A brief overview of MonkeyPox #monkey #monkeypox #medicalnews #drsloane
Hi! I'm 53 years old still having normal periods, my OBGYN recommended this procedure because the lining of my uterus is thick and I'm atba high risk for cancer. Should I do it?
I had an ablation about 13 years ago and it failed immediately. Now at 51 and menopausal I have had bleeding. I’m going to the gyno at the end of the month and am worried they are just going to dismiss me as always. I feel like something is wrong and has been for a long time. I’m hoping they can tell me if something is going on.
Their others way to detect cancer ♋️n the ovaries
Had it done..did nothing. My uterine lining is now even thicker
Okay but quick google search found multiple research studies says that you are incorrect sooooo
Wish I knew this 5 years ago.
I got my endometrial ablation done last week and since then i am getting worst pain in my lower abdomen. Is it normal
Me too..I'm having worst pain too😢😢😢
@@FunintheSun813 check with your doctor. See if u got any infection. I am cured now. The pain was bad just after the surgery for 2 weeks .. i was on antibiotics and I am fine now … it’s been 3 months now
Have biopsy prior to ablation. Then send tissue for pathology.
Having an endometrial ablation gave me more pain leading to a hysterectomy. I don't recommend them
I hv so much pain after this. I can’t work. I am off work almost a week now.
@@sarmisthabandyopadhyay4977 I'm so sorry! I hope you feel better soon!
Y don’t they take a sample before doing the ablation then
My MD did twice.
Sheesh 😢
I m having heavy bleeding and sharp pain
I wasn't put out. It was horrific!!!!! I have to have a hysterectomy anyway now. I made her stop.
I had extremely heavy bleeding that required more than one blood transfusion over the course of several months. All I wanted was a hysterectomy. I begged for it. Nurses at the ER were even saying “why haven’t you been given a hysterectomy yet?” I just have to say as a woman I have been told all my life that i have control over my body and it’s my choice. But no…they pumped me with birth control to try and help my bleeding, two different kinds I was taking at once. Nothing changed, I was back in the hospital getting a blood transfusion. Then when my gynecologist suggested an ablation I started asking her a bunch of questions because my Mom had ovarian cancer. I said I just want it all out and over with. She got so upset at me and started talking over me and saying I had no idea what I was talking about and laughing about the fact that I thought I could catch cancer just because my Mom had it. It was then I sought a second opinion. The doctor I went to was an older gentleman and very compassionate. I remember that appointment how he asked me what I want to do and suggested a full hysterectomy based on my family history. So that is what I did and guess what? They found cancer. That doctor was dead wrong and it was my life she was playing with. Never accept something without weighing out the facts and your family history. And never let a doctor treat you like you’re stupid. Sure they have a degree and immense knowledge but did they study your individual body for 7 years? It doesn’t mean anything if you’re still suffering or end up with cancer.
What is gbs with susceptibility?
It was life-changing for me. I had a hysterectomy eventually but I’m still glad I had it.
Adding alternatives for our symptoms would be helpful ..women deserve better care and men should want us healthy and happy it affects everyone …everyone knows a woman with period issues or menopause
I had my ablation done in 2015. Not only do I still have heavy periods due to fibroids but now I have scarring. So make sure you ask about the potential effects that may come later.
I just had this done a month ago and I'm currently on my period.. it's still as heavy as before and the cramps are also the same. My doctor did tell me I'll see a difference after the second and third month
What’s the other alternative?
Bleeding more than they'd like? Charred uterus? I smell a Christian right mindset........Women's health matters and we need options, not scaremongering and non-scientific terms.
I hate that I came across this video literally 11 months after my ablation & I just so happened to have started bleeding again today which is why I'm on here trying to find any info on adenomyosis coming back? That's how I found this video :(
What others for blood disorder patients if not an ablation?
I have a period about every 3 months and the pain is SEVERE...should I ask for a hysterectomy?
So then whats your solution? 'bleeding more than they'd like' you make it sound like it's trivial. Some women like myself have poor quality of life, anemia, severe cramps and pain, migraines. Why say 'ask in the comments' if you dont bother to respond?
This was one of the options given to me last week at the doctor appointment, the other option would be a hysterectomy. I WAS thinking, Maybe I'd do the endometrial ablation & if that didn't work, Then do hysterectomy. But, I'd have to have possible 2 surgery, then 2 recovery... My mom & at least other family members had hysterectomy & they've been telling me to have a hysterectomy for prioky over 3 yrs now... I'm scared of some things. But I've only heard good stuff about hysterectomys 🤔 So, it almost sound like a too good to he true or something lol... I'm very skeptical.... But, a month ago 1 woulda been signing up for a hysterectomy on the spot if I could have, cuz the very long, super heavy bleeding & bad pain is horrible!!
I had the ablation and now I have Post endometrial ablation syndrome / hematometra and will be having a hysterectomy. The pain from hematometra is like contractions! I no longer have menstrual periods I have them internally because the ablation didn't work, taking progesterone until I have the hysterectomy. My dr said it happens to 1-2% of women who do have the ablation.
I did mine about 8 years ago my period stopped for about years and now I’m starting to get it again very light
So got diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia would a d and c be better?
I got mine done 6 mos ago...and apparently mine has failed me...I'm still bleeding on and off..I have been bloated...having labor-like pain...I'm getting seen tomorrow on this issue...my body just wants me to carry another baby so bad..but pregnancy is too complicated for me especially since I hemorrhage after my last four pregnancies...
