Adding onto the switch that takes place; Ren mentioned in a live stream that the switch between REN & kuj0 (Kai = REN’s mate playing kuj0) is to two fold. 1-It represents both REN & kuj0 feeling as though they are the victim in the entire situation. Not just one or the other. 2-As well as how everyone in at some point has felt like a victim in any given situation. So you have the right idea. This song is part of a trilogy telling the story of Betty, James, and Augustine. Betty & James were high school sweethearts. Over the summer he had a romance with Augustine, then he tried to get back with Betty when school was back in session. Cardigan tells the story from Betty’s point of view years later. August tells it from Augustine’s POV, and Betty tells it from James’ side when he wants Betty back.
