U got this girl! Everyone is here for you. I lot my dog to cancer the Wednesday before Xmas. I fill my time with all kinds of things but the quiet in the house is hard since it was just me & her. In those moments I try to do one of the following reminding myself to focus on the awesome things I have planned for 2023, turn on music/podcast, or call a friend to chat about life. I applaud you for your vulnerabilityas its not easy and not something I'm good at. Im working on it and was inspired by your video. *hug*

Emily, you are loved. I lost my Auntie last March just after her birthday. She was 10ish years younger than me and was my quilting buddy even though she was 8 hours drive from me. I haven’t touched my sewing machine since. I miss her terribly. I know you missing your husband is far greater than my Auntie, but, I feel you. Wish you the best. Emily please know that you are loved and supported! Grief is hard and is not the same for everyone. It’s ok to feel. It’s ok to cry, to laugh and everything in between. I recently lost my “dad” (father in law) of 40 years and have had a hard time engaging in just about everything. One thing that helps me on my days off from work is to set an alarm, take a shower and get drew. I spend quiet time reflecting on our time together and how can I honor his legacy in some small way that day. I allow myself to cry, to smile through the tears and to feel the grief. I know it will become less sharp of a pain so to speak but all in good time. My journey is different from yours but there is no playbook for grief. You do you and we will all be there for you. Hugs.
