail takes less than 5 minutes. It's very close.
@@anchagladtrailz If you drive on 288 past Workman Creek Road there is a pull-off for a hike to the Reynolds Falls. I have done that hike years ago. But the trail continues further. If you hike that trail to the aspens and beyond will it connect with the Murphy Trail. If so, how many miles is it between those the falls trailhead and the connection with the Murphy Trail? Thank you for all the work you guys do in the Anchas.
Thank you again for "ALL" the work you and your helper(s) did in this and other trails in the Sierra Anchas. I am eager to get up there soon to enjoy the fruits of your labor. The 110+ temperatures down here in the Apache Junction are keeping me fon hiking. It looks like the temps are much cooler up there. Thanks again! Your time and effort are appreciated😊
thank you good sir!! very special place
Looking great. Thanks for all the hard work.
You guys rock! Thanks so much!
You are my hero! I look forward to the day when one can once again hike the length of Rim Trail 139
WOW!! How much in real time did it take to get the job done? It looks like you used a wedge, As I was watching, the thought occurred to me that you might need one. Then, while you were trying to push the tree trunk, I thought, " Why don't they cut down a small tree to move it". Then, you did! Good thinking! You must have expended a lot of energy. You probably ate well at the restaurant. Thanks for the video and all of the hard work. How long in hours and miles was your hike? Thank you, again!
We were on the trail from about 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. The hike down from the upper Moody Point Trailhead to the Rim Trail junction is well under an hour now. That particular oak tree took well over an hour to cut and move. There was also other work. I think after we clear the Rim Trail to the Murphy Ranch Trail we'll be able to do a loop hike there in about 4 or 5 hours or so, not sure. It should make a nice day hike from the Phoenix area. I noticed the Murphy Ranch Trail needs some touch up since we were up there last June.
Great work! Thank you.
I had hiked part of this trail starting from Workman Creek Road. I only hiked about 1/4 to 1/2 mile. Did you begin there or Cheery Creek? Thank you two for doing the trail maintenance.
You should be able to easily follow it from Workman Creek Road down to the Rim Trail now
