So anyway my coil is sparking from the distributor line getting ready to replace wanted to watch a video just to get a quick idea as to how to do it I appreciate your video cuz it's directly to the point on a different note I had a similar problem with my fuel system long story short my gas tank was plastic and was degrading drop the tank cleaned it out new pump new filters haven't had the problem since thank you for your video and good luck with the Buick and the Chevy
So anyway I have a 1998 Chevy 2500 series pickup truck with the biggest 350 was having similar issues I pulled out the filter saw a bunch of little black pieces apparently my plastic gas tank was degrading drop the tank cleaned it out new fuel pump new filters haven't had an issue since vehicle also has over 200,000 my ignition coil is sparking now which is why I watched the video to see how to change it I appreciate your video because it's directing to the point good luck for your truck and good luck with that Buick
Glad it helped!
Hockin on video is plum gross. And I don’t put bad comments I just usually click off but this was rude and I really needed this help.
Poor thing
Definitely not a prosumer mower my friend. Also "biweekly" mowing from a business perspective is DUMB! It wasts your time and adds more struggle for your mower. We use those with full exmark mulch kits on WEEKLY lawns and they do just fine.
I agree biweekly cuts aren’t good for business. But as we all know, starting out you tend to take whatever you can get. I wouldn’t recommend building a business around biweekly cuts at all.
You gained another subscriber. I want to restore a 70-72 skylark with my girl.
Thank you!
Random thought. Do you know if your deck rake is still in adjustment? 1/4" higher ish in the rear. Back of the deck might be too low. Just a thought.
That’s a good question and I have not checked that. Thanks!
Lots of work! I bought a front disc brake conversion kit from Summit! Well worth it and great stopping power.
That is definitely on the future projects list!
Good work dude. Helped me a lot
Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
I just replaced mine with the Razors and I am having the same issue
Seems the longer this video is up the more people are coming forward with this issue. Has Ballard done anything to address any of this?
Have you tried the Oregon G6? I've done a good bit of research and think that's what I"m gonna try.
I have not tried those.
The ballard gold hybrid are horrible for me in memphis tn. I'm running x blades with gold hybrid.. I'M taking them off and going back to oem
OEM was the fix for me as well
Let me teach you a lesson. Mow at your desired height like 3". Then raise deck to 3.25 or 3.5 and mow 2nd time. You will thank me later.
Let me teach you a lesson. Nobody wants to cut twice when you are trying to run a business.
He gave you some very solid advice. Using that cub is holding you back from being more productive.
@@Orefamilylawncare you gotta start where you can. And nothing in his comment said anything about the Cub. He said mow it twice.
Got my own '72 Skylark... interested in where this goes. Looks like you got some work ahead of you.
It’s been a lot of work and still lots more to go!
Awesome duck tape trick!
I learned that one back in my racing days. Thanks for watching!
I’ve learned a lot from your “limited” knowledge. 🙂
And that is why I keep making videos! Hopefully I’m helping someone!
That's a saver!!!
It is in the process of being resurrected!

I had a 1972 gs 350 4 speed . WATCHING THIS IS BRINGS BACK THE OID DAYS. I Rolled it in 1978. One of the worst days of my life. My mother has pictures of it.

