    I wish in the past we had the information, and education about mental health that we have now. People in our community have/are being ostracized, judged and have been misunderstood by their families and peers for too long. It's hard to blame our elders for this because they were brought up in a different time with a lack of information that we have now. It's our responsibility for the informed people in our community to educate the youth and even our elders about the stigma of mental health within the black community.

    • @StacyAnnBuchanan
      @StacyAnnBuchanan 3 года назад

      Yes to all of this. Mental health/illness within the Black community has been stigmatized for so long and root of it is - colonization. It's time to decolonize mental health in the Black community, take back our narratives, amplify our voices, raise awareness, create resources and start our healing process.

      @StacyAnnBuchanan 3 года назад

      Thank you. As a relatively new parent, I'm making it my duty to not use "beating" as a form of discipline for my child. I've said it before and will say it again....the generational trauma stops with me. Of course it's not easy....but its a journey I am grateful to be on. I'm learning to unlearn.

    I'd love to hear her "authentic" experience as part of the Trudeau Liberal Government .... alas, that was not discussed. How has Celina "healed" over being used as a "token black person" for Justin Trudeau and his Leftist Government? "Time to be honest, time to tell that story in an Authentic way" .... but something tells me Celina isn't allowed to even mention the Trudeau name w/o fear of repercussion?
