Yes. The correct transliteration is Ha-Tikwa. The letter is a "waw". Not "vav" Unfortunately, the modernization of Hebrew was largely dictated by Ashkenazic Jews who couldn't pronounce many Hebrew letters well. Another example is the modern pronounciation of the letter "het". Because of that, many Jews today in Israel pronounce "het" just like "khaf" (which is basically the equivalent to doube "r" in Latin languages or "j" in the beggining of wrods in Spanish). Another letter that is also mispronounced is the soft "bet". It's nowadays pronounced as a "v" when in reality it should be pronounced as something between "b" and "v" phonemes. A lot of this has to do with the fact that Ashkenazic Jews and also many Sephardic Jews in Europe lost touch with the way Hebrew letters should be pronounced and were naturally influenced by European languages as these were the languages they spoke most often in Europe. Hebrew was only used for prayers, literature and poetry or for trade with Jews living in North Africa and the Middle East. This is no different from what we see today with many young Arabs already born in Europe and America whose Arabic accent is already influenced by the laguages spoken in the countries they live in. In fact, this happens to almost every second or third generation of immigrants. Now, imagine a community living away from its homeland for 2,000 years.

Also, if we are going to talk about the morality of certain nations, why dont we talk about how almost every Muslim country is slowly adopting secularism, with Saudi Arabia opening an alcohol shop in Ridyah, with Egypt recognizing Israel as a state, and with other examples of the Middle East westernizing. Point is, we're in the end times and this was prophesied to happen, so dont point fingers at the west and say that this is all the west's fault, it isnt, its the fault of Satan and his temptations and the laxity of men.
