Everyone says softwood is not suitable for turning. I wanted to try that. I took a spruce board and mahogany veneer and made a bowl out of it. And in fact, spruce is not ideal for turning because it always breaks out. but that works too if necessary. www.epidemicsound.com/de/music

I tried carving for the first time with this piece. As you can see, I still have to practice this. I filled the craters with gold cream and colored the edges with spirit stain. I made this walnut jug from 2 parts. First I turned the outer shape, then separated the jug into 2 halves, hollowed out the inside and then put the 2 halves back together. So that you can't see the joining edge, I decorated the jug with a few rings. www.epidemicsound.com/de/music

I experimented a little with colors on this box. Didn't quite work out the way I imagined. The color is partially blurred during the finish. I tried a purple cream inside. I didn't like it, then I sanded it down again.

Jeder hat ja seinen Geschmack und das ist ja auch total in Ordnung und wichtig!!! Nur soviel Kunststoff herzustellen für eine kleine sichtbare Stelle im Werkstück steht nicht in Verhältnis meiner Meinung. Ich hätte die Spalte einfach gelassen und die Vase anders geformt.... aber wie gesagt Geschmacksache eben Ansonsten gut gedrechselt!
Ohne Epoxy läuft leider heute gar nichts mehr 🙄

Thank you! 🙂 Did you mean the caliper? I've had it forever. But there are countless versions on Amazon. make sure it is made of metal. is important when marking.

Servus Schorschi, freut mich das dir meine videos gefallen. Durch solche videos bin ich ans drechseln gekommen. Ich hoffe ich schaffe es auch jemand zu inspirieren. Kurs hab ich keinen gemacht. Hab mir alles durch zuschauen und ausprobieren beigebracht. Aber kann gut sein das ich noch einen Kurs mache, man kann ja immer noch was dazu lernen. Die Münzen hab ich von dortex.de , die kann man da selbst designen. Ich hoffe du hast auch weiterhin spaß beim schauen meiner videos. gruß Jürgen

Als ich klein war, und es nur 3 Programme gab im Fernsehen, da lief oft so ne Sendung, wo einer in ner Werkstatt bastelte, und im Hintergrund lief Musik von ner Hammond Orgel, ohne das jemand sprach. Deine Videos erinnern mich ein wenig daran. Herrlich. Gute Sachen machst Du, und für die kurze Zeit, in der Du drechselst, hast Du schon viel gelernt. Haste mal Kurse gemacht? Was hoping someone in comments knew what that wood-be bottle opener piece had going on at its core. Some kind of mold. I was wondering if filling it with resin could work but am guessing there wouldn't be much strong structure to adhere to. Thanks for the inspiration.
