Different settings, different game and driver version. Also, my GPU was switched to silent BIOS in this video, which probably doesn't have big impact on VRAM usage but I wouldn't rule it out.

I've read it is 900p. It would be cool if it was possible to lock framerate to 40fps for 120Hz display and 30fps for 60Hz display. It's playable but some textures look awful.

You can see fps in top-left corner. I didn't use monitoring software because the account wasn't mine and you have to use launch command which has negative impact on trust score to get overlay support.

No bottleneck. CPU usage in this game is high.

That's not a bottleneck. GPU is fully used. This game has very bad optimization. Look at the Ryzen 7 or 9 usage in this game.

Yes, it is. RX 5600 XT will bottleneck R5 3600 in most games. Unless it's CPU heavy or badly optimized.

It is. I'm telling you the same thing. I meant RX 5600 XT is fully used while R5 3600 is usually in 40-60℅ usage. Which can be seen as "bottleneck". R5 3600 has power for more powerful GPU before it becomes the bottlenecking part. Sorry for misunderstanding. It it actually good combo for entry level gaming in 2024.

Sounds more like faulty GPU. If you need to lower the power limit then it doesn't perform as expected. Also, AMD software should not cause this.

​@@Gino-yn4evIt is possible your chip is not able to hold or achieve higher frequencies and then the GPU crashes. You can switch Performance V BIOS to Quiet one with the BIOS switch on the GPU if you have it. It may help as it will clock lower. I don't think there is official way to downgrade your V BIOS. But I've never looked it up. There most likely exists unofficial way though. Maybe even a custom BIOS for your GPU that may fix the problems for you. Do you have crashes or black screens (screen turns black for a few seconds and then you can see the game again). Because I used to have that problem but I already fixed it.

How did you fixed it? Did you disable MPO?

Try my low to medium settings at 1080p. Don't set Texture quality to High and above and Texture filtering to Anisotropic 8x and 16x. These have pretty big impact on performance. I suggest trying Trilinear texture filtering. The game is ranging between 40 and 60 fps. I'm also trying to find optimum settings, but so far no luck. I guess I'll lower resolution to 900p.

Hi. At what resolution are you playing? Are you sure your components are not throttling? How much RAM do you have? And is it connected as dual channel? It is possible that you have lower framerate because of CPU or probably some setting set higher than me.

Most likely because of CPU. Spider-man is an open world game, which is heavier on the CPU. Is your CPU and GPU utilized properly and/or fully when playing Spider-man?

Framerate is too low. Input lag will be pretty high and there will be noticeable artifacting.

Playable? Yes. Enjoyable? Depends on the person playing it. Just 2-3 fps more than before isn't that much considering framerate before was mostly in high 20s. And that is on low settings. Medium preset is averaging at 25 fps.

It was already updated. FSR looks bad. And it looks even worse on 1080p.

@@helmynasser8501 This is mostly preference thing. I don't like temporal methods of upscaling and anti-aliasing. Also, FSR shouldn't be used at such low resolution. It will have too much artifacting.

I was thinking about getting RX 7800 XT too. But I would like to have DLDSR and higher quality AV1 HW encoder. Plus I have bad experience with my GPU crashing way too often. Even now. I'm waiting for the new GPU generation. Hopefully they will be announced by the end of this year.

I have Sapphire. That makes sense as switching BIOS underclocks the GPU and VRAM and also sets lower TGP. I believe it crashes because it can't reach the voltage it needs or it isn't stable at needed voltage. But it doesn't happen very often so it's fine.

I would go for R5 3600. More cache and PCIe 4.0 support. I don't know if R5 5500 is more powerful despite using newer architecture. You need emulator like Yuzu or Ryujinx. After that, all you need can be found on Reddit, RUclips and emulators wiki page.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily a Ryzen 5 3600 problem. More like a game problem. Which seems to be a rule with new EA games.

@@LubomirKonecny yeah I'd say so too Digital Foundry mad one hell of a video explaining the underlying issues of the Dead Space remake the Ryzen 5 3600 was used as an example on how bad the game runs on mid tier CPUs which would perform great in other games

​@@LubomirKonecnyeither the game is poorly optimized, or the 3600 botlenecks the GPU on this game. I launched it yesterday and if I try to put the graphics settings on high with a 7800 XT at 1440p I have stuttering. I even lowered the resolution to 1080p and it was the same at high. On average it runs, even in 4K. And even with AMD fidelity FX upscaling, it doesn't mean anything. The game didn't excite me so I didn't insist but it still sucks. This is not the only poorly optimized game on PC unfortunately, some console ports of Japanese games do not run fully with my config. for example FF XIII-2 was released in 2011 and I had to lower the resolution to avoid stuttering. It's all the more annoying because the game is over 10 years old.

From my experience, it's not always game that's problematic. AMD GPUs had problems with OpenGL. I don't know for how long but I think the driver that fixed this was released in 2022 or 2023. Games like Wolfenstein were unplayable back then. I had just one GPU from AMD but from what I've read on internet, it looks like AMD does have more problems with old(er) games compared to Nvidia. Of course this being new game and from EA, it is more likely to be the game problem.

@@LubomirKonecny well it was the game. I look digital foundry video and after I found a patch named 60FPS fix on RUclips. Now FF XIII-2 run in 4K rock solid. AMD have more bad reputation than problems. Stuttering gone 😎
