Apple VisionPro 2.2 - FCXp on ULTRA wide screen
Hey Guys - so I took the jump today and updated the laptop to 15.2 to run with the VisionPro 2.2 update.. mostly because I wanted to get to the ultra-wide mirrored screen..
WOW.. this is exactly what I hoped for - tons of space for FCPx and for keeping resource folders open and visible next to the editor..
sorry its a bit lengthy - but follow me along for a bit of a dive into the VisionPro ultra-wide display..
the VisionPro and the ultra-wide display is truly a WOW tool - I can not imagine editing on my laptop without the VisionPro again

I noticed in your Calf Visense unboxing video you have the GoPros mounted vertically but in this thumbnail you have them mounted side by side. Have you gotten better results one way or the other?
That is a great question - and im working on a video about that right now - but technically speaking the vertical IS better - because you can get 65mm baseline.. the horizontal mounting end up with 68+mm call it 70. resulting in things looking smaller.... But there are some benefits also, 3D depth pop more. because you have more angle. more importantly I was trying to avoid using Mistika which is a lengthy process, and was using googles old vr180creator app. it require horizontal video. and is a time-saver.. getting back to that in a sec.. The other horizontal benefit im quite taken with, is the GoPro have a 4600pix image circle, my canon have about 4000pix - and the GoPro have a significant sharpness advantage over my canon. *the calf have a 3800pix image circle -that extra 600pix diameter is VERY visible when rendered. and im playing with using a bit more to get into 5000 by using a fisheye that render a larger circle.. so shooting horizontally means we loose a little top-bottom, but keep the sides (like apple do in immersive content) all fo that made me turn the cameras. But because the one camera was loose when shooting the temple video it vibrated, and I ended stabilizing in Mistika, but messed up "level" and you get shots that look like they are leaning.. so you could say I did not save time LOL. actually Im doing a re-render because some of the clips I fixed, need more fixing how that I looked at it a few times.. so much for saving time using a free app. Promise there is a video brewing about all of this, and also with an exact recipe for setting up a GoPro based 180vr camera with a quick de-tour on vertical vs horizontal mounting.. for what its worth - the Sailing video from Jomtien had no loose cameras and show the actual resolution of the camera.. *to really see the resolution, it can be seen on my account on DeoVR, but for full 8K one need a DeoVR premium membership ruclips.net/video/o769jNuHI3M/видео.html
@ thanks for the info! I look forward to your video, I’ve been experimenting with a few different camvate and small rig bits, but haven’t found the best combination yet. I’ve read that VR users don’t look up/down as much as they do side to side, so maybe it is more important to keep the sides.
@@universeinabox23 thats my feeling as well - that there is less looking up vs sideways. interestingly all of apples 180vr content have a black bar top and bottom, almost exactly like the calf cameras just black. thinking there is a bandwidth consideration by removing maybe 15% of the pixels, more data for the rest of the image instead of the top bottom
All this seems fenomenal, but can you really see the text clearly and use if for more than 2 hours ? I tried Meta Quest 3 for programming and gaming and was painful, specially in hot days..
i love how you can see the eye tracking. The bits he is looking at is focusing at a super high resolution, but the stuff in his peripheral vision is a lower resolution
wow - well spotted - the amazing part is the render shift so fast that I never really notice in headset, everything is always sharp. but it cracks me up when taking screenshots because its so visible after.
@ I’m amazed it can keep up with your eye movements and react quick enough for it to not be noticeable. I guess there are some huge performance benefits from this including improved battery life. Also goes to show how terrible our peripheral vision is compared to focused vision if you don’t notice it when in the headset
@@starshipupdates5217 LOL yeah our peripheral vision probably is terrible - my guess its only intended for seeing "motion" of a potential predator.. its actually a interesting hack, giving us only high-resolution sensor in the center of the eye.. imagine if Sony could get away with having high-resolution only in the center 5% Unfortunately they have no idea what we will be looking at first.. so Sony need to stay with what they are doing for now. but I imagine our future headsets will not only be rendering just what we are looking at, but likely be streaming a low-res full frame and asking only for what we are looking at and moving towards, that could easily mean streaming 16k video (4x8K) on less bandwidth than current 8K
I absolutely loved your review of the Vision Pro; easily the best I’ve seen by far. No unnecessary head movements, and you even pointed that out here @6:00, which is rare. It’s the first time I’ve seen a reviewer showcase the scaling based on resolution. Most others just complain about not being able to read text properly while using the base resolution. Honestly, your video has completely sold me on this device.
