[SH] Diamond Multimedia R9 270X Review-Hands On
Just bought one used, thanks in part to this video. Won’t be using it for its intended purpose. Instead it’s going to spend it’s life serving as a NAS/Media Server.
I got the MSI X670E Carbon WiFi Board today, it has the same hidden CMOS Battery. I want to know, if it makes sense, to install a kind of extension cable for the CMOS battery, for easier maintenance, or if there are problems, when the cable is extended.
Two features I like most about ACE: (1) 10 GbE (2) Unique main gen 5 M.2 SSD position - With a hot NVMe like Crucial T705, this position is better than all other boards, coz it's nearest to cool fresh air from case intake fans, and will be perfect with passive SSD heatsink, be it the stock one on the ACE or a more capable one like the Thermalright HR-10 2280.
Great job and thanks a lot. Really powerfull motherboard but such a cheap implemenation of the BIOS battery. Half of the motherboard has to be disassambled to get reach to it. Suggetion: a more gantle handling of the motherboard would be nice.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Was that the CMOS battery behind the audio ports of the rear IO? I have been looking all over the board looking for the CMOS battery. If it is, It doesn't look like it's user-friendly replaceable. Please advise.
How do you remove the backplate? I watched the first video.
2:48 "definitely make sure when you put this back together that you plug it back in before you screw this back on" That implies you want to put that GPU exhaust blocking, waste of electricity, plastic junk back in. If you don't want to use it you can just leave it unplugged like I did on my z790 Aorus Master.
bro lookin like he escaped from an 80's cop drama
I did not see a battery in the video. Did I miss it or is it under something else? Thanks!
Built in butter😂 Your vids are great 👍
Can you change the battery without having to take everything out of the case? The cmos battery?
Anyone know if the ryzen 7 7800x3d is compatible?
Yes. Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series is compatible. AM5.
Metal plate over audio components need to reduce/remove electric noise from other components and negative effects of this noise to sound quality. You may find similar solution but with much bigger scale on most pci-e audiocards with 100+ USD (probably even with some less expensive). Cheers. :-)
very easy task that gawrshhh!! steps im 2nd technician so good become like to do this
no need to advice that im already knows this im only into myself to assemble my cpu im so extremely intelligent pure genius talkin bout?? systems on computer hardware same me on my big bro noah alcid precisely
I just wanted to congratulate you on your content and your dedication/ commitment towards your knowledge of the clear explanation of the product you represent, you make life easier for people like me, I’m planning on purchasing a MSI ACE motherboard and just based off your experience, it was a no brainer for me, again THANK YOU for making life easy 👌🏿👏🏿👏🏿💯💯💯💪🏿👏🏿👑
This board looks so nice although I'm not a fan of the gold I wish it was just plain black it would have looked so much better!I would have bought it if it wasn't for the gold :/
Hi, i still have this mb but id like to upgrade cpu, ram and gpu for gaming. What can i do to improve it? Thanks a lot!!
Hi! I’ve read some of comments this motherboard has some problems paired with 7800x3D and DDR5-6000. Any user having this combo?
Yes. I have the 78x3d paired with 6400mhz rams. I've watched another guy's overview saying that the max capacity of speed for the ram slots is 6400. Xmp was doing over 6400. My pc restarted on it's own and dram lights would light up. Happened for 1 month and a half straight. I almost gave up. I cmos the motherboard and didnt overclock the rams and left it at default. Been running normal since.
Do you by any chance still have this motherboard? I got ripped off being this motherboard from eBay and the seller shipped it with a burnt capacitor on one of the VRMs, the capacitor I mean is placed on the back of the of the motherboard, but it's one of the ones from the top VRMs. Is there a way I could contact or message you? I could show you which one I mean exactly, the reason I'm asking is because I'd like to know exactly which capacitor I need to buy for replacement. Thank you.
I couldn’t find the bios video, still planning to post one?
At 31:41m you will see the Battery left from the MSI WIFI Card
Thank you for the detailed video! I recently purchased an open-box version of this model and your video was incredibly helpful. Upon disassembling the VRM heatsink, I noticed that a thermal pad was missing in one section. Could you please share some information on the thickness of the thermal pads used in this model, specifically in the VRM and M.2 sections? I’ve observed some oil leaks and plan to replace them as well. Thanks.
