Nothing is wrong with this drop, everything is wrong with the Bratz fans. I've seen 16 year olds post that they're excited they got Regina at launch and a 35 year old man told her to k herself, just because they're jealous? That's insane. Limited drops happen all the time in the doll world. This didn't start this month, limiteds have been going since the 90s. Especially since this is a licensed product, they usually only can make a certain amount and I'm sure Bratz thought it was better to do a limited rather than nothing at all. If anyone has experience with limited drops they would know how to get one. I got all 4 from the website because I know how to do it. My husband got one following my advice to prove it wasn't just luck. At the end of the day it's a doll, not shelter or sustenance so we can all do without them. Wanna boycott Bratz? Go for it. Wanna not buy from resellers? I wholeheartedly encourage that. I just wish the fans would stop verbally berating the other fans who got one and the people who just work for Bratz. I even tried to help people with my system and multiple people told me I'm dumb and it's just luck. You know what happens in the Barbie community when someone gets a limited? "I'm so happy for you, please send pics!" Bratz fans are the most spiteful people I've ever had to hear from.

I only collect for about a year and the community gives me mixed feelings. Reselling prices are something I‘m a little salty about like people complain about the price of a doll but selling them for more than double few years later is totally fine because it’s seen as rare. But I sort of like looking for good deals and wait, that’s doll hunting for me I guess. Or going to the store and buy recent releases because there are so many I like. In general, there are so many beautyful dolls why would I overpay or fight for a release. Second hand is a great concept for the thought to give dolls that you don’t really feel anymore to someone who does and get dolls that are new and exciting for you from someone who also doesn’t feel it anymore. But when buying second hand is much more expensive than getting new stuff it feels a little weird. If I want to spend that much on a doll I would probably rather consider buying from more exclusive brands or maybe custom dolls. For conclusion I‘m doing good with just not buy when it doesn’t feel worth it and I still get many dolls that I fully enjoy.

I couldn’t agree more ! There’s definitely something that’s getting stressful/toxic with these limited-edition dolls, it almost becomes a race that we’re sure to lose because of the scalpers. As you said no one should pay 500 bucks for a bratz doll, but well people do because we fall in the trap or the scalpers and this whole FOMO syndrom and that’s really a shame That’s also why I don’t buy secondhand, plus being in the EU, even though I really liked these new mean girls dolls, I knew the price would be too high and they would be sold out on in a blink of an eye, so I prefer not start a fight I know I’m gonna lose 😭😭

I agree. Take your time to get the dolls you want. That’s what I did with rainbow high and Barbie and I’m happy with what I got. Focus on the dolls you care about and NOT the ones that you don’t care for

They are def turning Passion into Elitism through exclusive drops and targeted distro. They re using the same strategy as top luxury brands, which in a way is so dope but doll enthusiasts suffer....not so much doll collectors because doll collectors understand the importance of being part of the "in crowd" or whatever. I kind of first noticed this with the Jewel Richie release from RainbowHigh and the fashion pack from Naturalistas. ITS ALL ICE SPICE's FAULT, all of it!

I don’t think they are making the dolls exclusive for an ego boost, it’s literally just money. They’re making investors happy, meeting profit margins, etc. it’s just business sadly.

I found your video so enlightening. Recently, great playline dolls is starting to seem like a thing of the past. They are trying to target very young kids with cheap products. And then, they see how much adult collectors are willing to spend on the second hand market, so they create "collector" dolls for adults. Sometimes, these dolls really seem like the playline dolls of the past for $50-$100. I think the second hand market taught these companies that there is this huge demand for dolls, and these adults are willing to spend a lot for these nostalgic brands. I never even try to buy items that will probably sell out in minutes. It's not a fun experience for me. I will still buy the collector dolls that are mass produced. But it's sad seeing an end to great playline dolls...

I refuse to participate in the rush to buy intentionally scarce dolls. For a start, I would usually have to get into debt to buy them and then the hobby I have for fun is causing me stress financially. But also, there are more dolls in my price range that I love than I will ever be able to buy, so I don't need to get into a competitive blood sport against other enthusiasts for dolls that are purposefully made scarce. I'm not going set an alarm and sit refreshing a page only to miss out when I can wait for a sale and pick up a doll that's been on my wishlist for two months instead. This is supposed to be fun, damnit!

Now it makes sense why they did a collab with kylie, the whole obsession with bragging about selling out reminds me of the kylie lip kit back in the days.

I agree. I also hate being rushed. I don't give a crap about a doll being “exclusive”, I just buy the dolls I like. It also doesn't make sense to me to brag about having an “exclusive” doll because it clearly was made so artificially

So true about the Kylie Jenner collab because I just got those dolls for ten dollars each at Walmart two weeks ago and I don’t like Kylie Jenner but I like the very articulated body she has but still I was not gonna spend 35 dollars each on that doll ! And why does most of my Walmarts in my area have the Kylie Jenner doll for 35 dollars still ? I had to randomly be at a weird Walmart in an obscure area to happen to find these Kylie Jenner dolls for ten dollars each lol . Also side note the clothes on the Kylie Jenner dolls fit a lol omg doll perfectly . I didn’t try it on my rainbow high but I feel like it might based on how much those two dresses stretched out . The pleather dress is superrrrrr stretchy ! So that was fun I wish more doll lines would come out with stretchy clothes to fit a wide range of other doll brands