THANK YOU for the kind words - and for noticing the head movement thing.. honestly its almost impossible to not do a bunch of quick head turns because its a big surface you are looking at.. and it looks like its glued in place.. so the user do not at all notice the head movements. the VisionPro is an acquired taste device, there are hardly any gaming available which is a deal breaker for some, however for both my work & hobbies, which require editing and page-layout using inDesign / FCPx and after effects.. the VisionPro have become my "daily ride" because it works fantastic for this. my hobby of stereo 180vr is so much easier on the big display. but I still say its an very acquired taste. if you are thinking about one, take it for a test drive at the Apple Store.
@ I'm a software developer, and this would be fantastic for my work, as it provides a wide workspace that eliminates the need to switch between desktops.
@@pimisi thats exactly what im finding. normally I would have FCPx open, toggling between "full screen" and a smaller window so I can drag resources in when needed and also reply to text or something. now I have room to see my additional folders and apps on the sides and still have a full top-bottom view of my workspace. ignoring the 3D movies and 180vr immersive content.. this is 100% worth it for MY work situation. being im mostly living on my 47foot boat. loosing a large work-display for a headset is also a win-win.
Just this feature alone is already worth several times the AVP cost.
its definitely easy worth the cost of entrance. been buying "Cinema Display" and other large work screens for the office since the nienties.. the ability to have this workspace in a hoteroom in Utah for a shoot is simply amazing to me. maybe the ONE missing bit, I NOW really wish I could share that screen at least the editing screen with 2-3 other people in the room, to all see this big in individual headsets. *kinda want the same for a social AppleTV viewing experience, 2-3 people being able to watch the same movie synced pause at the same time all for more popcorn etc.but watch "together" feel that is going to be the next killer app to really expand the use of headsets, right now its a anti-social experience.. BUT then so is editing mostly.. and this change the game for me in a big way
Eine sehr schönes Stadt.. Danke für der video.
OH wow Nuno - had no idea you speak German - Danke sehr.
@ my father was German 😀
@@NunoOsswald we lived across the border, so naturally German language was an handy skillset. :-) now on the danish side about 15min from Flensburg
@ I lived in Köln. And later in München (by the way, they were very nice times 😁).
this is incredible!
RIGHT ? totally blowing my mind.. now suddenly I want more flexibility in re-arranging components. thinking we are hearing something mid-november about an updated FCPx - can't wait.
What is the software that you are using in your mac ?
Thats FCPx. FinalCutPro x. It is NOT a dedicated 180vr software's but I find it easier to work in, I have a template for titles in photoshop.
The screen is nauseatingly shaky. Does it do that when you're wearing it too or just on recording?
So sorry about that. - when wearing the headset you do not see the movement at all, the screen is glued to the air in front of you. the recording shows where your head is pointing, and every little movement of your head.
very neat! is Flensburg your hometown? should do something like that about my part of the world too, it's like a time capsule that will become more valuable with each passing decade, while too few people have stereoscopic equipment in their hands
im across the fjord in Sønderborg ish. yeah I keep thinking its worth doing stereo video.. but I was thinking it was meaningful to shoot 360 spherical last century, so im clearly not a measure of sanity. in reality, stereo videos are like 1 view to 20 on my 2D views. but yes agree - definitely take your camera for a stroll and get some more 180vr up :-) *one thing that always amaze me about stereo, people started shooting stereo views almost as soon as cameras were invented.. and we treasure those today..
And now I see why everyone wants this!! Thanks!
there are downsides - like still having to put the VisionPro on the head. but it is an amazing once in the environment.
