Cowabunga!!? Group Cheer Summer Circuit 2016
shit nothing explained
It is a complex device. If you are serious, try to acquire the book by Bill Belcher.
Thanks
Very cool. Thanks for this. Please learn to do a split screen on video - the back and forth is terrible.
You guys are still fabulous!!
I posted that for family. Didn't imagine somebody would watch. But it brings a tear to my eye for sure.
Very nice! There are lots of Lasers around for not much money, so a good boat to pick up and do something like this with. Good job!
But they cost more than they used to. Just getting old and too many boats. Restoring and sailing a Ranger 33 with passengers. The problem with the Laser is you can't rescue that many people on one. Lol.
I used to race a Ranger 32 with my dad and we had a few Ranger 33's around the yacht club. Yes I know about too many boat's I have a Montgomery 17, Norseboat 17.5, SCAMP (fiberglass version), Crawford Melonseed and a Whitehall Rowing Solo 14. Got to cut down at some point but can't decide which to keep and which to let go. And I am always seeing something else I would like to have. Sure wish I had those nice Hawaiian Island waters to sail in!@@mark7denzer
Very cool. Looking forward to more on this.
Awesome video Mark!!!!
It has been decades, but I'm going to say Puertecillo, Chile.
I promised not to post the spots. But you could email me at markdenzer808@gmail.com if you want some details.
Full wetties? So not Central America. Looks fun anyway. Livin the dream!
I don't ever publicly post the locations, but you can email me at markdenzer808@gmail.com and talk it over.
Sailboat Racing is alive and well in Hawaii. Beautiful tribute to our sailing friends on Maui and LYC in particular.
Oh man, Mark, you really got me here... Eau De Vie 2, Chuck, Lahaina will Return, Chuck, Gary, Don, Loco, Seamus, Rich... I miss you guys a ton... I'll be back... LMK if you want to do the last Baja Haha...
I would sail with you any time or place. Aloha.
Look at the Brothers Denzer gooooh!!!!!!!!!!,looks like a comfortable ride
Thank you again for the opportunity brother!!
It's gone with all the rest. Also , this doesn't look like drain pipe that was in Kalapana.
Thanks for writing. Drain Pipes was just a made up name to conceal the real spot, here on Oahu.
Mahalo’s mahvelous Denzah’s! …and the mighty Kowabunga!
Beautifully done! Love the mele!

Sweeet!
Beautifully done... boy I miss those waters!
come on out sailing anytime. I have an actual toilet with an actual holding tank, and a small reefer, and a weepy little shower hose. It is so deluxe. Normally Denzers are not allowed to have shiny new things.
@@mark7denzer Big mahalo - would love to... bringing the Malolo next year... you're always welcome!
Wow I really miss this boat! Love your videos Mark, I hope to see you soon! -Your friend from Canada
Come on back to Hawaii anytime.
This still their?

Awesome. It was 28 degrees below zero in Wisconsin yesterday.

I am the new owner of Prima Donna, she doesn’t look as good as in this video anymore.
They raced very seriously in those days. It was a fun boat.
Awesome!
Beer in one and sheet in another. Used to do this back in '00 on Gerontius. Glad to see its still happening.
I used to sail on gerontius and high roller on friday nights back in '00. good times.
Another outstanding cruise on Kaimiloa. Great video production Mark!
Memories for a lifetime... fantastic...
awesomeness achieved!
AND A BIG GIANT THANK YOU to Nawilwili Yacht Club......the best race hosts ever. See you again next year.
Well done! Pretty cool mods. The furling, the coaming, the custom tiller extension. How about a hiking rack that shifted to the side you need it? Too bad about the hat.
Thanks for the comments. I was trying to make an "adventure boat" that could row, furl, sail, beach launch, car-top, and be cheap. I kind of succeeded but there were problems too, like you only want the rack upwind or reaching in heavy air. I am still working on this.
Hey Mark...Loved it. Brought back good memories of sailing White Bird, now Caravella, around Hawaii...... Yankee 26???
that's really ingenious. how did you make it and where did you get the parts?
+Greg Strickland Hi, This is an earlier, of several, versions. The aluminum is very cheap non-anodized. The corners are cheap and called speed rail. The hard part are the brackets that capture the rails. There are no screws or holes. It is a pressure fit. A machine shop bent the aluminum. When you are reaching in a breeze, it is really fast, powered up and fun. I now have a later version with a sliding bench you can see on my channel. Thanks for checking in. I am glad you like it. Nobody really likes to hike out anyway. Aloha // Mark Denzer
So, I know the Laser baler is a little slow sometime but it should pull water our pretty well going downwind. Interesting additions. The sail looks interesting. Is that an APS modified sail?
Watch the other videos before you make up your mind about hiking out. No modern dinghy is made to hike out. It sucks. My next version will solve that forever. I hike in regattas, but in the ocean, too painful.
Haha, well said!!
Not really. Later, Lance Miller here in Hawaii showed us a GPS with 18knots on it he did in flat water in town. It seems the Laser Full Rig has some natural limitations up in the high teens. My actual email now is: mdenzer AT Hawaii DOT rr.com.
Hey Mark, have you been contacted with any credible challenges to your '09 Laser speed record? I tried reaching you by email but it got kicked back. Thanks, Kyle
Thanks. It was a super fun ride.
Yeah, it can be pretty cumbersome in light air, downwind, etc. Check the other videos for some rougher weather so you can judge. A narrower rack would solve some of those problems and work in lighter air. This one is useful at over 18 knots. Very fun to reach with.
what happens when there are waves and the racks are digging in? surely you'd be capsizing all over the place. and in light winds or downwind, you couldnt put any roll into manouvers or neutralise the helm?!?
Sorry for the late response. The rack is great, but am struggling to make this work with the Laser. First the cockpit fills full of water in 2 seconds, so I made a spray deflector. When you dip the lee rack, on particular points of sail it is very awkward. Basically, on a reach, on flat water, in 22 knots, it is the funnest thing I ever did. Aloha, Mark
That is where you are dead wrong. I sail up to 50 miles at a time offshore and in tough weather. Being able to achieve righting arm at all times is critical to survival. And what about light people? Or injured people? Or older people? Almost every modern boat has hiking assists.
Check out a couple of the other vid's. I have had it out on a couple giant days. When you are on the rack power reaching, it is unbelievable. But there are other times it is very awkward, hard to position your body, hampers movement, constrains your driving. I am working on these, so keep an eye on my vids and I am sure a better version is coming. This is the fourth one.
Sweet! Have you had it out in a bigger breeze? How do the racks handle swells?
Good Point. You need strong, consistent wind. If you use a full rig, 10 knots upwind and the rack is working. Reaching with a full rig, you need 12-15 knots to use the rack. It is not designed to hike off of, just sit on it.
Good invention, but when you hikke too much on the rack, do you capsize ? a french standard sailor
That is great!! My first version was basically a 2x6 that hinged under the hiking strap. I went to the VJ site and they look amazing.
