Only fix that’s worth the time and money “Hall effect”
Taking out the orange cables on the motherboard aren't the easiest. I have an old controller so idk if thats the problem but i had to use a lot of force to take them out and ended up ripping the orange one completely and have a permanent broken controller.
Thank you so much, you just saved me $80!!
they all make this look so easy. i've been working on this today for like 2 hours and the controller is still apart :/ even more super annoying is this is my first time in over 30 years gaming that i'm experiencing drift, and all my older controllers still work fine - ps3, ps4, switch joycon.... just this ps5 controller (and I got the spider-man 2 one) :( I wanna at least be able to keep the faceplate)
got them a day ago these are just awesome. I had airpods pro before these and everything on them is just better the transparency mode the anc and the mic for calls is much much better than the airpods i love them
Super video but unfortunately didn’t help me fix the stick drift 😢
You forgot to mention the sound quality, which is the main concern of reviewing ear buds
Excellent video and tutorial! Many thanks for posting this! Ordering my potentiometers right now.
Getting mine Monday! Thanks for the review!!
Cool video, but I have another "gotcha" to add to the list: the teal housings have these little "guide nubs" above and below the clips that keep them secured to the joystick housing. When prying them back, the bottom nub tends to get bent out of alignment. If you don't notice this and try to force it to clip back into place, that nub can either break off or bend in a way that messes things up. In my case the missing/damaged nubs one of the teal housings made it so that the stick movement jerks rapidly in one direction. I'm guessing the wiper is wiggling just a bit because of the lack of nub and causing the potentiometer to "jolt" when moving the stick. Oh well, now that I'm comfortable taking it apart I'll probably just learn how to use my soldering kit and throw in some hall effect sticks :)
10 dollars shawty ?
also these are def not loud.
Nice review! You share your honest user experience, not an influencer's view. And you explain everything clearly and calmly, 10+!
Tysm bro
Like your video thnanks
The entire Google ecosystem is extremely satisfying.. more so than Apple and Samsung. The integration between phone, headphones, smart home devices , watch and windows is flawless.
Are you using a Pixel phone with your pixel buds pro earbuds?
Yep, I've got the Pixel 7.
Yeah I'm gonna just drop the $70 on a new one 😔
Great review!
these sound terrible I have them
Great review! May I ask how where is the widget for the battery %? I, have the pixel 8 pro and all I, have is a small widget to go into the buds app. Thanks!
It's actually just the Pixel's built in "Battery" widget. when you have nothing connected, it'll just show the phone's battery, but when the buds and/or case are connected, those battery levels will show in the widget as well.
Thanks for the video helped me save 70 on a new controller. Something you forgot to mention is to not over tighten the R1 and L1 screws. If they're to tight the track pad will stay pressed causing all types of problems
It was gonna hit the green line but not enter the goal , she is still good at it .
Can't decide which one I will focus the review or the reviewer 😂😂😂😂
u are drunk , not all time that is the problem
what else could it be?
If you have soldering skill, you can buy hall effect modules with a calibration board. I just put them in the dualsense edge. I plan on getting more modules but all with varying stick tension and putting the hall effects on there
i did the same mod from jung zueng on aliexpress it wasnt as bad as i thought itd be and the calibration is super simple
Honestly, I thought he was gonna install these. This is is just a temporary fix. How is this a "fix stick drift FOR GOOD"?!
Great review im interested in these fir my pixel 7 my current earphones hammerhead razors are hurting my ears
Will it work on xbox series controller ? 🤔🙏
I can assure you that most buds are atrocious with their mic call quality. These are one of the best. Shame their ANC is nowhere near as good as Bose QC ii's though. Maybe a firmware update...
Any improvement on ANC?
@@brw117 Not when I had them. I returned them and grabbed the Bose Ultra's. Rational being that I spend most of my time listening rather than calling.
I like the ps5 controller but they get stick drift so easily it just feels extremely light and comfortable I but the edge controller and it is heavier and I don’t really like the grips under the controller but it still pretty good and I been using it for a couple months and the dead zone setting it come with can help a lot in games that don’t have a dead zone setting like Minecraft
the white disc isn't the potentiometer, it's the wiper. get the V3 PS5 hall-effect joysticks. they will never cause stick drift and you can calibrate them.