Nce video, thank you for sharing. I can see this will be a great addition to the suite of opportunities enhanced by Vision Pro
Hey Neil - you are welcome - im just so thrilled right now, I was already doing most of my work-editing time in headset, but this really bumped the usefulness. think the impending FCPx VR update.. which could land on the 15th maybe. really could change how we think about editing outside of the production house environment.
@@Sailing360, that's nice. Are you noticing any unintended bugs with the two dev beta releases?
@@Sailing360 but this really bumped the usefulness. - can you clarify? Is there really no difference when working with colors compared to a monitor?
@@Andrew_Shadrin im still trying to get completely settled on the colors myself, I feel the cast is correct. and if anything I see tooo much black details because of the lack of reflections.. but if I set neutral in headset I feel its neutral also when on monitor. the puzzling thing, the screen capture is "warm" and I killed like general color 50 -10 in FCPx to make it mostly neutral. thinking the screen capture is not profiled LOL can't say I have a fully firm answer on the colors - im not enough into color grading to really notice something thats off. or maybe its not off enough that I noticed it..

Hey guys, great to see info here. I do find it difficult to find good information on how to go about creating 180 VR stuff, the workflows etc. SOO I am very happy to have found this. Have you guys encountered underwater use of dual gopro / DJi¨s ?? I am really looking for a way to use such a setup to create immersive underwater footage that can be used with a quest 3, but still unsure of the whole workflow process, and how to get the best "bang for the buck" . The brilliant part about the go pro is off course that they can be fitted into UV housings of the bat. Would love some info. Also are you danish ? Det har jeg lidt på fornemmelsen :+0)
Wow still amaze about how this gopro looks sharp... Nice video!
THANK YOU SIR - and I noticed you politely avoided mentioning the leaning floors because I got it a bit too off-balance doing this. appreciate your polite selective commenting.
@Sailing360 hahaha, I hate to point at what is already obvious, you mention it in your post so I know you know, I prefer to focus on the positive!
Hi, I love your videos, I want to buy the Do Go Pro, could you tell me what supports I should buy and what are they called please? If you can be very specific I would greatly appreciate it.
Hey im working on step-by-step video about exactly this.. stay tuned :-)
@@Sailing360 Thank you very much, could you put together a video on how to edit the videos to turn them into VR. You are a genius keep it up
Thanks for the video! I’m actually using a GoPro 11 rig with horizontal side by side with one camera upside down. Davinci resolve pretty easily auto aligns rotates them and creates the stereo alignment. I designed and 3d printed a rig that allows you to change the ipd. I rented the canon rig and captured some side by sides and I actually think the GoPro results are sharper and cleaner, but it falls short of the canon in dynamic range… and frame rate at full resolution.
I have found the exact same thing - did a bunch of shots / video clips with resolution targets - there are no doubt the dual-GoPro hold its own against the canon - the canon's dynamic range is a different story - but for that price it really better be. I rendered the GoPro 180vr to 10k for kicks and it actually hold a bit more, which makes sense being the sphere is about 4900 pix diameter. if one was looking for resolution, probably render to 12k and then edit / render to 8K later for cleaner pixels. but a nightmare of yet more file size for the raws LOL. BTW updating the Wat Phra Kaew video, it was shot handheld with the dual GoPro rig, I had a loose screw (literally) and got vibrations, Mistika sorted it and got most of the shot to look better in the process, should be uploaded in a day or two. but thinking I have to toss it on DeoVR to really see how sharp it is.
Thank you I thought I was seeing things but it is true the canon just isn't as sharp or clean. I have watched so many videos shot on the two different setups the canon falls short. I really think the best solution for 3D VR180 is to use a two camera rig or a device with 2 sensors and lens. If they want to use one sensor like canon then they have to be of a larger size or resolution or the image circles need to cover more pixels.
@@kamenwaticlients its very close tho - if you take the still-shot with the canon it holds up - just the video is a smidge less defined. *in all fairness, proper post-production of the canon likely get that detail back, there is a reason most "pro" production are done with the 5.2mm dual lens, but on RED cameras with huge data raw pipeline.
@@Sailing360 Makes sense. I have to learn that post production pipeline. This all new to me.
