In this tutorial you will learn how to make a leather waist bag,
aka fanny pack, aka bum bag. The dimensions of the finished bag are approximately: 22cm wide x 15cm high. Finishing the edges on vegetable tanned leather consists of three steps; bevelling, sanding and burnishing. The tools you require are an edge beveller, a sanding block or sand paper and an edge slicker. Before burnishing the edges with the edge slicker, you should moisten the edge either with a bit of water (don't make it too wet) or using a burnishing agent such as Gum Tragacanth or Tokonole.
