FANTASTIC - GLORY TO JESUS

I'm in a cancer battle - 5 months now. On the day of diagnosis God said "Give thanks". Every day I now give thanks for everything (Eph 5:20). Jesus is proving his faithfulness as I share God's goodness to me and accept the situation and thank God for how he, through the Holy Spirit, can use it. Emmanuel! Maranatha!

The way you talk about cancer means the world to me. I’m a dude, diagnosed at 30yrs old with Multiple Myeloma (bone cancer). I’m 38 now. I’ve been on 6 mainline chemo treatments, I’ve had the port catheter, done tandem stem cell transplants, several rounds of radiation, a vertebroplastcy to repair a collapsed vertebrae, done a clinical trial because I was out of options… I’ve been in the fight. I’m weary and often in pain. It’s hard to talk about or describe to people so when I hear you, I think “yes, that’s what I wish I could say to people when describing it”. I spent the last decade in the wilderness ignoring God, set in my pride and self serving life. But he has allowed this suffering and brought me to my knees - I’ve finally surrendered. And so I thank him for allowing it. He knew this is what it would take.

Whats with Christians getting tats? It really isn't beneficial for the Faith and doesn't demonstrate Godliness in anyway shape or form. It draws attention to the flesh and is indulgent. I wonder what Chrisitians have collectively spent on getting tattooed and what that money could have done if channelled to where it is needed to help those who are literally starving or dying from treatable disease. It is actually sickening. I honestly believe the majority if not all will grow bored of the aesthetic novelty very soon and probably grow to regret having them done. Our bodies do not belong to us. Imagine someone loaned you a Ferrari and you went and had it modified, had a little art deco permanently painted on the body without their authority. When the owner comes to collect his vehicle I wonder how they will react? There is no text in the bible that authorises body modification. What is going on with the modern church?
