    Fantastic video! Very good explanations however still don’t feel enough to attempt myself. I would love to hire you to do my house, it’s definitely video worthy; Bonky house that needs a lot of alterations. Been burnt in the past with poor workmanship. I would love to hire you for the job, your attention to detail and confidence from experience is very soothing.

    Is the Rockwool between the rafters a lot less efficient than PIR? My son and girlfriend are getting a loft conversion and have been quoted for 100mm PIR. Their rafters are really deep (at least 20cm) so I was thinking they could put thicker insulation in than 100mm. The rockwool is breathable, fireproof and should be easier to install too

    Thanks for this video. Good to see it being applied and very helpful. I’ve just ordered my Cedral click. Something worth noting for anyone who is going to use cedral - they do not manufacture trims other than 90 degrees. So if you have a corner like I do that are not right angles you have to buy trims on spec. Which is ok for one or two, however, matching the Colors of cedral trims to a different manufacturer will be very difficult.

    Hi - very informative video! My builder used Cedral smooth as opposed to textured finish, in dark brown and it has marked and scratched very easily during installation! The colour has now been discontinued. Cedral have suggested painting all of the Cedral in situ… is this a good idea?

    Fail. This wall and the deck very well may collapse. Brick walls are NOT meant to carry loads.

    • @volopa5
      @volopa5 11 месяцев назад

      This is what I was going to ask. I don't know much about building regulations in the UK, but where I come from nothing heavier than a flower basket is allowed to be fixed to the outer leaf brickwork. Regardless, I see many builders here fixing timber boards to bricks to support canopy roofs and similar structures. The roofs themselves are not heavy, but the wind load could be huge.

    • @EtoTheKay
      @EtoTheKay 11 месяцев назад

      @volopa5 Anybody who attaches ledger to brick is asking for trouble. Brick veneer are not meant to carry any weight other than their own. Yeah, a flower basket, something like that...fine. But not a deck weighing 1000s of pounds. Add people on top, and there's a lot more to lose here than just a deck.

      I've just resin bolted a 4metre 8inch pole plate to brick wall for 15degree lean to roof as specified by building control in England 🇬🇧

    • @Tom-qo7ry
      @Tom-qo7ry 8 месяцев назад

      @EtoTheKay the brickwork will easily take a timber deck 👍

    • @EtoTheKay
      @EtoTheKay 8 месяцев назад

      @Tom-qo7ry Tell that to the 1000s of decks that collapsed causing serious injury and even death in several cases. Brick veneers are not meant to handle loads in the 1000s of pounds. There's a reason why they're illegal in the West.
