Winter Solstice Hike - Minoh to Mt Satsuki
Hoping to get one last hike see the very last bits of autumn colors. A beautiful warm day - it shouldn’t be this warm on the Solstice - and perfect conditions for a relatively easy hike. We did happen to get lost a few time resulting in two loops in which we returned to a point we had hoped we had left.
Our after hike snack was at a lovely vegan cafe that is designed beautifully, the interior is amazing, and every dish is infused with love and care. There should be a line of people waiting to get in.

A day trip to Chikubu Island located in the middle of the largest lake in Nippon, Lake Biwa. Two day hike to Mt. Chogatake. We left Osaka at 10pm, drove all night and arrived at Mitsumata Parking lot at 4AM. Slept for a few hours before starting our 6 hour hike to the peak. One of the most famous festivals in Nippon. July 17th is the day of when the Yama & Hoko are parades through Kyoto City. Great shots! All the footage near the water is breathtaking. Delicate flowers that are so demanding should not be taken for granted. It seems they bring a mood and some sort of optimism when everything aligns
