BMW Z3 ENGINE BAY DETAIL (Preview)
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.5 лет назад
Here's a sneak peak for what's to come! Full engine bay detail to be carried out on this 1998 BMW Z3 ! Year's of neglect and rust spots in places, I try to tidy it up as best I can before starting to work on the engine, servicing it and finding the oil leak that lurks beneath. Thanks for watching and remember to Subscribe to see the video when it's released!

Hi, how has it held up?
Still really nice! But the bumper is not back on the car just yet. Hoping to do a video of everything being put back together in the next week or so.
Please turn off the music
Really good stuff.
I really rate it!
I used to use burst engine oil nothing would ever stick to the plastics like flys an midgies 😂
Spot the Scottish "midgies"!
Just got my Z3 delivered that's in need of some love. Keep the passion and cars alive
sorry to hear about the rust. The M3 Contours fit our cars? or are these e36 325i wheels?
Can you straight up tell me what i.d./size the filter element is that you mated directly to the maf sensor inlet via clamp. I saw that and immediately sought to know, I'm not in in position to figure it out presently either.
time to toss this thing mate
Just subbed I love these new raw channels, just so honest n not edited to the max
Yep headlight switch is standard on a Z3. Pull once for sides pull again for main
Fixed it yet? Apparently all these exterior panels bolt on/off. There's companies like Tribute Automotive that make Ferrari kits for these, bound to sell on un-needed panels for cheap 👍
Where's the z3 content gone? :( Upload some more
Unfortunately the Z3 project was abandoned after the amount of rust being found was too much to repair. The car was then broken for parts, mostly being shipped to Europe and the US.
@@everydaymotors7989 That's a shame, I hope you can get back into a Z3 one day!
Where is the full video :) i just got a z3 and im going to do exactly as you!!
Hi, any update? Particularly interested in how you dealt with the rust.
Have you looked on zroadster.org? Worth considering for the knowledge base. Also have resident breakers on there for spares. There’s a good progress thread recently on there with some sill rust issues, resolved with some Deox Gel, graft and patience. Keep the updates coming👍
you need to get that upper intake manifold in the dishwasher thats what i did to mine...flic.kr/p/Yw696J flic.kr/p/YxCv3e
i paid £200 for mine 2.8 z3 wide body it had chrome side gills chrome roll bars strut brace hartge exhaust also came with a set of style 108 bbs 18 inch alloys 123,000 miles it was a non starter.. just needed fuel and and battery recharging i had to trailer it as had no m.o.t. been working on it for the last few months and i consider mine as a bargain too has some rust but not as bad as yours... electric roof was non functioning but sorted that also small water leaks on the roof which i have sorted it had a new rear window fitted which was fitted very badly at a cost of £300 but i have sorted that too all in all i enjoying it and wont be getting rid of it hopefully m.o.t next year . been doing all the brakes and refurbshed them all and bled the whole system.. have taken off most of the bolts holding the sills on without rounding them anbdgreased them and put them back on ready for next yeat ot fit a set of sills i have here to paint.. the mirror bases were badly corroded toothose ihave painted up and look just great.. will be following your progress too
good buy mate shame the parts are horrendous to afford and find
And here I was thinking I had the cheapest Z3😂 Lovely looking Z you got, I love the red interior. Yeah the headlight 'switch' is standard, a little quirk from BMW. Don't worry about the TC, it's more fun without it ;) Your oil leak could be from the oil filter housing gasket, which I've recently changed on mine (and done a video on) super easy and cheap to do and my oil hasn't dropped since. Great video, can't wait to see what's next!
I bet you're is in better condition though! I like it but it looks like they ordered the wrong part off eBay and just said 'right, fit them all like that' lol
Keep at it , you will love it when finished
I will do John! The hairdressers down the road is hiring so need it on the road, fast! 😜
That was a great video, good to have a look around the car...
Thanks John!
Good job with the video. Keep on working!
Thanks! Need to work on my video skills but will start some proper work in the next video. Thanks for watching 👍
I had the pleasure of working on 2 of these with my son last year. Great cars! I will own another one soon.
I look forward to seeing your updates so have subscribed but I really hope you dont keep adding music to your videos as everyone else does.. I'd rather hear you describe your work than listen to that music... I mean no disrespect to you I just cant stand the way everyone adds music to car videos. Anyway all the best and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do to this Z3...
