This was helpful. However, I wanted to create a ringtone from a song I downloaded. I imported the track. I wanted to duplicate it before I did any further actions. If I make a mistake, I might lose some of the song. Please help me progress in my task. Thanks🙃

Thank you for this but I don’t understand how to simply split a clip. I don’t see the function “split“ on here. In GarageBand you just drag your finger down vertically and it splits the clip with the scissors. Do you have anything that’s equivalent down here?

Needs to wash his fingernails. Sitar is a classical instrument and was played in the Darbar and in modern times the concert halls, not in the street.

The soundtrack doesn't match the player's left hand finger positioning, nor does the right hand mizrab plectrum match what is being played.............almost as if he is actually miming to the sitar soundtrack, which also contains Tabla accompaniment ?

irig pre is more open. With irig pre, you are using external preamps and ad converters on your phone/laptops. The ad converters on phone or laptop is usually very good. But it sounds with more hiss for sure.

Terribly designed app with flaws, obviously designed by a non studio engineer editor, in a normal world the effects are added on the channel or track NOT THE AUDIO FILE ITSELF, only post processing should be applied lime dynamic filters --> compressors, gains, normalize, silence, pitch, noise reduction etc NOT echo, reverb, chorus, flanger, phaser, etc....and when looping it should also snap to a time line with bars and beats, any time stretch to fit could be fine to the audio selected as a loop while the original should stay intact....but its how it goes, ios apps suck,

Why do you and most people associate build quality with plastic vs metal. There are plastics that are as strong as steel. Plastic doesn't dent. Yes it can break but how often have you had a device like these that have cracked or broken? I go for the sound quality because I have never broken the case of a plastic case like these. If it is a heavy device like an interface then metal is probably better but not for this kind of device that weighs nothing. I personally did not compare the pre to the pro but I have the pre and did not notice any sound quality issues. Ok, my ears are not so sensitive and trained but the pre is way good for me. Do you really think the pro is that much better? For serious studio recording, I use my iConnectaudio4+ or focusrite 2i4. For on the go stuff, the pre is great. But I might grab the pro if I find one cheap on eBay or in a big sale(very big). Thanks for the video. I would have liked to see a proper test with meters. I think there are apps for that. One thing that continues to amaze me is the popularity of watching unboxing. What's the thrill in seeing someone opening a box and removing packing stuff. Isn't the point to know how good or bad the device is? What a waste of time. I suppose it's similar to the big importance of how a device looks. A good example is that the most important thing to most car buyers is the look of the car, not the quality. I used to sell used cars and I used to really think people are sooo stupid. Many get a better feeling from parking their new car in front of their house to show it off, than from driving it. Marketing controls us. A lousy product can sell like crazy just because it looks good, no matter how useless may be. Remember the pet rock? Ok I went just slightly off topic. Isn't life an off topic thing in general? The way you use the Rode iXY with video at good levels, is bring up the Rode Rec App and turn up the volume in that app. Then don't close the app, and go to the video app and it will be turned up.

I think the PRO is much more versatile with the 30pin | Lightning | USB cables but I have also noticed it is less prone to high frequency hiss (which the pre is) Yes, its a big difference in price €30-€150 ish but it definitely is a PROfessional quality device -desirable particularly for Radio journos. If you are a mojo purchasing gear on a shoestring the pre is fine.

The iRig Pre will work with most Smartphones (any that have a combined microphone/headphone using a standard Tip Ring Ring Sleeve TRRS connector) i can't guarantee specific models though. The iRig pro is limited to iOS and USB
