Narrative and experimental short films exploring new techniques in animation and video.
Award Winning Animation Short Film: The Thomas Beale Cipher
Based on a true legend of the famous unsolved code.
The film contains 16 hidden messages that hold clues to the characters' secrets. Eight are fairly easy requiring only a close eye. Six are moderately difficult using various encryption methods. Two are extremely difficult requiring a genius mind to decrypt.

Probably the coolest animation style I've ever seen
Amazing short film 🙌
The Beale Cipher is based on Culper Spy Codes. These men hated what Washington was. Learning his true nature when confronted with the lifestyles of the Native American. They saw who the warmongers really were and decided to thwart all his BRITISH endeavors.
The Beale Cipher is based on Culper Spy Codes in shorthand.
is like the presentation of a game I want to play :)
Supersucky
And what I know is that the Ciphers are actually Culper Spy Codes. 100% Fact.
would love to learn how this was animated! so beautiful
This is SO neat. The eyes were creepy cool, and I loved the story and animation. An award well deserved.
It didn't win any awards. It was nominated for something at a New York short film festival, but that's about it.
Openly racist. But there's no systemic racism.
Mr. White, the smart good guy, and Mr. Black, the less smart bad guy. Sigh. And this got an award? Nothing new here; boilerplate 50's detective schlock. Not much here unless you're male, pale and narcissistic
Sasachiminesh Read the description ^^ Aaaand I think you missed the very interesting style of animation, the a bit more complex story than you described it and the symbolism of the pale protagonist and black kinda-antagonist, who btw is only relevant for a short period of the story. Also the protagonist isn't that much of a "good" guy; he is just falsely accused of treason (or it least I think that he is falsely accused; maybe I got something wrong).
Loved the Rube Goldberg Variations.
MOST BEAUTIFUL animation i've ever seen
Muy buena animación!
not bad - not good... carton-like, no perspective, childish...
I set up this blog to hopefully collaborate with people who want to work at deciphering the film's codes. Please join me! platformsevenblog.wordpress.com

What did you make of the 'enigma machine' in the briefcase? Here's what I see: 1) moving dial: Starts at 'F', clicks backwards to 'A' 2) position of wires: A1, B2, G7, K11, L12, M13, N14, R18, Y25, Z26. 3) IF THEY ARE A RUSE, THEN THE *EMPTY* SOCKETS ARE THE CLUES: A1, B2, C3, I9, O15, O15, O15, P16 (obscured), R18, T20, & X. Note the 'X' has no associated number. 4) So maybe the sole clue is: "24" - the missing number annotated by 'X'.
At 8:50 ,on the paper "TEEM EM TA MROFTALP NEVES" ,means "meet me at platform seven". (Maybe written by that lady)
excellent.
i'm so confused
Superb! A perfectly judged animated short film by Andrew Allen.

Really awesome! I like the style and camera language.
It was a fantastic work ... WELL DONE ! But, what was that written on that card...? did not understood ...Plez if any 1 can say ........
SUPARNA GHOSH It was the words "Meet me at platform seven"--the words were in order but the letters within them were spelled backwards.
Something about The Gold Bug, a short story by Edgar Allan Poe the involves cryptography.
Amazing style and intriguing storytelling.