Good to know! I'll keep an eye out for those next time I need to fix my controllers.
what are the specific differences of these hall-effect replacement sticks? like is it using higher resistance, or whatnot that makes them different from each other
I've been looking out for a review of those pixel buds pro from someone who used them for a while and this pretty much answered all my questions. thanks!
sound level is really low
Thats on your side… Volume was just fine for me. Heard every word.
Sometimes it also works if you just clean the potenciometr from little debris build up with alcohol cotton swabs and or compressed air. You can also solder new potenciometr or the whole stick module.
If Sony would just make a decent Hall Effect controller that would solve stick drift for the majority of gamers.
Probably will in the future. Hall effects is just starting to lift off again so in 5 years we will be seeing a lot more of it.
I tried to apply this procedure on a PS4 controller, but it didn't improve the drift situation. I already had these spare parts on hand. You might have been lucky with your positive results, so good for you.
To be clear to everybody reading or watching this: no part of this video should be applied to trying to fix a PS4 controller (or any other controller, for that matter). I've never tried to do that and have no idea how similar it is to the contents of this video.
@@bdgeiger4stick modules in dualshock 4 are identical to those in dualsense controller.
@@JSpeedy306yea i saw a video where a dude took a PS4 part to fix the ps5 controller but still fk all that just buy the edge than rip drift stick
Ps4 drift can be fixed by just cleaning the controller the stick modules in the daulshock 4 have better longevity than the ones in the daulsense
You need to replace the teal part which contains the graphite which wears out with friction.
A great overview. Thanks!
Just ordered a set on Amazon for $119. Have Galaxy Buds Pro and AirPods Gen 2 but was curious about the new buds from Google. The price made it too tempting. Had the Pixel Buds A but gave them away because of no ANC so I look forward to getting my hands on them.
Care to give an update on your purchase and experience?
@@josefjerome I fell asleep with them in last night while listening to an audiobook. They were still playing this morning. lol They are fine. Sound quality is ok. Connectivity is ok. I dont use my AirPods anymore and just use the Pixel buds. They switch between my Pixel 8 Pro/OnePlus Open and Android Auto display and have decent battery life. ANC is better on the AirPods but the Pixel Buds Pro are just more comfortable for me.
Pixel Buds Pro are the best earbuds in my opinion.
If it's been 10 months, you love them. Lol video over.
Have you experienced any issues with the materials on the buds? Like has the surface deteriorated at all?
Nope! I'd honestly say both the buds and the case look as good as the day I bought them.
How's the multi-point mode, connecting to 2 devices simultaneously?
It works fine in my experience. I occasionally connect to my phone and my laptop simultaneously and haven't had any connection issues.
Great Review.. sounded like a super professional Tech Reviewer. Only back drop/ambient lights are missing in the video.. otherwise you nailed it.
Great review, thanks
Can you talk about the touch rejection on the Pixel Buds? The problem I have with almost all earbuds is that if you ever have to take them out of your ear for any reason, the fact you are holding them / touching them causes them to start/stop music, switch tracks, change the volume, etc. It's really annoying. It would be nice if the earbuds could sense that they aren't in your ear anymore and not allow input from touching them.
Hello! Touch rejection is very good with the PBP. There is a setting called "In Ear Detection" that works quite well. The earbuds can detect when they're removed and they will automatically pause. I've never had an issue with volume being changed, songs being skipped, or anything like that.
Awesome video man! My phone's a Pixel 5 and I see you have a Pixel 7 with you. Can you tell a bit more about your experience with how the pixel buds connects with a pixel phone? I heard there's a feature that reads your messages on the buds
Hey there - the Pixel Buds Pro work great with a Pixel phone of any generation, and they have Google Assistant access built right in. I haven't used the feature you're describing because I don't use Google Assistant often. But if you have a new message and you have Google Assistant mapped to a long press of one of the earbuds, you can just activate the assistant and ask it to read your messages to you, and it will respond through the earbuds. It can do any normal Google Assistant function in this way. Hope this helps!
Great and helpful review here. Good job!
That new feature just make me a but hard to notice if PS5 is turn on and working 😂
Really helpful video, thanks!
You are very good at this and should review other tech products. 😊 Awesome job seriously love my Pixel Buds Pro as well they are great! 👍 Honestly, though, you very much have a gift for reviewing. Well structured and on point instructional video.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
They were great except they didn't stay in for shit. Too make that makes them garbage no matter how good and use friendly they are
