Tomorrow is my 5th birthday! I find great comfort in learning, to remind myself that I still don’t have all the answers! God bless my family of twisted and afflicted sober drunks!

What a wonderful legacy for Joe, RUclips really can be a force for good. My sponsors sponsor saw this in rehab on VHS, really helped him get started. I find the light hiss in the background comforting, the thought that there were people when I was a child laying the groundwork for my recovery today makes me cry tears of joy.

Joe and Charlie were such a dynamic duo for Alcoholics Anonymous. Absolutely amazing with how they explained the Big Book and the Program of the 12 Steps as masterful storytellers. I love the phrase "It took Bill and Bob to write the Big Book, but it took Joe and Charlie to explain it". While that is a nice saying, I believe the First 100, Bill, Bob, and the many non Alcoholics that influenced Bill explained the Big Book beautifully. Joe and Charlie had their own interpretation as that's the freedom of the entire thing. Just as Bill's wife, Louis, had her own interpretation of the Steps in AL Anon

Joe Mc Que was wonderful!!! I heard that when he started going to AA, the group he first went to told him he could not hang out before or after the meeting, and that he was not allowed to drink out of their Coffee Cups. He didn't care , because he wanted to find Sobriety. Shame on that group, Kudos to this wonderful man!!!

Wasn't just that group, was aa in general back then. No catholics, no women, no blacks, native Americans, addicts, gays...... Was not th all encompassing fellowship it is today (thankfully)

We face that "allergy" thing because of our brains. The person who's not alcoholic can have a drink and his or her brain turns it into acetic acid, which is vinegar. No harm. My brain turns it into acidaldehyde, which is poison. That's why we have what we call the allergic reaction. I had an excellent doctor when I was in rehab. He was himself in recovery for several years. He taught us so much and I will forever be grateful for him.
