The quantum theory explanation of quantum tunnelling is a non explanation. Quantum theory assumes quantum tunnelling has no physically logical explanation. Here is an explanation that is both simple and physically logical. A particle is trapped in a potential energy well because it does not have enough kinetic energy to escape. If this situation is in some way unstable, then at some time, the particle could escape. If the situation is stable, then the additional potential of some other particle is required for the particle to escape. This other particle could be a neighbouring particle jostling the well, or a passing particle passing close by the well. This other particle's potential could add to the potential well's potential in such a way that the particle could escape. The average time it takes for a particle to escape such a potential well, would depend on the average time it takes, for 1 of the specific conditions of escape mentioned here, to occur. I think of entanglement as being a function of the stability of energy dynamics. Ie once two particles are entangled the relationship between the two particles is constant despite the trillions of oscillations the particles might perform between entanglement and observation, and the 85% certainty is a function of the probability of one of the particles interacting with another particle in a way that changes its state.

Well done Lancaster uni, however my theory which could be tested does allow apparent transmissions over the speed of light without resorting to spooky at a distance or falling back mr bell for his theory. There is entanglement , yes but only the evidence of a physical test can prove one theory or another. I,m not playing games!