@@kamenwaticlients for the canon Im shooting compressed in the camera, but I render from the VR-utility app to Prores LT or 422, in final cutPro I apply 1.5 sharpening and then when edited render to ProRes again.. then use FF-tools to compress to h265 its virtually the same thing I do with the GoPros - edit and apply a slight sharpen - then export to ProRes and compress after the fact. Probably my best GoPro result so far is the sailing video from Jomtien Thailand, only in 4k on RUclips - better in 8K on DeoVR ruclips.net/video/o769jNuHI3M/видео.html
The Mac is a foot smaller. You can see the difference in moving around the boat from yours. This one definitely looks like they prioritize more cockpit than interior though too. Was his plotter just an iPad running the software or was it an actual plotter? I would like to one day get something similar that is on a swing arm like that to see inside and out in the cockpit. Looked like a nice size as well. Sailing season is coming closer to an end here in WI
thats a B&G plotter with a proper auto-helm for steering - I was laughing when I realized Blake had a remote in the pocket for for the steering but a swing out arm with an tablet running navionics would play really nice.
Looks great. Beautiful sailing shots. Hard to believe it's two GoPro's 😊
LOL yeah Im struggling with that as well - way better than hoped.
Hi Bo, what is your workflow for edit/cut with this two gopro videos? which video cut program do you use? you must set the both videos to 1:1 side by side, the result is 2:1 vr180.
im shooting both cameras horizontally - the base-line become 68mm if you bump them edge to edge - and you save a ton of logistics by not doing the on-end mounting (albeit it look cooler by a magnitude) I personally shoot 8:7 5.3k 30fps - however many swear by shooting 4k 60fps... I start both cameras by one-click start of the shutter, try to hit both the same time ish... then record maybe 10 sec of the iPhone stop-watch running on 100/th sec timer. be VERY careful - you want to get these so both cameras see the timer clearly at the same time, its better to hold up a bit high so you reflect darker background than reflecting sky. - let cameras run - grab your shot. in "post". I use Mac preview trim feature - to trim to the exact same time point on both videos.. trim the front only - ready to stitch open "vr180 creator". click stitch video and drag left to the left box and right-video to right box.. click render, upscale to 8k higher or standard file size. render. in a few minutes you will have a 180vr side by side video.. you could drop this on RUclips.. it will play in headset at this time. Or you can drop edit it as you would any bit of video from here, after outputting use "prepare to publish" in vr180 creator before uploading
@@Sailing360 I mean the 1:1 Format. Can the GoPro record in 1:1 or make you this in Post?
@@pocketkai GoPro record in 8:7. you don't have to make it 1:1. the all vr180 creator will take the file as it come out of the GoPro - well two of them - one from each camera and convert to 2:1
You know the live streaming is for porn right? It's VRCam girls. So yeah, there are a lot of people watching live streams in their headset lol. Also, I got my CALF Visinse yesterday and it's trash. The video quality is worse than my Insta360 EVO and the lenses introduce horrible chromatic aberration on most of the picture. It's almost unusable and I will stick to the EVO until they fix it in FW if that's even possible. Tempted to just return it.
yes I know - about the main use for live-streaming - and people behind calf and calf 2 - are more or less adult content creators. yeah in the current condition the Visinse is kinda useless - the upside is the incredible ease of use - down side - until firmware completely changes when we have at the moment - I rather use dual GoPro's because the result of your effort is not worth the work at this time.
Wow, so sad to hear all the negative reviews on this cam but thanks for making it clear. Sounds like I’ll stick to my 5 year old Insta360 EVO too. Btw, good luck on returning, I emailed them to ask about this and it sounds like they don’t offer any type of refund unless you got a faulty camera. Keep us updated. Thx again.
@@tonysenterprises1360 wow surprised to hear about the refund policy. To be honest Im not as negative as it sounds - I actually think its a camera with a huge promise, but am skeptical until I see the upgrade making it do what was kinda implied on the product page.
Thank you for sharing! =) so pity because of that low quality even its cheap... i hope they will invest more money and next time create something similar to evo but with quality of canon rc5 )))
I feel with time and firmware revisions this will surpass the eco and vuzeXR but not get close to the canon R5c, I do not think the current sensors will get us past the original calf..
