Some of the places shown are not in Lynchburg but are not far from it. One big plus is that it is NOT near the Interstate!

One of the local radio stations ran a contest back in the 90's to come up with a motto for Lynchburg. As I recall, the winning entry was "Lynchburg. Everybody has to be somewhere". I grew up there, moved away for twenty five years, then came back to live in the wonderful town of Amherst, just north of Lynchburg. It is a decent city midway between The People's Republic Of Charlottesville and Roanoke.

Funny, I never felt Lynchburg loved anyone who fit outside of the conservative Christian mold in my 18 years growing up there.

Lynchburg is run down, depressing and not much to do.

Love my hometown of Lynchburg, Va. Haven’t lived there since I was child. Always thrills me when I go back to visit relatives. Wouldn’t mind retiring there. I think anyone visiting would enjoy it. The WWII memorial in Bedford county is a must see. It will give you goosebumps, at least it did me. Downtown L’burg is cool too.

Everything wrong with the town they don't tell you : college town bad traffic crime rate out the ass most jobs are Warehouse or manufacturing that pay crap the town shuts down around 11pm meth heads everywhere and their isn't a whole lot enterinment in the town

Used to live in Lynchburg for 20 years and have never been there. Now I'm around Roanoke, Va. area so I might have to make a road trip and see for myself. Interesting to say the least, not to mention my wife is a funeral director so she might find it really interesting.
