Arithmetic vs Geometric, Unit Price, and Solving! ... IM1 UNIT 2 LESSON 1
There are also z-scores involved when calculating confidence intervals. Are they the same thing?
Great question! The answer is kind of! :) When calculating a confidence interval, you'll need to use either z* or t* to do the calculations. Larger values of z* or t* make the interval wider (more confident) and smaller values make it narrower (less confident). Knowing what a z-score is makes z* a little easier to understand. I can link a few videos below where I explain z* in depth!
Here's the intro to confidence intervals (I don't quite get into z* here, I just use a nice whole number for z* so you can focus on what a confidence interval actually is. Definitely make sure you understand what a confidence interval is first.) ... ruclips.net/video/Dn7br_62GNk/видео.html
And then here's where I explain what z* is (starting at 6:13) ... ruclips.net/video/Yd32IpeNPJM/видео.html
If you have more questions or video requests, please let me know! :)
I support your Cheezit addiction. Also, it's amazingly good evidence; I get something like p = 10^-30. Kellogs is lying!
Haha anything to work junk food into my videos!
Took quick break from my used farm equipment value data/stat work to watch...I Love Math/Stats. I Love chocolate chip cookies. 1+1=3 in this case 🙂. So if Avg. cookie bake time = 11.6 min. and length of this video is 10:23....what are the odds you could bake a batch of cc cookies while watching this vid and finish before end of vid? No calculator here....guessing approx. 33%??
BTW: I'm hungry now. Time for cookie break
Ooooh good question! Calculator says about 12% ... 10 minutes 23 seconds is a little more than one standard deviation below the mean. I think it would be possible! :)
Another nice video, as usual, on z scores and cdf
Thank you!
What? All of these trails are open? I had just assumed that most of them would be closed due to the fires. (A good handful of of other places that I wouldn't have expected to be closed - even places in the city [like Griffith Park] were closed, but anyway...) Glad you were able to still get out and hike!
Sooooooo many trails are closed. We did Mount Wilson a week or two before the fires started ... not sure when we'll get to do that one again. :( But trails in the San Gorgonio Wilderness are open, highly recommend!
Mt Wilson was the hike I was hoping to do, but the San Gorgonio Wilderness trails ❤definitely look like something to put on the agenda next time!! (BTW - also loved the way you combined hiking and mathematics👍 ;)
I enjoyed the video but am old and learned all of this stuff before calculators got smart. In my head I went to z-scores and z-score tables for this. Do students do any of that anymore? Why am I asking you, a stats teacher, instead of my daughter, a student in AP stats? Well, you teach high school students, so I'm guessing you'll know.
Thank you for watching! Yes, they definitely still do z-scores and z-score tables! I really like to start by using the table to do these types of problems because the calculator almost seems a little bit too magical when it spits out an answer. But I was making this review video for students who need a short refresher mid-year or are frantically studying for an exam. :) I do have a whole playlist where I go through normal distributions in more depth if you're curious about how I teach it in the first place!
Here's the playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLX_bBeF-TRz2HPYAewFLHqfSwV27v8a8N&si=xow3NVeFpb_5IybK
@@newnormalstatistics Thanks for the reference; I'll check it out!
Simplicity is the real winner here. Lights and animation, don't count. It would be nice, if you would make another video that contains more samples. One where noobs can decipher from the language, what needs to be done.
Thanks for the comment! When you say more samples, do you mean more examples of AP problems? Maybe with a focus on determining what the questions are asking you to do?
All hail the power of the RUclips algorithm gods for sending this blessing on my feed.
Sometimes The Algorithm gets it right!!
Wow my fyp came in super clutch. This is a gem of a vid. Highly reminiscent of bayes book for me.
High praise, thank you! I'll be creating more probability and statistics content soon. Please leave a comment if you have topic requests!
Can math truly be taught this way? Outstanding! The best I've seen..
There are 4.3B+ videos on RUclips now....This....Video....My....New....Fav. Math learning + Camping learning = YES. From a totally unbiased Math loving Minnesotan father 🙂
You should put online gambling somewhere in the title, would have clicked this video sooner. it's a major problem and most people dont understand the odds.
Good suggestion, updated! There will be more videos related to online gambling and sports betting coming soon. I agree, it's a huge problem.
Insightful video presented nicely ❤
Let's goooooo
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bwahahahahahaha 🤣you go girl

so touching for an excellent video
This activity is dead! Is there any way to get it? I was planning on using it for my students later this week.
I'm so sorry I didn't see this sooner! I fixed it last week but didn't see your comment in time. :(
Thank you!!! Cramming for my exam rn
Good luck!
Love your out-takes 🤣
God bless you, thank you!
TYPO ALERT: I used the wrong formula at 11:03. Don't square the sample sizes. Do as I say, not as I do.
WHAT DOES A BEAN MEAN
Thank you for posting these videos! I have been using them with my students. Will you be posting more?
Sorry, just saw this ... yes I will! Currently working on confidence intervals right now. :)