@@Sailing360 You can ask them as i did before buy. Thay said there is no plan to improve and this is why this camera is cheaper then regular Calf =) So i doubt it they will improve... Whole point (i hope i am wrong) is to push you to buy more expensive Calf camera with better video and photos.
@@AntonBarcelona I feel they are hitting with a "pro" firmware version - that one can at some price maybe upgrade to - thats the gist of what I have heard back from them anyway. I REALLY love the portability of this over my canon.. but we both dislike the current output.. so hoping..... hoping. LOL
@@Sailing360 I hope its true! ) i we will have something like evo 2 )
It looks pretty good in the q3 headset. The only issue I had was the raindrops on one lens and not on the other. You know, rain to be so uncooperative. But I did like the hand of God touch trying to keep the rain off the lenses😂😂
LOL - I need to change the time-out of the screens because to save power the Gopro's goes black screen in like 30sec and I can't see how close I am I was actually surprised that the tracking shot of car and tracking of the two walking ladies was not more upsetting
Looks like you had fun out in the rain😂
Also why don't you put a still shot of your rig at the beginning or at the end or both this way people know what you're working with
Are these available for the public now or still preorder? Also this seems like THE best 180 vr option under 1000 for ease of use and quality.... would you agree?? Thanks.
the Calf Visinse can be ordered at the moment yet - it is STILL pre production firmware - personally I expect them to fix most of the glaring issues - but they are very clear that even when fixed - they intend this camera to be the instamatic - not having a ton of pro features..
@@Sailing360 thank you... so does this compare to the ego or iPhone 16 or much better?
@@christianlamb much DIFFERENT - it is immersive 180vr - the iPhone / ego / BeamPro cameras are 3D video. 180vr is stereo like those but 180 degrees on each cameras.
Great video. I am having problems registration my unit. I set up the username and password and it appears to be converted to Chinese or something. When I hit enter I get a small Chinese pop up. I also am unable to connect it to my computer to do the updates which would most likely fix the Chinese language. Any thoughts? I am at my wits end here trying to figure these issues out.
for me the BIG break-through was realizing that the user-name should NOT be an email. so make RCflyinglife. user and pass calf123445 or something like that.. when it gets more Sofisticated firmware adjust in the future. before doing this naturally - connect to your wifi.

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to upload my videos to RUclips so I can play them back on my Quest 3? I bought the camera because it was cheap, compared with the other 3D VR180 options, and claimed in the advert to be seamlessly compatible with RUclips and Quest 3. My attempts so far have failed. I can playback with no problems using SkyboxVR but of course that only lets me watch it and I can't share. I believe the issue is something to do with metadata, whatever that is. I had a go with Handbrake and with ffmpeg but I am obviously doing it wrong because none of it works properly.
LOL - yeah I feel they missed a couple things here - first of all - that meta-tag SHOULD be included when the camera saves the file...then it would be upload ready. SECOND.. since its not - use web time-machine and look for "vr180 creator" any google search including "download" should find it. Install and open.. then select "prepare for publishing" then save that file, it will be in the same folder with added "infused". upload THAT file.. once processed it will be 180vr and can be seen by anyone with a vr-headset and the RUclips app
@@Sailing360 fantastic! I knew it was going to be easy once I found out what to do. As you say, it's ridiculous that Calf didn't think of this before they released even the early bird units. Anyway, I have just uploaded a test video to my channel to see what happens. I understand it can take quite a while for it to be fully processed so it plays in full quality, in both VR and 3D format, so I will check on it again later. At the moment it's only 2D 1080p so I hope that changes. The other thing I find slightly odd is that the VR180 Creator software is only available from an online archive. Any idea why there isn't a current version? I would have thought VR was a booming marketplace for content creators so surely there's a demand for something like this. Or maybe everyone except me knows what they're doing. I certainly have no plans to go commercial and my content will only ever be for friends and family, but I am very grateful for your help after two painful days of tearing my hair out!
@@Sailing360 I'm happy to report that some time later the playback settings now offer a 2160 (4k) option. I guess, for now at least, that's as good as it's going to get.
