Interesting - Thank you I have one of these lens (Pentax version). It is functioning but the bajonet of the lenshood is very tight. so when I assemble or disassemble it it often tricks to the focussing ring and this become separate from the lens. It can simply be reinserted and clamped, but for practical use it is anoing. Do you have any idea how to fix that?

I have the same lens. When I unscrew the front element, only the frontmost section comes out. None of the second element and inner tube come out with it. Am I doing something wrong?

How do you deal with old mount screws that won't move? I tried heating them with a soldering iron, putting alcohol/acetone/oil, tried different screwdrivers (JIS and otherwise) - nothing seems to work. Thanks!

May I know where to buy the chemical you used and what is it?

Do you remember if the back glass of the front element is curved the same direction as the front glass (convex forward and concave at the back)? There are two glasses, you just didn't put them apart as I did. My lens now after reassembly focuses right only in the middle, I must have flipped a glass somewhere I guess.

Thank You, I have 100-300mm SD and it has some dirt/smudges on the middle element - I can see it rotate when moving the zoom - luckily it doesn't seem to be "even haze" . You have given me courage to try to do it myself. what is the cleaner liquid you are using? Thank You Craig
