This is a later version of this song and I believe the best one. Though I do love the more powerful stage version too. But this one conveys a different meaning, sounding more sad. I love this.

Toby is Grammy nominated songwriter based in LA. He has written/co-written numerous hits, including "If I Were a Boy". He recently released an album series titled "Piano Diaries" re-interpreting his top hits using new, less known artists. Angelina was his choice to recreate "If I Were a Boy". He discovered AJ a couple years ago and they regularly have been collaborating on new material. There are more versions of this song, including the official, pop/rock 'Mulholland' version. Most AJ fans feel this is the best.

Thats why we name her the girl with 1000 voices from the young beginning ❤ now she has a lot of power to do this life in a show with more than 20 Songs in a row. Angelina has literally shocked me, I love her voice and I'm more and more in awe of her unstoppable musical evolution, I would never have expected that at her age she had already reached such a stratospheric level of vocal perfection. This is truly a beautiful song perfectly arranged for her voices (so many!), both in the first blues version and in this later jazz version, but what she creates in this melancholic and sad version is indescribable and absolutely astonishing, also for the apparent ease with which she does it, in reality the instrumental accompaniment is little more than a simple pleasant decoration, her voice alone is enough to reproduce the emotional effect of a whole orchestra. She is a truly eclectic and extraordinary artist, I understand well why Toby is enraptured by her talent, being able to collaborate with a singer like her leaves a boundless space for musical imagination, you probably can't even imagine what vocal wonders she can create. Her creativity is simply enchanting and astonishing. 💛🧡❤

Toby is a songwriter best known probably by writing All Of Me with John Ledgend. He and Angelina are co-writers on this song. She has over a dozen original songs to her credit. All I know about the back story is that she told a friend that this was her "breakup song" She was 16 when the pop version of the song was recorded, she is currently 18.
