2023 ISOO Fellow Presentations: Day 3
As sponsors of the ISOO conference this year, The Eye Cancer Foundation funded for 8 of our fellows to fly out to Mombasa, Kenya and take part in the ISOO. Of the eight fellows funded, six presented on various topics related to ocular oncology such as retinoblastoma diagnosis within Uganda and Nigeria, the International Retinoblastoma Comprehensive Course (IRBCC), histopathology within Amman, Jordan, and more!

Dr. Finger wrote this lecture to share this experience with intravitreal injections. Since he first used intraviteral anti-VEGF agents for the treatment of radiation maculopathy and optic neuropathy, there has been quite an evolution of his intravitreal methods. Most methods for intravitreal injections are similar, but there are two key points that differentiate Dr. Finger's technique from others!

Ophthalmic Photography and Angiography Part 4: Retinal Vascular Tumors

Part 4 builds on what we learned from Parts 1 through 3. Now we use those tools as they relate to retinal vascular tumors. We benefit from being able to see and image these tumors as they are located anterior to the retinal pigment epithelium. Each has a unique vascular pattern and does or does not leak into the vitreous on fluorescein angiography.

Part 3 builds on what we learned from Parts 1 and 2. We examine how the pathophysiology of each tumor affects the flow and deposition of fluorescein dye as it enters and exits each tumor. See the Starry Sky of Micro-aneurysms in Metastasis. Note the course vascular patter of choroidal hemangioma and the late intense staining seen with fluorescein angiography of choroidal osteoma.
