I think you can keep chickens on a half acre really easy. You can keep them on a smaller place than that if you don’t free range. We have people around here with half acre lots and chickens running around everywhere.

@@stevekonbass yeah a fence helps. If you want them to stay within the fence, you’ll probably need a hearty breed, but lay well. Buff Orphingtons, Black Australorps or lavender Australorps are beautiful. If you get a slender bird that flies really well you’ll need to keep them in a coop with a run. You could build a 10 x 30 run and it would be perfect and have a coop inside..

@@stevekonbass the quail are way more work. Especially considering I have to continuously make cages for them because I’m trying to grow my numbers. I let the chickens free range and they sleep in the coop at night and lay their eggs in the coop most of the time. Lol I have eight white leghorns/California Whites that literally sleep about 25 feet above the ground in a tree every night. I tried to integrate them with my two black Australorps, but they don’t want to sleep in the coop. The neighbors dog killed my game chicken last week, her name was Ruthie. Overall, it takes me about 30 or 40 minutes to do everything I need to do on a daily basis. We still have about 42 quail and only 10 chickens.. My wife and daughter have been really good with helping me on the days I work really late, and they’d love to gather the eggs! I’ve got about three customers now for the chicken eggs. It’s really fun.

The driving clip is from the dirt road that I live on, on my way to work one morning. I think the shooting star was from a friends Facebook. I think they actually shot it.

Thanks brother. I wrote this after quite a long break. I was kind of in a melancholy mindset when I recorded the vocals. I remember when I almost died listening to a crazy/ignorant friend of mine who was trying to get me to jump from the pier at Panama City Beach, Fl. I almost did it! We would have certainly drowned as the rip currents around any pier is tremendous. I kept thinking about how close I came to spending eternity in hell because I was not under the blood of Jesus. It would be another full year before I finally realized that I needed to just surrender and trust Him. I guess it serves the song well because Layne Staley sang with so much emotion that you can literally feel it. Is this version better than the original? The mix was really cloudy on the other version.

@@AFloodofSolaceJohnWhigham The guitar is a bit hot and trebley on this one. It overpowers the other instruments a little bit. Bass could be a bit louder. Listening with headphones, the pan is interesting. Drums and bass are harder left and the guitar is harder right. Vocals sit good in the mix. Kinda like how you have them panned more left. Keys have an airy quality which is cool. They sit good in the mix. I'd have to go back and listen to the other mix.

@@AFloodofSolaceJohnWhigham Went back and listened to the other version. I see what you mean. I think the new mix is better, it has more presence and more brightness and crispness, but I think the guitar was EQ'd better on the old mix.

@stevekonbass yeah. You’re right. I guess you can’t win them all. Lol thanks for the input. I feel the same way. The guitar was a whole other sound- almost made it sound like it’s live. Not great.

@stevekonbass yeah, I hear that too. Not sure why things sometimes pan left. I was experimenting with some of the panning earlier, I may have just forgotten about it. Not sure what was going on. I did make another master with some adjustments on the guitar. I recorded the base and stereo and originally the bass I felt was too loud. I think I overcompensated. Overall, that song has really worked me. I hope it was worth what I put into it. Lol thanks for your input brother. I do really appreciate it.

Amen. We also need discernment. Remember God’s promises are not for the wicked. We are unfortunately dealing with some who have been turned over as reprobates. We can still pray for a miracle, strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus, but some will never turn. Saddest of all. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks, Steve. I know the Lord has us, it’s just tough sometimes. My brother-in-law went into ICU last night for liver and kidney problems. He has non- alcohol sclerosis of the liver, in addition to type two diabetes. He’s also 70 years old now. We need a miracle. I don’t know if he has a relationship with the Lord, so I’m worried about that too. On a brighter note, my wife said the same thing about that video. I was trying to squeeze one in, but it’s been so hot and so humid. I know you know what I mean because you don’t live that far away. Lol thanks for watching and thank you for your Faithfulness. Thank you!! It’s only been the one so far, that we know of. They are about 20 weeks old now, so…

Update: they are laying more consistently. Yesterday we made our breakfast with 7 of their 8 eggs total. They laid two more some time afterwards, so that’s 10 eggs total now. Good stuff! These two Black Australorps are like cats or dogs now, lol. They follow us around and just wanna hang out. I picked one of them up yesterday afternoon and let her sit on my lap for a little while.

@@stevekonbass I hope one day! This year I haven’t even done a garden. I spent so much time in the garden last year and that was good. I do have some herbs and some habanero plants. It just seems like I don’t have enough time to do both birds and garden. .

Yeah, he was like 4 1/2 feet long. I counted eight rattles.

I’ve never tried it. There is a town about 30 miles from here who has a festival called the rattlesnake rodeo. It’s in Opp, Alabama. They eat a lot of rattlesnake.
