I have been thinking about making one. Not just LEDs. But disassembling a second hand 10" tablet and making that into a screen backpack or messenger bag. And you can still use the screen with the digitiser still running android os so you could play games on the backpack while you commute. Also larger speakers built into the backpack. Or Bluetooth speakers.

Two pin plug hmm ! A heating element with no earth ! All exposed conductive parts must be earthed. I wouldn't have even bought it. Chop it up and throw it away.

I have one (or one that looks like this), and I love it. It may disappoint those who are used to the much more expensive continuous sucking moo-guns, but it is great really if you get to know it. It needs some time to heat, I usually add fresh solder to the old, place it over the pin, when I see the solder melting and the tip starts to "sink" onto the pin, push the button. If you accidentally release the button over the pcb, it will sneeze a splash of solder :) I keep a solder-tip-cleaner-wire-mesh-ball something close to the pcb I am working on and release into that immediately.

Turn on. Wait 10 mins then use. Use flux and hold down button then release away from board. Mine is mint. Key is heat. Dont be impatient. Great for the price

I got one of these about 6 months ago and have done a bit of desoldering with it (2 Amiga Agnus sockets, a few 74LS and a few ram sockets) , it does the job (probably not as well as the continuous pump ones), the main issue is remembering not to take your finger off the button until you aim it somewhere other than the circuit board you are desoldering from else you end up spraying solder mist everywhere on the board. Now to watch the rest of your vid (typed this at the 2mins). Edit: oh boy, my wire was not pulled out like that (or was that you trying to disassemble?). Edit:2 I always run a bit of leaded solder onto the area I want to desolder to assist with the melting point and flow improvement). Edit3: wow, saw the end. I wonder if it has protection diodes on it to help reduce the massive back EMF when releasing the microswitch? Else that switch will get bonded by sparks given the fairly meaty magnetic field they have!

Those are unleaded joint will take time to desolder, trick is to get some leaded solder on then carry on.

I have one of these and it was quite good, mine seems to work a lot better than what is shown. I think these have a limited duty cycle so you have to pace yourself while using them. Did several hundred solder joints before the microswitch blew out and took out a 20a breaker. I haven't looked at fixing it yet or to see if the coil is shorted. For the money I paid I'd say it would be worth it but you have to note that the metal sections should be earthed so if the heater shorts out it will shock you if you touch it. Another thing to note is the tips are usually fairly cheap and will erode as you use them, if you don't keep an eye on that it will start to chew up the board. I suggest placing a piece of paper towel to release the solenoid over to keep the jetted solder down.

The QKZ AK6 is a very good IEM for the cost. Decent Bass response and very good mids and highs. No detachable cable, but it was only $4 on AliExpress. Have been using the AK6 for the past week and it's one of my favorite IEM, no irritation to wear all day and it weights next to nothing. Even has a decent volume slider. No distortion, build quality is excellent. Silicon cord covers don't stay on the cord, but they are not really needed. Excellent stereo separation and has a wide sound stage. Paired with a Surfans F20 Hi-Res player or iPad Shuffle, this is an excellent audio experience.

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it. I have the same clear case. Well spotted and appreciated the short out warning on the brass screws. I've just stuck small squares of clear sticky tape over each of them now - an almost invisible remedy. Also there are 2 tiny screws provided for that side plate. They are different from the others as they are screw threads and self tapping. Having said that, I found them too short anyway and provided my own black ones which match the others.