@@colinmscott the vr180 creator was discontinued a while back by google. its a solid app tho
Business trip? You got the extra leg room seating I see :)

Welcome🎉
thank you sir - quick question - how the heck do I turn off the rain.. the way this is going.. I could probably swim into heaven from here.. straight up.
@@Sailing360 welcome to Thailand!
They say we got two seasons hot, an raining and hot
These do seem like a good idea for longer voyages where the effort of cooking seems like to much of a task. Ill have to check the cost though as ive noticed any sort of instant camping food pouches tend to get expensive. I like this format. Good to see you cooking on the boat 😅
HEY Adam - yes they are convenient - that said - there are issues with “easy” such a a ton of plastic waste and obscenely high cost for 500 calories. and I generally feel most of these are 500cal bags, whcih don’t go far when working the boat.
@@Sailing360 yes I was thinking the same thing with the trash issue. And I do feel they are way over priced. Just like with everything related or geared towards a purpose. They slap the word "camping" or "survival" on it and feel they can charge a premium for them. Much like boat things 😂 And the average person eating these would be hungry again in less than an hour. We have actually started eating carnivore a few months back and it has done wonderful things for us. I have lost a ton of weight, gained muscle and stamina and I am usually fueled up by one meal most days. I have also gotten rid of the pain in my knees and my stomach issues are all gone as well. My hair and skin are so much healthier too. I have a big mane now lol.
Are u still happy with the Catalina or have you been active in looking for a new vessel?
well I love the catalina - that said- its on the market / for sale.. i did buy a NoordKaper earlier this year.. if you look one of the newer videos shows it.
Hello. Hope you are well. Look forward to seeing how this translates into the sailing videos.
its already - well with other cameras check the noordkaber 47 video.. remember putting on quest vr headset and watch in RUclips app
Hmm is it just me that find the quality not impressive at all? Looks like from a camera from 2012 or something. Got mine, but didn't test it yet.
I feel the pixel-mapping is off yet - lets hope they solve that with the next couple firmware updates. Generally the easy of useage is the big charmer.
Another thing with uploading onto youtube, it only displays the current CALF 2 resolution at 4k. I wonder if youtube will detect and display the upload in 8k if CALF 2 reaches it's promised resolution.
youTube cuts off at 4K end of story - at least at the moment. you can use DeoVR for higher resolution. *interestingly, I uloaded identical 6k and 8k files and and found that the 8K had significantly better details than the 6k while playing back in RUclips 4k. so it IS worth tossing larger files after youtube.
I don't think there's any hope for the mics, they sound terrible.. but the good news is usb-c mics work great without any issues
im afraid you might be right - but secretly hope this is a firmware thing.. but wow its bad LOL
who want to use a mono mic the size on a pin hole for video recording? Ive bought 2 lavalier mics and also a comica shotgun stereo mic to go with it
@@francoispierretremblay4784 like that setup - are you using the lavs for talent? you have pretty good taste in gear, may I ask what stereo shotgun did you settle on ?
@@Sailing360 I have the CALF Visinse, and K&F Concept 76 inch Camera Tripod with Rotatable Multi-Angle Center Column, and ULANZI R099 Camera Clamp Mount Accessories for Action Camera, and ZHIYUN CINEPEER WEEBILL 3E Mirrorless Gimbal Lightweight Stabilizer, and ZasLuke Wireless Lavalier Dual Microphones, and Comica Traxshot Pro Super Cardioid Transformable All-in-One External Shotgun Microphone, and 2 Delkin Devices 128GB Power Micro SD Card UHS-II (U3/V90), and 2 UBeesize LED Video Light Kit. I didn't understand your question about talent. (I speak french) I didn't try that setup yet. I'm flying with that tomorrow morning to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico and I will make tests this week with all of those things. Hopefully I will have the permission to bring that to the Sammy Hagar Birthday Bash show at Cabo Wabo Cantina to shoot at least one song. I also bring my Canon EOS 90D DSLR Camera with some lens and GoPro HERO11 Black and iPhone 14 Max Pro for other testing not regarding VR. I also have 2 fully equipped studios for photo and video, one in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico and one in Montreal Canada and will makes some other tests there in the following weeks, including green screen background for VR passthrough.
