When you do finishing, the holes will get smaller and the yarn often 'blooms' to fill in spaces so it looks more like fabric vs a grid. Its especially true with weaving yarns since they still have machining oil in them from the processing. Let it sit and soak in a hot sink of water with a bit of no rinse laundry detergent (Eucalan and Soak are the big names in the US). Let it sit like 20 minutes the first time. You want to have some color catchers on hand in case there is loose dye in the yarn. Wait until you make handwoven towels. THEY ARE AMAZING.
