    excellent song choice! What a great open area for flight. Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to try towing. That 'oh shit' handle looks inviting... Pulling big ears is a non-event. More scary than anything.

    Yea buddy, don’t worry the fear is only natural, you’ll get past it with more experience, then you will find that the little bits of turbulence you are experiencing are nothing compared to thermalling, that’s when the real fun starts, and there’s another part of dealing with fear but you’ll get past it too. When you are ready a SIV is an absolute must do! Especially if you plan on flying mountains, or desert thermalling sites, because the air gets quite rowdy mid day and you will need to know how to handle it. But that’s a ways off, just learn to trust your gear and your instructor and keep getting flights in, time in the air is what you need now.

    Good work, something that helped me on tow was putting one foot on the tow line. You can feel the pressure in the line and it helps stabilize your body so you’re not flailing around as much.

    Good job on inflation ! Great hight for tow. It gets easer but yeah good one for 2nd try. Try some ride souring its much calmer on good wind day then 0 to 2,000 in one shot.

    Nice job man. Where are you learning? And who is your instructor? Just curious, I know pretty much everyone in California area.

  • @SkidzFPV
    @SkidzFPV 10 месяцев назад

    Man I was so scared during my first tow, it was at SIV so it was over water, but we towed to 3000’-4000’ agl and made a big triangle around the lake on tow, it took about 20 minutes, then finally you get to pin off and rest for a minute before the instructor starts telling you to do full stalls and auto rotations, etc. lol. But I definitely feel your pain on tow, it isn’t the most comfortable way to get high but it works 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

    I just randomly stumbled across your videos, but I'm a beginner as well. Turbulence really surprised me on my first few flights too. Kind of spooky when things get bumpy. I recommend looking up videos on "active flying." I've started using gentle brake inputs to dampen pitch movements, and while I have a long way to go in dialing my technique, it's really helped me feel more in control of the glider. It's funny.. I also do the thing where I talk to myself in the air. For some reason talking myself through the progress of the flight helps keep me focused on what I'm doing. All the best to you, and happy flying!

    what a rush..... i remember my first tow, trying to get in the seat was a challenge. had a slight cross wind also. what an amazing sport though. it is very addicting. Great job on pointing the wing at the truck, remember to check your wing from time to time and you will see it pointing where you want it to be. great job!

    Good flight, why are you moving so much your legs?

    • @Sethgolas
      @Sethgolas 10 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I don't get that. Is that some kind of struggle to get seated? Flailing your legs should not be a reaction to any scenario in paragliding.

    • @SkidzFPV
      @SkidzFPV 10 месяцев назад

      I’m guessing he was trying to get into his harness in a seated position instead of dangling from his nuts lol. I had a stirrup on my open harness with a bungee connected to one of my shoe laces, just hold that foot up, it pulls the stirrup forward so you can put your foot on it and climb in without taking your hands off controls or flailing your legs around. I still do the same thing to get into my pod harness.

    I feel ya mate. I did mine with a hang glider and locked out on the first attempt. I got up, dusted myself off, replaced the crossbar, and went again, and again, gradually getting the stones to get higher. I didn't get to your altitude though. People have no idea what it's like trying to contain their fears while trying to stay composed and control an unpowered aircraft exposed to the elements. No room for error. Much respect dude 👊

    Congrats!!!! I did my first winch launch last July. I asked the instructor the odds of a release failure he said IDK maybe 1/10,000. Happened to me on my first flight. After 2-3 seconds of terror I started working the problem and going through the options. I looked down and a line in the mechanism was hooked onto my bootlace hook (which I now tape down). Did a crunch and managed to unhook it and sailed away. Goes to show you that you must always be prepared and know options. ie cut line or fly out still attached, or throw reserve or untangle etc The instructor was great and didn't panic me on the radio and knew to stop pulling.

    You sure got religious once you gained some altitude. It gets really high and bouncy and took some guts to do it so well done. It will get easier and that's a great spot for Xc flying when you get some more experience.👍