Great real world demo! The resolution looks lower than I was expecting, but the aberration doesn’t look as bad as I thought it might.
Yeah me too - i feel its a bit rough - specially compared to my still working VuzeXR which is virtually as easy to use. albeit without the screen
Nice video.
Thank you sir.
Thanks for the review, I have one on the way.. the bell on RUclips is so your subscribers get instant notifications when you upload a new video.
Thank you KingJames - its a very cool little camera - and by far the most portable 180vr camera I have. Im using "VR180 creator" to create the meta tags to drop it on RUclips aha - had no idea why people who know what they are doing with RUclips videos keep saying to click that also. thank you.
does this accept microSD cards such as e.g. insta360 X4 uses? never heard of TF cards before.
YES I have scanDisk extremePro card in it. the TF is a fairly typical Chinese manufacture (and others as well) label - meaning they did not pay license fee to use the "microSD" sticker. but works the same.
Dont listen to him. The only micro sd card that can write at 100 mbs is the Delkin UHS-II V90 that is what i got and it is perfect!
@@francoispierretremblay4784 I ordered it - can't wait for it to arrive
there's a market for vr180 streaming in the adult industry and possibly mixed reality or game streams , nature streams , i really wish there was a live platform in vr
thats probably very true - im 100% positive you are right about the adult industry, VR live-cam why not. I can see live streaming a lot of events. but think like you said games probably more likely to motivate people to both own and use an headset.. the game experience in the VisionPro is amazing. (but also probably 17k black magic cameras)
How easy or difficult was the initial set-up process for the CALF VISENSE? During the initial login/ sign-up stage after unboxing... did it ask for your email ID/ username, password, phone no., etc... to create your account? After WiFi connection... did it download/ update the camera firmware?
ONCE it worked - it was easy - they only wanted a user-name (no email) and a password basically click on registration - then enter a user-name and password (twice) click submit.. done. After WiFi it connected and told me the firmware was up to date. according to support there will be a fresh firmware update in a couple days. BTW. very accurate wondering about the setup - their server seems to have crashed / overloaded - so a lot of tries were bounced for a couple days.
Cool review, always checking out your VR / goggles based video stuff. Strange with this video not sure if it’s the format / device Audio seemed low on the tv, same time different devices seem to have their own processing of audio. Cool seeing the details and the demo clips. Yea that update needs to come soon jagged
Im liking your GoPro rig. I see you got the CAMVATE Bottom Plate. I do like how you mounted yours to the rods. That gives me some ideas.
Thank you sir - im actually thinking to boil it down more - and use just one tube - turn the cameras horizontal which gets to 68mm IPD. and align them by simply resting them on the back (screen) on a flat surface when securing the single-side clip. that will loose a lot of volume, but need a bit more care in setup.. and require sliding at least one camera off the rod to recover the memory card / charge battery.. but.. smaller.
@@Sailing360 I do like having the battery doors up so I can vent heat and plug usb power into the cameras, and access to the cards without moving anything.
@@CraigTooms yeah thats kinda what I keep coming back to, the rig simply function better on end. * the one downside - im lazy and when stood on end "vr180 creator" will not accept the GoPro files - and I have to render-rotate (vr180 creator do not accept meta-rotate LOL). Or mistika
Well we caught your Sunday shenanigans 😂❤
LOL - just figured I should knock out a short video - heading out for the week - might grab some samples around - problem is finding boats for sample shots.. can't use the same everytime Happy Sunday.
Did you ever used any other vr180 cameras? The only "good" thing for the moment that I see is slightly more details vs my vuze xr. All the rest is very bad for the momemt. Exposure is bad, colours too. The worst is even with sunight a moving object is jumping. It looses frames, but not the same for both eyes. So, it is uncomfortable to watch! I hope they will fix this with firmware. With low light, it is impossible to watch when something is moving. It jitters all the time! Chromatic aberations are the last problem for me, or cutting up and down fealds.
