is Sims 4 REALLY that bad??
Просмотров 13 тыс.7 месяцев назад
In this video, I give my thoughts on Sims 4 after playing the game and its expansions for more than 500 hours. Let me know what you think about Sims 4 in the comments! #sims4
Sims 3 came during the golden age of gaming
I played sims 3 since I was a kid, had a lot of expansion packs, remember it was on disc too 😂 I was like 18 when I played sims 4 for the first time, and seeing it all over the internet I grew excited bc it looked so clean cut... I played it for a whole 2 hours and then ditched it fully... It was HORRID to play and understand even. I went back to our ANCHIENT computer JUST to PLAY SIMS 3 😅😅 but then eventually I couldn't anymore, and tried sims 4 again I made it fun, but in my heart I yearned for sims 3... but I had no money to buy what I had on the discs from my childhood collecting the expansion packs... One day, my bf saw me being sad and cracked it all, I had sims 3 again and might never open sims 4 ever again ❤ the chaos of sims 3 has my heart and soul, even if it bugs out crazy
whats crazy to me is that the sims 2 still has a big and active community that is constantly making mods and cc for it. i love that there is so much love for the game. also i really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!
the TLDR is yes it is still good.
Yes, it is!!! I will play Sims 2 till I die! But to be fair Sims 4 is also good. They are just different
Yes its worth it
1:40 It's not that hard to believe, in fact it's pretty easy to understand why the open world was cut. TS3 was well known throughout its entire lifespan to be either very difficult to run or impossible to play in older computers. Even if you had a state of the art PC at the time, it likely struggled to run the game, especially if you had a lot of packs. They obviously want the series to run in as many PCs as possible so they quickly realized open world was a really, really bad idea.
I really don’t know why i love so much this game knowing all of its flaws LOL. I have over 2.000 hours playing the game, and i focus a lot on gameplay. But i guess that one thing Sims 4 does very well is that charm that only the sims franchise has. I agree with every single thing you said. I don’t know how much games changed over past 10 years, but i guess the charm and the cozy game vibe Sims 4 has is what makes it so successful between fans, myself included. There are some stressful days after work that sims 4 brings me comfort. My favorite sims game is sims 2 since my childhood and recently i’ve been revisiting Sims 3. It’s a hell of a difference haha but i guess each game has their own value. I don’t understand why people in internet get so angry when people talk negative things about a game they like. I find it interesting to hear a different opinnion, and see all the points i agree with. Never felt attacked ever. And amazing video by the way.
Something I feel a lot of people skim over when talking abt TS2 is how well the expansions synergise together. They were MADE to work with each other, regardless of if you didn't have other packs. One of my biggest issues with TS4 is how isolated each new EP feels. They introduce all these new features but it often feels like you HAVE to dedicate one family to a specific pack if you want to get anywhere with it, and it makes it feel disjointed. The design and gameplay of all the Sims 2 EPs are integrated so well that you dont realise. Hell, a lot of your points about hobbies and interests were a feature ADDED with an EP :P Welcome to the community man. Hope you stick around. We've got a lot to offer.
The sims 1 has better animations than the sims 4 except for the drowning animation though since the sims 1 has no actual drowning animation as they just stand in the pool then immediately death pose on the surface of the water then disappear after the death message shows.
Yes. I can get lost in the game for more than 24h easily.
Sims 2 is the best
The fact that its so hard to buy the Sims 2 because they literally made it unbuyable...
Google Sims 2 AIO installer. Its essentially abandonware, they don't even allow people to claim ultimate collection on origin anymore.
I want to play sims 2 again so bad. I remember it was all that I played as a kid
Still? TS2 is my comfort game when I am disappointed in "modern" games. I can install all of the DLCs from DVDs, no stupid launchers, no stupid tech issues, just playing it as it is. My only concern is the purple soup phenomena.
purple soup???
It does have its cons, but if you find a few mods. Shiii
yes
I disagree on the no emotions part. Sims are happy, sad, angry, annoyed, furious, and embarrassed (when they walk in on someone in the bathroom). It is more of a reaction and it doesn’t stay for long (except for when being furious at another sim). Sims 2 is my favorite and it is nice to see someone show it the respect it deserves!
I fixed that leftover issue with a mod, it was driving m nuts the amount of food wastage that was happening.
So true!
I like how this review feels like Sims 4 came before Sims 3. 😂
Sims 2 is soooo worth it and if you ever play Sims 2 modded, it will elevate EVERYTHING. There's a mod for skill building on community lots. There's a mod for grabbing single plate leftovers. There is a mod that will tweak almost every aspect of the game. I pretty much only play Sims 2 and Sims 3 as they hold my attention and interest effortlessly and I actually CARE about my Sims and what happens to them.
