Thanks for a very good explanation ,du-bunking an involved process. This has helped me immensely.
So nice to see an MR2 with Kaminari Kit again after all these years! Congrats - You did a great job fitting it. I had the same kit on my Deuce twenty years ago. If I remember correctly I was totally happy with the quality. The only kit (maybe adding Aeroware here) that follows the lines of the body without breaking them. Fun fact: My kit came with a second set of rubber decals for the skirts saying “25 Years Kaminari.“ Make it 45 now. Damn I'm old!
Fun fact , I watched Bmx bandits with my kids two weeks ago. I grew up that movie and my all time favorite movie RAD.
So I actually got the quote and scene wrong from BMX Bandits. But the point was still the same! Oh, and Rad is also one of my all time favorites!
I guess I have to bring the first redtop beams mr2 next year
Looks great! Cheers to a fellow yellow 2 owner! Yours is way nicer.
Very cool!
Wow, I know that took a lot of patience. Your cuts were on point and super clean. Car looks Amazingggg. You can move up the exhaust tips by inserting some rubber in the exhaust hangers.. over time the rubber gets worn and the fatigue make the exhaust drop. Love the wheels, paint and kit. Your car is so clean and rust free.
Thanks! And great tip about the muffler hangers’ rubber…
Heu Charles! We met at the last MR2s at the tail of the Dragon event! Nice vid!
Sweet. What were you driving?
@So90sMr2 This is Emmanuel, i was driving the Mach 5 homage!
Ah yes. Enjoyed meeting you and driving with you. Coming down for this years event?
Hey the new body kit made it to the meet as well!
Looks great man!
Looks like it was a great time! Hope I'll have my Gen 4 there next year!
Looks great!
Looks good sir thanks for video.
I go astock Canadian version 1991 turbo in that color and to be honest this is the best color that fits this vehicle..
Wow, the end result looks fantastic. Thanks for taking the camera along for the process. You always read about fitment but watching your video actually made years of hearing that term make sense finally. I feel like I would have been tempted to have an exhaust shop alter the berk exhaust tips just to avoid some of the trimming.
Love the music at the end! That rear end Kaminari piece will over time start to crack around the tips . I had a very similar piece made by Aeroware and it will crack with those larger than stock tips vibrating. But the MR2 I had that rear kit on was black so it was very hard to tell and the cracking mostly wen around the bottom of the tips. The Kaminari piece has extra support in the middle section whereas the Aeroware is wide open so. Someday when I get the 93T MR2 back I'll put the Greddy sides and Aeroware front lip on and possibly have the rear kit put back on but wrapped in gloss black .
Nice work!
Car looks siiick
where are the 2gr stickers from? im tired of looking at my turbo stickers lol
I had a bunch made about a year ago and was selling them for $25 a pair shipped. Unfortuntely, they are all gone.
I think that I will have some new 2gr decals made in the next few weeks -- silver instead of gold. They will probably be $20-$25 a pair shipped. Let me know if you are interested
Looks awesome!!
What was the price on that beams motor those are my future plans on my 93 Mr2
Same problem I’ve got and will be horn hunting soon. Thanks for posting
when u ended up doing the rear did you have trouble with fitting the konis into the housing?
Hi,we’re did you get the tool that holds the spring so you can remove the C clip?
Sorry for not being on top of responses. The tool part number is 09756-00011. Not sure if it’s still available.
Do you send the harness to get it customized to work on the mr2? And do you have to change fuel pump too? Thanks for your help and have a blessed day
On this project, I probably did not need to replace the fuel pump. But if you are swapping from n/a to Turbo or 2gr, you definitely will. And yes, I sent the harness to Doug Copeland at WireGap. He does good work.
Hello I’m doing a swap pretty much same as you 92 na putting in a beams red top anything I should be looking for ecu axels trans etc thanks for the help
Whaaaat, a lift? Wish I had known this a few months ago ;) Almost caught up on the videos, hauling my project off for exhaust fabrication this weekend but will catch up soon
Looks really good 👍 i have the blue interior that would work well with that also… 🤔
78,000 on the odometer.. nice
That car is awesome. Love it
Great to see a Beams swap in 2024, when everyone has gone 2GR following a decade of 4th Gen 3SGTE swaps 👏🏽👏🏽
Fantastic work man!
Looks great!
Thank you for your tip on how to use the vice to get the retaining nut off the strut arm. Saved my hide!!! Worked a charm when all else failed. Thanks again!
Graphic looks good!👍🏽
What kind of condenser is that? Im having a hard time finding one for my Mr2…. 😢
Thank you for the excellent video. What I’ve noticed is that after cleanup my piston does not feel tight in the cylinder. That is with the seal out. I just screwed it down the coarse thread bolt and it went in pretty easily. Too easily...? But with the new seal in it is extremely difficult to turn. Extremely difficult to get seated. Perhaps I’m going about it all wrong. Maybe I should have just used a C clamp to push it straight down and let the inner workings of the piston turn on the coarse thread bolt? Is any of that normal? Sad that you can’t just go out and buy a damn replacement.
Sorry that I have not been on top of comment responses. You have probably figured this out by now, but there are two piston sizes -- relative to if your calipers are stamped 22v or 16v. And yes, the piston will go in with some pressure (seal needs some caliper assembly grease or equivalent). What you do is push it in as much as you can, wait a few seconds, push it in some more, wait a few seconds, etc. The seal has to relax as you go. Same goes for all piston jobs when you are pushing them back in...
Great work. Why 5W20 oil?
Good job bro 👍
I need to see the bolts that go into the intake
Love the bridge part when testing the sound, nothing calls my attention but cars that do have engine projects like yours. Keep it up!
The exhause sounded awasome. Love it!!
That header, do you know the brand? Or where you bought it?
Header is OEM and came with the engine.
Loving the videos! You do amazing work! I'm also in East TN and have an MR2 that's been in storage for too long (about 15 years), I wish I had more knowledge as I don't even know where to begin with that project.😅
😂🤣😂🤣😂 classic way to tell someone to do the job for you.
Where are you located? Time to get your Mr2 on the road!
What does your car need to be road worthy?
Keep them mr2 videos coming! Love to see the rebuild
Congratulations!
Wow, that was quick and efficient swap, congrats
Did you recharge ac yourself, love the wheels, what are the specs on them?

Amayama is a great resource for OEM parts. That intake manifold gasket is still readily available.
Nice work!