I’ll gladly trade severe anemia from debilitating heavy periods for not knowing I have cancer and dying a lil earlier . You’re not scared of things like cancer and death when you have almost no quality of life from debilitating heavy periods That make you perpetually anemic and can’t take birth control because it makes you sick and iron pills make you sick and infusions drop your leptin so low that you eat like a pregnant raccoon in a dumpster gain weight and Need another one in a matter of weeks because your periods are so heavy. Yeah thanks for the public service announcement doc .
I couldn't have said it better myself. When the video was over all I said was if uterine cancer is how I go out then c'est la vie. I knew he didn't get it the moment he said "more bleeding than you'd like" sir ..... this is FAR more complicated than that! Cool stethoscope though bro you look really cool 🙄
Is this the same eblation to remove fibroids ?
No eblation is different. I had that done in 2015 . My fibroid came back two years later
I had a uterine ablation done for heavy for heavy bleeding and he found a polyp in my it was a success and the polyp was not cancerous and all of the tissue tested not a year and some months later I begin to get these horrible what I thought were menstrual cramps that we're coming along well with what would have been like you know almost like it was my time of the month and it was excruciating pain to the point of like I'm passing out trying to go pee or even using the restroom or I had to lay on a heating pad for days and I literally felt like a grizzly bear was ripping me apart from the inside out months and months go by this and they see that I have a 10-cm sized Mass on my ovaries I have masses actually on both ovaries but the one they're worried about is on the right side it is by lobed it has several other masses around it and it looks funny I guess I just say that to say this ladies don't do the uterine ablation it was nice for about 6 months had I known that they couldn't test uterine lining afterwards or that the uterine lining can grow backwards and they can't see the cancer and take longer for them to see it I would have done it I just would have had a hysterectomy but he told me that it didn't warrant a hysterectomy I couldn't have my uterus removed because I just wanted it removed advocate for advocate for yourself because of the end of the day I went to the ER so many times in excruciating pain and it just had always project to cyst that ruptured it's probably a cyst that ruptured 4 months pass and now I'm here in limbo waiting,. To hear exactly what I already know. Please do your research don't just assume the doctor knows best.
Lmao. An endometrial ablation will be my saving grace b/c noone will perform a hysterectomy on me. But I was able to get sterilized no problem. 😁
They do the biopsy first then if it's not suspicious then they do the ablation. My question is, if the tissue is negative can a chemical dnc be done using medication like Misoprolstol to shed excess lining?
Almost killed my wife !!
How?
But then you left with a hysterectomy which I don't want one
Had this done about 4 years ago now having issues and in alot of pain went Thursday for a hysteroscopy and they couldn't get past cervix it was to painful now im needing to have a op to find out whats going on in my womb,
Shit me best thing I ever did no issue it’s been over 14 years
Really ? Periods ?
Do you still take pills?
But if ablation is donne with rezection of endometrium not burning?
Are there things Pap smears can’t find??? apparently I have white blood cells showing up. and I have pain down there but they can’t find anything.😢

Is d and c and progesterone iud 😢 a better option for heavy bleeding caused by thickened endometrium and polyps. Biopsy is already cleared.
This is my problem- thick uterus, endometriosis and adenomyosis. I have a polyp and bleed so heavy! Worse now cuz I'm on blood thinners! Options are ablation or iud- I really don't want added hormones but scared that ablation may make my pain worse.
@@brookiebiceps4743an IUD can be removed if you dont like the results, a surgery can not be undone
Can a endometrial ablation be reversed?
Definitely not
No! You will most likely not be be able to become pregnant afterwards. So, it is not for women who want more children.
Had mine done almost five months ago. Best thing I’ve ever done! I was a little sore, but not in pain. I went back to work three days later with no problems! I would say it’s worth it🤷🏽♀️
Did you get periods ?
Did you get periods and any period symptoms after process done
@@bvskumariI hate when they don’t respond
I had one done I forget how long it's been 2 or 3 yrs maybe. I don't have any periods or symptoms
@@juliepatrick5997 How long was the procedure? How much was it if you don’t mind me asking?
So what are other options? For severe bleeding and extremely painful cramps and long periods.
Of course this comes from a guy
I did it today morning and I’m still in pain but I’m taking ketorolac for pain and I feel better. I had severe bleeding and long periods with anemia so this ablation was my best option
How quick would a hysterectomy be advised for a healthy 38 yo with excessive bleeding to the point of anemia? Most male obgyn hand out rx for bc pills. Ugh. What would other treatments be then?
I got an ablation and the dr called me and said the lab said i had endometrial hyperplasia and then did a hysterectomy. My dr actually tried to talk me into just doing the hysterectomy but, i didn't want to try ablation instead
My Gynecologist is sending me to have endometrial ablation for endometrial hyperplasia since I have anemia. I DON’T have heavy bleeding and never have had it. The first time they saw the thickening was in 2018 during an ultrasound for a cyst on my ovary, wanted to do another one to confirm, but my insurance wouldn’t approve the cost for it so I had to wait until this year. I became severely anemic this year needing blood transfusion and iron infusions and they keep blaming it on my periods but I missed almost half of my periods last year and so far this year they have been extremely light (one pad all day for light days 2-3 days worth, two to three overnight pads a day for medium days 2-3 days and maybe one or two heavy days needing maybe four overnight pads a day per cycle). I’m 38 and I really don’t think that my anemia is being caused by my periods just because no bleeding was found in my GI tract, and everything I’m reading up on says that this procedure isn’t supposed to be used for endometrial hyperplasia. I did have a biopsy done and waiting on the results but gynecologist said usually this isn’t malignant and that’s why he wants to move forward with the procedure. Is this really a safe thing to do for me?
You may have an issue within your diet or your absorption of iron
That's why endometrial cryoablation is a better first line therapy. In office. No destruction of cavity. Can continue to biopsy. Can repeat procedure in future. Can be used with progesterone IUD. No general anesthesia.