Awesome! Welcome to the fun!
@@JoshFugate I actually found your chanel before caedon told me about it beause I was watching cleatus and yours was next
@@Joey88089 that’s awesome! Always good to follow a Cleetus video!
You’ll find that not only headers but most performance parts for Buicks are expensive. Most of the aftermarket companies don’t even make anything for Buicks and the ones that do are very, very proud of their’s. That’s why so many are LS swapped.
I am definitely seeing that indeed! I guess there just isn’t enough after market demand for Buick parts.
@@JoshFugate That’s exactly right. I have a 67 Special and a 72 Skylark like yours only in much worse shape 😅
@@ericrhyne3407 Nice! I always love finding more Buick folks out there!
Did you check out TA Performance
I did indeed! Great site! Most definitely will be ordering some stuff from there
I based my business on mulching. It's all I do. The Ballard mulching blades leave more stragglers than any other blade I owned.
That was the same experience I had!
I'm having the exact same issues with these blades but also a terrible vibration. Awful cut quality!! I have to make 3-4 passes just to make it look decent which eats up a lot of time and gas... I contacted Ballard about this but without much helpful feedback which is irritating because this is what they recommended. After doing more research I am 99% sure that these are the wrong blades for my use... I'll be removing them first thing in the morning!
As soon as I removed the blades, my problems ended!
Yes, a Chinook....LOL glad you showed it..
That’s super cool! Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
another banger video
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩🍩☕️👀😎👍. Young man your looking at a lot of hard work, but if if you put the time in , it will be rewarding! Good luck !☕️👀😎👍
It’s been a lot of hard work so far but we are making progress!
Be sure to pay attention to that front engine assembly and your oiling condition.
This thing is definitely going to a machine shop to be cleaned up and honed. May have to punch the cylinders out to get everything round again. Still got some measuring to do but it will all be going back together new!
Just FYI only 70-72 front fenders from Skylark will work with this car, they do make bottom replacement panels . If you do find fenders for sale they are not cheap. If you was closer I am pulling my running driving 70 SP code 350 with 80k on it this summer. For parts for Buicks check out TA performance. Rockauto also has some parts available, the Chevelle, Olds Cutlass and Pontiac Lemans can cross some suspention and brake parts as well as gas tanks, (70-72 Monte) also on some. Glad to see you guys working on this Buick!
Thanks for all the info! Do you happen to know where you have found the bottom replacement panels for the skylark?
@@JoshFugate I believe OPGI has them. Possible TA performance. I can check into it more.
@@DarrinVonGS455 thanks!
The best I’ve found are the g6. Unfortunately what I believe is happening is the stem is so long that it is not raising it effectively. A high lift blade is probably what you will need for this grass. However as a farmer that type of grass may never cut that well.
Thank you for the info! I ended up going back to the manufacturer spec blades and it cuts better than anything else I’ve put on it. I’m thinking it may not have quite enough rpm for some of the aftermarket blades.
Great project car, love it when I see fellow Buick owners. I have a 70 GS right now and have several Skylarks over the years. I"ll subscribe and watch your progress! Good luck!
This is my first Buick but it has been a lot of fun so far!
@@JoshFugate they are fun! little more expensive. If you have any Buick questions we will be glad to help!
@@DarrinVonGS455 thank you!
LET HIM COOK!!
Let him cook now!!
Nothing like redneck engineering to git r done. 🤣 what an amazing score! 👍
You got that right!
Sounds crazy!
I just ordered some ripper blades for the same reason. I have a commercial walk behind with the advanced chute system and I mow some properties bi-weekly and I’ll will let you know how they turn out for me in a few weeks. Curious to see if I have the same results.
Good luck!
That color brings back some memories for me. I had a 1972 Buick skylark. Loved the car. I paid $3000 for it was a Florida car. Drove it for about 4 years on and off. One winter I had to drive it. That's all I had to drive that 1 winter. Then my lovely ex had a little accident with it 1 day and dented the front hood right on the point. After she left, I parked the car in the backyard for 3 years. 1 day, 2 guys come knocking on my door And ask me if I wanted to sell. They caught me at the right time. At least for them, not for me. I looked at them. I said sure. They ask how much do I want for work. I don't know what I was thinking I told him $350. The only reason I came up with that figure was because it had 350 cubic inch engine. What a fool I was. Those guys could not run fast enough to get the money and for me to get the title. And they went up got points and plugs and a battery and drove it away. So by watching your video with this skylark. It just keeps making me think whatever happened to mine.
That’s a crazy story! And I’m sure those guys didn’t waste any time getting that $350!
I get the frustration maybe the ballard razors or try copperhead brand standard lift shouldn't have an issue also when I found that it was leaving patches no matter new blades or not have the edges cleaned off doesn't have to be sharpened just take the paint off that will help as well
Thanks for the tip!
@JoshFugate you're welcome. I have a 22 bad boy maverick hd efi honda, and i had a time with leaving patches. I took it back several times under warranty when it was new, just all on the blade type along with grass type makes all the difference 🍻
Definitely entertaining! 🤣🤣 Your making great progress. Keep it up!!
Thank you! I am definitely enjoying it!
Cant wait to see more! subbed and good luck with you project, gonna look great! Nice car!!
Thank you! I’ve got more videos coming soon!
Excellent choice for your son’s first project car. Why have a Chevy like everyone else? The Buick 455 is also known as the Hemi Killer, King of the Brand X Big Blocks & the Titan of Torque. He is going to have fun being thrown back into the seat when he steps on the gas!
He is definitely excited! We still haven’t fully decided what engine to go with but when we do there will be a video for sure!
Why do people let these great cars just sit outside and rot away,,,,
It’s hard to say, usually money and a lack mechanical knowledge and ability. But we are saving this one!
My bets on brake bleeder
You’re probably right!
Dont put your cheater on your rachete. Gets expensive. You'll burn up the new grinder in one hour with big wire brush on. That trick dont work. POR 15 on the rust would have been the way most guys go. But not cheap. You can by duckting soundning cheap. Id definitely sound dead floor. That will seal the rust. Then get a body pannel bond to slap over rust from below. You better to by a cheap plug in electric drill with small cup bits. Save the battery drills. Varied amount of cup bits will get in the small places. Nutralise the rust. Its cheap. You can hack lemon juice also. Top half Patena looks good. Is there a ground wire in the fabric for belt. Good luck Man. You got the rite idea. Keep it cheap. Its all in the Prep. Have a good one. Adios. Looking from Crete Greece.
Thanks for the tips! I have a corded drill I could use with some smaller brushes. You’re the first person I know of from Greece!
@@JoshFugate LOL YASAS. Plenty old classic cars in Greece sitting in every mountain town and village you go to. Old Datsun pickups. European cars. Good luck with your project. I follow along. YASAS. This is Hello. Goodbye. Goodday. The you answer with YA.
@DenisEdwards-ls2de YA! I’d love to go to Greece one day!
@@JoshFugate Great. Lots of History. Not to expensive. Can get hot hot in the summer..Athens can snow. Dec Jan.

Every little bit done is a little bit more progress, but at least you’re still grinding away at it. Remember what Puddin would say “sitting on your ass won’t finish your project “ looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you! Lots more to be done here for sure!
New subscriber to your channel my friend... love these old cars very comfortable and they just ride so smooth. Cant wait to see what you have in mind for it. Big shout out to you from Mexico 🇲🇽 buddy.
Welcome aboard! Thank you for subscribing! We have lots of plans for the car and most of them we haven’t decided on yet! Stay tuned!
Watching from Columbia, TN. Caedon your video was 💯! It’s coming along great. 👍
Thanks! Have fun in Tennessee!
A Home Depot mower with all do respect can’t compare with a 22hp commercial mower. Like the review for sure just waiting on mine to slap them on my Wright zero turn.
Not a Home Depot mower. This is the ZT2 not the ZT1. Very different mowers.
Just sold my 72 sun coupe. Was a fun car to drive. Total production on those was 3994 with only a handful gs and stage 1.
I’m looking forward to getting this one back on the road!
It's looking good!
Thank you!
