i live in new smyrna. edgewater is not on the ocean. your prices are way low. the average rent in volusia county is about 2000 a month. if on the beach it's more like 4000 a month. this winter a guy i know was paying 6000 a month on the beach in new smyrna.

If you're in Virginia and you want cheaper you move west. Be prepared for low paying employment and below average schools. If you want better pay and employment then you move to NOVA. And if its average schools, retail employment and a very diverse community you move to the east. As the saying goes you get what you pay for. I should know as ive lived all over Virginia.