Right now it can be considered a scam lol. First ebcause it needs a lot of light to get rid of some of that noise, and second because it can not manage that much light. Third, it doesnt look like 7k, more like like 3 but recorded from a nokia 3100. My vivo x100 ultra records 1440p per eye, and the image is way better. Of course those videos are to watch in flat-sidebyside. It needs a lot of fixing cause this feels like a bad chinese ripoff. (I got mine today, btw, not hating just because)
@sesinhosantos5047 I still hope they will fix it. The calf pro gives a decent quality. Abot light, you are right. There is a gyroscope inside, but it is not used. Without a gimbal, it is completely bad. I still think that it gives a little bit more details them my vuze xr, but wth noise and jumping. For the moment I use my vuze. At calfglobal, they said, they know abot frame dropping, but it was fixed before shipping. They ask me to reinstall the firmware. I ask them to give me the link for it. They gave me the procedure how to flash
Yes I have shot with a couple different cameras - I have the original calf - which is better but not a lot better. and use the canon for work related shots. just yesterday mocked together a rig to try with two GoPro 12 with lens mod, cost for that rig is exactly the same $700 as the new calf.. but significantly more detailed images ruclips.net/video/hM3Ih59QTBQ/видео.html
@Sailing360 I tried myself with 2 action cameras sbs. The priblem that I think is impossible to fix is the synchronisation. My brain and my eye feel directly that and I have a headache. I can watch this kind of video for 3 min. Then I feel it. Btw, with visense I found out that it can't handle correctly 100mb bitrate in low light. 50 mb is quite ok.
@@alexlevkin630 interesting - might have a go at turning mine down to 50 then.. thank you for mentioning it. think the action cameras biggest problem is syncing.. but also to have the perfectly aligned before starting. they really must be squared up. - once thats sorted I can watch the action-cam version as long as what comes out fo my canon
Thanks for sample clip. I am also waiting the camera. I think calf visinse focus on social media like instagram. Many guys focus on the function and manual setting and that makes them uncomfortable. However I think this camera for simple user who just upload pictures without editing. Anyway thanks for movie clip😊
think you are right - its a very specific user group - on the upside - it is also for now - the most compact camera with close to 8K resolution. and I feel the "dark" shadows can be opened with an reverse S curve in post. I ordered a faster microSD card to make sure its fast enough for the cars.
You're right, quite impressed with the sharpness/details. That stretched crap on the top and bottom still makes me say "no thanks" though. I do look up and down in VR.
Yeah im kinda on the fence about the stretched look. interestingly apple have chosen to but a black bar on top and bottom of their official immersive videos, thinking it have to do with removing pixels from the file / stream - a black bar in post with a slightly feathered edge might work nicely to make this official ;-)
Edited? Is this not straight from camera? Have you edited this in Davinci resolve?
this is straight out of the camera - I trimmed the start-end of each clip using "preview" on the MacBook- then dropped it on FFtools to create one file with audio-video passthrough no re-compression. I DO think the camera need a curve - and it should be applied in camera, but is also easy to "open" the shadows in post.. I do not like the zig-zag lines in things like the palms in the background.. and probably would rather have a app render this outside the camera.. but I must say its nice having finished files out of the box.
Now I've just watched it on my quest 3. The purple color fringing is terrible. Even more terrible is the sound, that's so choppy and no wind reduction.
@@pantainn yeah the audio really is strange - some of it kinda sound like underwater almost - not sure what is going on with that.
I will get mine maybe friday i guess it is in alaska now and was in taiwain yesterday. WHat is the sd card needed to film at 8k 3d 180?
there are no info in the box - but im wondering as the card I pulled from my Canon R5c (microSD) is probably not cutting it, as shown with the stuttering cars. *the camera is shooting 7K. 7200x3600 px video and stills
*probably a extreme pro
@@Sailing360 i saw that the microsd max write is 140 mbs and that cam write at max 100 mbs. the next firmware will allow 8k.on a personal note you should really mute or add free music on your video. it is very annoying.
@@Sailing360 bought a samsung evo 512, jittery no matter what. I looked for the higher numbers I could find in known brands.