I’m so glad so many younger people are discovering sims 2. I played 1 when I was 8, 2 came out when I was 11. It cemented me as a simmer. This is why a lot of us gripe over the sims 4.
You should do expansion pack deep dives!
Sims 2 has a lot of good features but it has to be the most challenging game. I constantly felt like I was fighting to get my Sim to do what I wanted it to lol
YES IT IS! 💜✨
I personally prefer 2, because it's alot easier to play in the style I like
08:22 lmaoooo Florence being disrespectful af 💀
i was in disbelief 😭😭
😂😂😂 Sims 2 will make you food aggressive!
I am still playing the Sims 2. I like the goofyness.
I wish I could play this again. Have the base game & all the expansions! Used to play it for hours with no issues! TS3 I had problems but still loved it & TS4 lost me, I enjoy it but not as much as the other two
you still can if you sail the seven seas 🏴☠️
Been playing Sims 2 since like 2006 and im still amazed, I love that in this game Sims actually have opinions in topics and can disagree with eachother that also affects relationships. Also the modding community is great, there are alot of videos that go over most useful mods and thanks to them i could run sims 4 smoothly and with shaders that make it look sometimes better than TS4!!
Most people just mod those last two problems out of the game so I basically forgot they were problems
TS2 remains my most favorite Sim game going into 2025. TS2 is absolutely magical, with your seems living their lives through their wants and fears. Children running to their parents when they get home from school to hug them, sims cuddling in bed sleeping.. It all feels very wholesome and cute. Beyond this, you can get by with just a bunch of recolor mods in The Sims 2, It's VERY feature and object rich.
Quick answer. Yes, the sims 2 is still fun, plus you don’t have to own 535 expansion packs. I regularly go back to TS2, first I’ve tried to “update” the game using mods, for making it look more modern, but now I just go back and play as it is, besides the nostalgia factor I adore to play like if my sims were stuck in the past, in an era before everyone have their smartphones and smartstuffs, this is 2005, 2006 at its peak.
I am still play sims 2 ! Love building full neighbourhoods !!!my pleasant view is on 5 th Gen and so much fun
The few things you didn't like are easily fixable with a few mods! With some mods and default replacements I was able to make TS2 the perfect game for me. On the contrary, no matter how many mods I put in TS4, I was not able to fix the many issues it has.
that’s good to hear! im downloading some sims 2 mods at the moment, cant wait to jump back in
The Sims 2 for rotational gameplay, the Sims 3 for family legacy-style gameplay, and I am set for life!🙌
i was never a big fan of rotational gameplay until i started playing sims 2! so much fun
I try to download this on my PC, The sims 2 mansions and garden stuff aka the ultimate collection but it crashes every time i try to leave CAS and load a neighborhood. I dont understand the technical jargon when i look up how to fix this issue... Does anyone have a tutorial link or any help for how to fix this and what could be causing it? Any help is very appreciated, Ive never played Sims 2 and I really want to try it!
just google "sims 2 osab" there will be github page with instructions, its an installer with fixes for modern pc.
And relationships are also one sided, which is not the case in ts3, if I remember right
7:46 There are mods that enable gaining skills on community lots over at More Awesome Than You (MATY) and over at Insimenator.
And a mod for leftovers by Moghughson over at MTS. Think lazy Duchess has got a more updated one influenced by Sims 3 & 4.
insimenator is crazy 😭 but i will definitely be installing
Honestly, 2:11 I wouldn't say *insane*... I'd say... the norm. We're SO used to these stripped down expensive ass games nowadays but back then we had SO much freedom SO often... Dude, SimCity4? You can make your own map from scratch and export it to Sims 2!!
Imagine if we ever get remastered Sims 2 with open world and more expansions while the core game stays the same! Wow! Truly the best Sims game, especially when it comes to gameplay and storylines
I can’t start to play over and over again :D because I’m lazy to sort all CC I have The game is already installed hahah...
I so wanted The Sims 5 with open world etc. Let's hope they fix the current game if they're going to keep it going.
I don't mind the graphics. It's the first sims game I played so I didn't have any pre-established expectations, and I don't mind stylization over realism. What drives me insane is the loading screens. The best update for me would either be to eliminate them all together, or make them last like a second.
Great in-depth analysis! Thanks for taking the time to dive deep into the Sims 2.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Blame EA
yes it is
I have a much different perspective than most sims 2 fans! I actually grew up with ts4, but have gone on to try every game other than ts1 The sims 2 is the best! No doubt about it! At first it took me a while to look past the graphics, but nowadays I feel like it holds up very well! Better than the sims 3 does, I think.
I've played TS1 TS2 TS3 and TS4... But always a player of TS2 since 2005, TS2 will always be in my heart!