Good video, but dragging that board around on the bare table and seeing the giant scratches drove me nuts lol
One of the best motherboard reviews I've ever seen. Your explanation of PCIe lanes was extremely easy to follow. I'm probably buying this board and your review is pushing me over the edge. Great write-up!
How am I supposed to change the battery without getting the whole mb out of my case?!?! WTF is this
That's what I'm saying I'm currently in the same boat right now sadly. Seems like the only way to get to it 😢
where is the cmos battery?
Hey guys, I need some information about this motherboard, I see a lot of reports that this board in rev 1.0 is causing a lot of problems, has anyone purchased it willingly to let me know which revision is coming? the latest revision is 1.3 if I'm not mistaken. I thank everyone.
can we replace the wifi card with wifi6e or its fixed you can't replace it ? my board is aorus z690 ultra ax exacly like master
Careful doing BIOS upgrade, there's no flashback feature. Corrupted = diy fix with BIOS flash tool or RMA.
Does it have a ASIO?
Hey Steve. Is it normal for the screw that holds the mb backplate on(bottom right front screw 0:45 ) to not go in all the way causing that section of the plate to be a bit loose. The 2 front screws are slightly different from the ones in the back. They have a small post on them ?
Suggestion: Use a toothpick when pointing to these tiny chips. Otherwise, outstanding.
I have had the M.2 thing explained to me differently. I was told that you don't lose the 16x slot unless you use both the top two M.2 slots.
Excelente!
what about the PCIe5 m.2 slot? can the heatsink handle a PCIe5 SSD like the T705 from Crucial?
No one shows seals 🤷♀️
Thank you very much. Great explanation of the board!
Own three of these now. Paid total for all 3 $286 so for $95 avg each that can’t be beat. They all were open box though. This is simply the best value board for the dollar minus pcie 16x 5.0 support. Comes with 4 full speed m2 slots and the 2nd 16x slot can also run full speed at 4x. So easily with a cheap adapter you can run 5 gen4 NVMe drives on this. I originally ordered the b650 elite ax but the x670 was $20 more so I would much more prefer more connectivity options for down the road. A little stronger vrm and 1 extra usb. The extra full speed options is what makes the x670 more valuable to me.
How about msi mag x670e ?
I love the 2 phases for the mystics <3
Found this one on discount for 179 euros in my country, worth buying?
I've heard this board can work with 192GB RAM is this correct?
someone please help me i keep writing this message to get serious help. i have new build and have this motherboard and the orange VGA LED is on. why? when GPUs are fine and working. cant get shit on my monitor. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right at 14:08 I was able to pause it and zoom in on the 3x M2 heatsink single screw location. The extra board I was given someone superglued the stand-off onto it and it broke off. There is some damage around that underside header but it looks like it might just have missed the traces. Looks like it's the middle M2 drive out of the 3 so maybe if damaged it will only be on that slot. No biggy I can always add a 4th to the PCIe 4.0 4x slot if needed. Thanks for the 4k footage! A open box 7700X $265 & Gskill Trident Z5 Neo RGB ram is showing up tomorrow. Going to test out the board and hopefully it works fine. Won't be able to use the 3x M2 heatsink but no biggy my M2 drives are for game loading and not heavy transfer usage.
Hi I know I'm very late to the video but do you know what type of coin battery is needed for the board?
Just want to confirm, regarding the m.2 slots and PCI slots I have no restrictions and could essentially fill the entire thing up and not be concerned about any sharing of bandwidth? thanks in advance
Question... I have an old Dell Motherboard with 3 chokes and 3 mosfets per choke next to the CPU. How much power can they reliably deliver? How can I figure that out? Why does this board only have 3 chokes and more mosfets than your example?
This comes with my prebuilt It’s has a i9 14900 and 4090 Just wasn’t sure if it was a good MB or not
Hey, great stuff. Which one is clock generator? I tried to listen carefully but either missed or it wasn't voiced.
stay away from Gigabyte if you want RAID drives. The motherboards are a mess when it comes to setting these up... Bios sucks
